An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Chapter 121 - The Search Party (2)

After four days of the search for the couple, a piece of news finally arrived.

Charlie's assistant came running to inform the dear news to Luyisa and Charlie who were sitting in the conference room discussing the stock price fluctuation.

Though the news about the missing couple kept secret. It sooner started to spread gradually in the high-class society. As a result, the stock value of Torizo Corporation did drop to the level of bankruptcy.

Besides Edward Symonds, Anna's father legally took full control over the Symonds Corporation. Leaving no room for Luyisa to meddle with their Corporation.

Charlie's assistant opened and held the door of the conference room. He was panting as he addressed, "Excuse me!"

He then nodded to Charlie for acknowledgment. Charlie at once understood the meaning of his assistant behavior. His assistant would never lose his cool posture unless it was a high emergency.

Charlie adjourned the board meeting as he stood up and walked out of the conference room. His assistant was holding the door open with respect.

After walking a safe distance, Charlie inquired, "What is it?"

"We have received news about our young master."

Charlie raised his hands to stop the assistant from continuing, "Is it good news or bad news?"

His assistant answered warily, "It is a piece of important information."

Charlie closed his eyes, he questioned again in little frustration, "What is it?"

The assistant went closer to his ears and whispered, "The car that Mr.Shane drove on their wedding day was found near the outskirts of the Derah mountain range. It was said that they have found some clues."

The news perked Charlie's interest instantly, "What was the clue?"

"The men from the police department declined to reveal it to us. Only the legal guardian can acquire the information in person after some judicial procedures."

Charlie stopped, "Mmm… Wait for me outside."

Commanding his assistant, Charlie walked back to the conference room to resume the board meeting. The meeting didn't last even for half an hour.

When Charlie and Luyisa walked out of the conference room, Charlie's assistant immediately followed behind them.

Luyisa took a look at her husband's cold face, it was evident that something was troubling him.

Once the couple climbed into the back seat of the car, his assistant took the passenger seat, Luyisa interrogated him, "Did you receive any news about Shane and Anna?"

Charlie nodded and continued, "Shane's car was found. They have also found some clues. Once after dropping you at our residence, I will…"

Before Charlie could end the sentence, Luyisa declared, "I am coming with you. Whatever be the news I am ready to face it."

Charlie gazed at the determined face of his wife and contemplated whether to let her tag along.

Once they reached the headquarters, Charlie led the way to the sergeant who was handling the case. The sergeant was waiting for them with all the required doc.u.ments to be signed.

The sergeant greeted them sympathetically, "My greetings. Please be seated. Here are the clues we found in the car."

He then pushed forward a brown cover and also some formality papers to be signed.

Luyisa picked the brown cover with a shaky hand while Charlie signed the formality papers in haste.

Luyisa unfolded the papers inside the cover with the utmost care. Her eyes widened in shock at once.

Charlie took the papers from Luyisa's hand and read loudly, Both in panic and unbelief, "Divorce papers?!"

Charlie's Assistant gulped witnessing the scene unfold before his eyes. He was fully aware that this news would surely ruin the Torizo Corporation and his CEO's family.

Luyisa grabbed the papers back and read the content within, both the parties have already signed it.

The more shocking news was that the divorce was initiated by Anna. Luyisa declared in a frenzy, "These papers are fake, There is no way Anna would have asked for a divorce. She loves Shane. Why would she ask for a divorce when everything turns out well."

Charlie also appended, "They both went missing precisely on their wedding day. These papers must be fake. Have the expert verified the signatures?"

The sergeant nodded his head in response. "I know how you might feel, this is a bit shocking for us too. I hope you gather yourself together and accept the fact.

It looks like the couple is little troubled to face you, so they might have willfully gone hiding."

Charlie burst out in anger instantly, "My son is neither an irresponsible person nor a coward. Someone purposefully laid the clues after kidnapping them. Is this the theory all you got to close the case?

I will be registering a grievance. What evidence does the department hold to support the petty assumption?"

The sergeant stood in silence and waited for Charlie to finish his refute. He then silently pointed at the date of the divorce papers acquired and also the date of Anna's signature on them.
