An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

"Jacob Shaw! How dare you dodge the meeting again." Jacob's elder sister, Esther stormed into his room with a murderous aura.

"Calm down, Sis!" He was laying carelessly in the sofa and switching the channel coolly. One of his hand held the remote control while the other hand rested in the back of the sofa.

"I will handle them later." Jacob answered domineering and he was not least bit worried.

"Stop pretending high and all, I know your sc.u.m true face. You threw me into the tank of sharks and let me die all alone, how could you do this to me? You know how hard I endured to cover up for you this time?" Esther yelled in frustration.

"What happened?" Jacob questioned. She threw her hands high up, "You ask me this question? You are the one who pulled more than enough resources to buy stocks from Symonds corporation. When the investor questioned me in the board meeting. Just like that, you abandoned me."

"How do you expect me to handle it? Do you want me to tell them, 'Oh! my little brother is quite interested in the mysterious successor of the Symonds corporation.'  Damn it, Jacob! Am I your Sister? How could you do this to me?"

"Just tell them the truth, I am indeed interested in." Jacob yawned and stretched his hands. "I need to take a nap. I am going to bath. Bye, Sis!"

When Jacob tried to get up from the sofa, Esther gave him a deadly glare as she spit out, "You, Jacob shaw! Don't you dare move from there! Where were you today? I heard that you created a chaos in the police station. What did you do now?"

On the other hand, Jacob didn't give a damn to react. he answered lazily, "Sis! I was in a meeting, Okay?!"

Esther lost her control, "What kind of meeting involves the police? Did you again start roaming in the streets? For heaven sake... Give up, Jacob! Give up... You are the CEO of the corporation and you are twenty five years old already. Don't expect your sister to pamper you, everyone was looking forward to meeting you in person. But because of your proposition, I was playing as if you like being mysterious and all your rubbish."

Esther has been troubled by the investor for a whole four hours with all of them shooting question at her. She sat dejectedly holding her head, unable to answer any of them and accepting all their buzzer. As per their usual plan, he was supposed to assist her in concealed call and she will do answer the investor. However, he abandoned her and totally forget about his sister once he met his ' Little Doll '.

"Sis, are you looking down on me?" Jacob challenged his sister, "Fine! you take full responsibility of the BMF Corporation. Let's see, who is behind all the glory of the current state."

"Jacob! I am not looking down on you. You are the best strategist, a manic, and none can pass through you. But why don't you stick with one platform and work on it? Why are you wasting your talents like this?"

Esther began her usual way of lecturing his little bro, both his mom and dad are done talking to him, only Esther was holding a last sliver of hope. She even handed the whole BMF corporation, A well-established corporation in Newyork city to her beloved brother. Though he is talented, he would lose interest when there is no equal opponent to fight with. Yet, she trusted him.

"Boring", Jacob lied on the sofa with his hands supporting the back of his head and stretched his legs at ease.

Esther slapped his legs away and sat on the sofa, questioning, "What did you say?"

"It is boring, sis! No one is giving me a fair fight. Once I step in, they all do back off. I am tired from all their sweet talk and back-stabs. If you don't quit advising me then I'll become a monk leaving you to suffer hell."

Esther laughed at her brother, " Monk?!.. You?... Impossible. I am sure about this one thing, you won't stay there even for a week."

"Remember?!... When you learnt kickboxing and martial arts, you said that you are going to be a wrestler for lifetime. Then you came back home beating all and saying that there is no one more to give you a fair even fight. You resigned! Pathetic!"

"Not just that! Think about the days you spent in labs and learning medicine, it took almost a year. But in the end, you quit that too. For who knows what the reason is. You did trekking and camping, all sorts of nonsense. But in the end, it all bored you. How unfortunate!" She smirked.

Jacob pressed his forehead feeling a headache on the way, "You are tiring me, don't make me run off again. Just now, I met a girl who took my interest."

"What? A girl? Wait... You were in a meeting with a girl. You went out for a date while I suffered the buzzing questions of the investor? Damn you! Jacob" Esther fumed.

"Sis! Sis! Chill out... It is not a pre-planned date, that girl got lost in the crowd and I helped her."

Esther crossed her arms, she was predetermined that girl is after money, "Who is that girl? You are the best strategist, I hope you won't make a mistake."

With a smug smile on his face, he replied, "Anna Symonds! The one, I am looking for past six months. The legendary successor of Symonds corporation."

While Jacob was hitting a conversation with Anna, his assistant traced out the background details of the girl. When Jacob found out who she was, he looked at the girl unbelieving. When she herself confirmed her identity, he laughed at himself for being stupid all the while.

"Successor of Symonds corporation?! The mysterious huge shareholder is a girl." Esther looked at his brother with an astonishment.

Jacob still held a broad smile, "Yep! All the while, I thought that I am hunting for a big demon but it turned out to be a toddler who has no idea of who she is. Even if she is dead, she would not know why."

"She is in New York!! She got lost in crowd... a toddler... Are you serious?" Esther was too stunned to speak, or less dramatic to say, to make a complete sentence.

"Yes, I am pretty serious and I need more information about her. If my sister is kind enough to lend me a helping hand, I will be grateful." Jacob looked at her meaningfully.

"What if, I don't?" Esther asked him crossing her arms.

"Hmph! Then I need to find it out myself. Too bad, I will not have enough time to spend with you guys." Jacob said as if a matter of factly.

"Boy! Stop threatening me. I'll look for you. So now, will you give up on Symonds corporation and work on other matters?"

"Nope! Now, I am even more interested in the company." Jacob smiled even more broadly.

"Boy! Are you going to fight with the girl who caught your interest?" Esther shook her head unbelieving.

"Why not?! That girl seems to like fighting, especially with me. You know, this time we will sure have fun." 

"Your fun is not of my type, I better stay out of it. Good Luck!" Once said, Esther stood up with an intention to leave.

Before closing the door to his room, she warned his brother for the last time, "Hey, don't dare to forsake me ever again, I will beat you up with a cane if you do so."

Jacob smiled, "I am looking forward to."

Esther let out a wide smile, 'This boy! He indeed can turn my miserable day into a fun-filled one. Bless you!'

"You little demon", She chided him as she closed the door.

Jacob smiled back sheepishly at his cursing sister and reclined back in the sofa to lay down more comfortably.

He shut his eyes to re-live the moment he spent with the girl, and his smile bloomed into a broader one as time passed.

On the other hand, The girl who brought the happiness to him was curled in her bed into a ball and hugged her knees and shaking violently. All her dreams were shattered and she was cursing herself for being so unlucky. 

Only God knows how long she was suffocating in the pain, the pain which tear off her heart into shreds.
