An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Chapter 25 - Meeting of how to court a girl

Esther entered the meeting room making the entire room fall in silence. She noticed her little brother was ogling at the phone screen intensely.

Jacob who was absorbed by the Anna's reaction didn't realize his sister was making her way towards him. Anna was scribbling randomly in her notebook, Jacob tried so hard to apprehend the scribbling and discovered only two words.

Those two words were written with much pressure by the girl. Anna wrote it very deliberately, and those words hit Jacob like a thunderbolt, she wrote,  MISS YOU

The smile that Jacob held earlier started to fade. He knows for sure that the words are not meant for him but for the other man who she was desperately in love with. Girl! Why don't you look around? Here I am, waiting for your call for a week. There you are, missing the undeserved person.

Don't you underestimate me. Never ever, I'll give up on you. I'll go to any measure to have you with me, even to the extent of abducting you.

When Jacob was so immersed in his own world, his sister walked and slowly stood behind his shoulder and peeked at the girl. A small smile crept out of her lips, "Hmm... She is beautiful. Is there any progress."

Jacob was surprised by the unexpected voice of her sister near his shoulder. But it lasted only for a second, he then turned back to give her a warm smile, "Not yet, Sis! She didn't call me yet, It's already been a week."

Jacob's assistant stood struck, What the heck, I called his sister to give him a nice cold lecture but what on earth is happening. This should not be the rightful reaction. What if Chairman comes to know about this. I am doomed, so doomed.

The board members seated around glanced at each other in reluctance, one of the aged member blurted the words courageously, "Hmm... It looks like someone is making the toughest CEO go crazy. Need any professional advice."

"Yeah! Maybe the experienced ones can help me here. She is not calling me, should I go and meet her in person?" Jacob posted the question casually back to the old man.

He replied, "My advice?!... Hmmm... It's been a long while since I played these kinds of stuff." He smiled vibrantly. Sensing the senior member getting involved, other members of board blended in.

The old man continued, "As an experienced one! I advise you to play a trick! you can act as if you accidentally bumped into her. It might work!"

"That sounds good! I'll keep it in mind" Though Jacob answered earnestly, his eyes were glued to the screen. The old man smiled at him warmly.

Another member suggested his idea, "But it sounds like an old trick! It would be much better if CEO acts straightforwardly as always, it would be much better."

A woman voiced out, "That would be like invading her privacy. What if, she has an eye for someone else and you walk into her door and create confusion and then she will hate you to the core. You'll never get a second chance, I vote for 'Accidental meetup' that would be better."

Jacob looked at the woman, she was right. After all, Anna has an eye for someone else, not him. If he knocks her door, it might turn into pure hate. He needs to wait for the right time and a loophole for an accidental meetup.

Everyone started voicing their opinions and ideas. Soon the board meeting turned into a meeting of how to court a girl. Jacob was still daydreaming looking at the girl on the screen.

Adjourning the board meeting, Esther dragged her brother up, "Sorry everyone! My little bro is lovesick for the past week, I should not have forced him to come here. We'll discuss the project later."

She walked out of the room gripping her brother's arm, everyone in the meeting smiled at the young man. The old man whispered, "Poor fellow! The one who surrendered in love is the hardest to be pulled out."
