An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Chapter 63 - Kathy, Anna's mother was too unique (3)

"Mom disappeared?! But grandma told me that... that she was..." Anna's voice trembled to say the next word.

"That she died in a bomb blast while she went to meet her father in a military camp?" Stream of tears trailed down Luyisa's cheeks. "Mmm...That was the news we all heard officially but there was one more thing that only I knew and I suspect Clayton now more." Luyisa stared out of the window and her eyes turned completely damp.

"Your mother called me in the middle of the night before the day she disappeared. She told me that her father needs to see her urgently and so she had to go, she asked me to take care of you until the day she returns.

When I asked her when will she come back, she told me that it depends on what her father's demand was. And then she never returned home," Luyisa swayed her head in despair.

"We only received the news officially from the military head office that your grandfather and your mother died in a bomb blast. The news hit the headline of every news channels but only about your grandfather. Since, he was a Colonel of the army they paid tribute to his burial as he died in the bomb blast in one of his military campgrounds but your mother got none, She didn't even have a tombstone."

"Only I perceived that your grandfather has already learned that or else, why would he called your mother. He never appreciated indulging Kathy in his works, he always held a safeguard around his daughter, why would he call her to the most dangerous place out of the blue.

They knew something, That must be the central reason for Kathy to visit your grandfather all of a sudden. They must have known it... If I have seen the reason earlier, I never would have let her go..." Luyisa whimpered in agony.

"I still believe that she is out there somewhere and there must be some strings attached between your last day incident to your mother. I failed to hold your mother back then and I am not going to lose you too, Anna! I'll resolve everything for you."

Anna gripped her aunt's palms tightly and her whole body froze in shock and grief. 'My mother is possibly alive and my maternal grandfather was a Colonel. Is this something I can handle?'

"Anna!"

Anna raised her head up and noticed her Aunt gaze was fixed on her face, "Are you okay?! I thought I can keep you safe as long as you are closer to me and my family, However now it seems really hard. Yet still, there is hope, as long as you stay collected and stand against it."

"Aunt! Do you mean these people are after me because of my mom but not on company matters?" Anna's interrogation set Luyisa in distress.

"Both! Some people are after you for the corporation and about others, I am still not sure." Luyisa fortified.

That was excessively much for Anna to digest for a day. Still, Luyisa had not answered Anna's initial questions that how her grandmother's last WILL was bound to her mother. Anna prompted her Aunt, "Aunt, you still didn't answer my original question."

Luyisa Closed her eyes to ease and composed herself before she asks, "Are you acting tough? or are you truly have overcome your fear? Hearing about your mother is itself enough for you to kneel and cry, yet you survived unlike before."

"Haven't I cried enough, what good it did to me. In the end, I would feel only weak and miserable. I am tired of being a burden to anyone, I must learn to fight my own battle and the time served for me is thin. This is my battle, it is only fair if I strive to fight."

Luyisa's eyebrows lifted up in wonder. 'What got into this little girl?' "Fine! I will answer this one question alone for now. We are running late to catch up on a plane. The rest can wait until we reach home."

As Anna said 'ok', Luyisa patted the girl's hand and then cupped Anna's cheeks in her hand with adoration.
