An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Luyisa stared at the phone in her hands. and slowly she shifted the phone to her ear and answered in a low voice, "Hello!"

"Luyi, How long?! Your voice has not changed even a bit and same does your personality, Mendling with other's business." A silver-hair man sipping the coffee leisurely answered to Luyisa in the speakerphone.

'Mendling with other's business?! Shane never was like Edward. Both have ultimately two different personalities. How could he?'

"Clayton! Mendling with other's business never been my business. Anna is my God-daughter and I love her more than my own son."

"God-daughter?! Interesting! Why do I never remember handing Anna's guardianship to you? You know very well that I can literally Sue you for your statement Alone?" He sounded as cold as usual.

Luyisa scanned around and found the adhesive eyes on her especially Edward scaring gaze. So she excused herself and left the living room to defend.

Once she moved to a safe inaudible place from others, she questioned, "Clayton, I believed that you are a gentleman! How can you go back on your words? You agreed with Anna's grandmother and me that I can act as a guardian back then."

"Luyi! Luyi!! It looks like you forget what I exactly told you, I asked you to 'TAKE CARE' of Anna. I never agreed to hand over her guardianship, the shares I hold is enough to prove my account." Clayton argument gave her no room for a further call.

Luyisa's c.h.e.s.t heaved up and down in hatred, she retorted, "But Anna loves Shane, what can you do about that?"

"And so?! You arranged a secret marriage between them and you even ignored to inform me." Clayton grinded his teeth.

'Oh! then it is true that Clayton knew about the secret marriage.' "It was necessary by then, don't you want Anna to leave Symonds residence so badly?"

"My God-daughter was just a teenage girl and you didn't even give her a chance to look around the world. You immediately put another shackle on her neck, once she got out of Symonds residence. And do mark my words, I'll make sure your son pays the price for what he did to Anna."

Like a cold water bucket dropped on her, she jerked, "What?! Are you talking about the men that acknowledged that short girl?"

Clayton brooded about the short girl, Aaliyah for a while. Though he never once met this strange girl, He replied to Luyisa with a monosyllable word, "Yes"

"You set a spy on Anna? unbelievable!!!" her mouth hung open in surprise. She never did realize that she herself is a pawn on his hands to aid Anna.

Clayton smiled in mockery, "Luyi! Yes, I did aid that girl, Is there a problem?" He did aid Aaliyah with his men as he completely trusted her identity and background.

"Then you must also know who attacked Anna, don't you? Who is the potential threat to her, Answer me?"

"Have you ever heard the saying, Knowing too much is also dangerous. You better stay out of this which would lengthen your life and also do keep Anna save. Anna's presence was more vital than you can ever imagine."

"Clayton! Don't you scare me, Ok?!

Clayton laughed hard as if he heard a hilarious joke, "Do you want to return home like a tin fish?"

"Stop mocking! Don't think that we Torizo's are easy to be walked over."

"Enough! You are wasting my time. Where is Anna?" Clayton set the coffee cup down and resumed the video in the laptop that he last played and watched the young girl marching forward to the man and followed by that the man slapping her. He paused and stared at the girl.

"Anna is with me in our residence." She then continued with a little hesitation. Although she knew that the result would be negative, she tried her luck, "Clayton, We need your help! Can you please investigate who is meddling with Torizo's Corporation? We can not shut the news down, It was raising like havoc."

"Help! Why would I help? Someone is doing the job on behalf of me, Why would I shut it down. You should be happy about me not returning the favor personally."

'Freak!' "Mmm... Is there anything else?" Luyisa's voice turned hard, and she so much wanted to hang the phone.

"I want to meet Anna. Bring her to the board meeting tomorrow and make sure to guard her identity when she enters the company."

"Tomorrow?! Are you Crazy? Didn't you see the news? How on earth, I can handle everything in a day with such a hectic situation in my corporation."

"Do I care? Bring her!" He hung the call not giving her a chance to argue.

She walked out of the room as if it was doomsday, Charlie walked to her and enquired, "Is everything ok?"

"How would I be okay after talking to Clayton. That freak want..." she gave a quick glance at Edward and twisted her words, "That freak wants every one of the shareholders to be present in the board meeting tomorrow which means Anna also has to attend.

Edward! Can you please accompany us to the bank safe to unlock the WILL and also call the family lawyer to be present."

Edward got up from the sofa as he buttoned up the coat and nodded to Luyisa in agreement.

Anna got up reflexively and questioned, "But what about Shane? Uncle needs support from us to resolve the issue."

Charlie replied at once as he knew what Clayton would do if they neglected the warning, "I will plan a way to divert the attention, don't concern yourself. Luyi! Get moving!"

Charlie walked them out and waited until the car disappeared from his sight. He sighed deeply, "How could such an insignificant girl like Anna going through one mess after another in a very short time. Mmm... I wonder, What does Shane is doing now?"
