An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

At six in the morning, Anna was woken up by her aunt's gentle call, and as she opened her eyes she met the concerned eyes of her aunt.

'Why does she look upset, Is something happened again?' Anna's mind bring back the memories of yesterday night web post, 'Oh! My public statement in the social media!!! Did I cause another big mistake.'

As she wondered, she gazed back at her aunt in fright.

"Anna, Get ready! We need to head to Symonds Corporation. The board meeting was hastened, and your godfather wants you to be there." Luyisa stroked Anna's hair, and her eyebrows creased as the image of Anna having breakfast with the other man in the cafe past through her vision.

'She was just having breakfast with that man, that was not a big deal!!!

But what if she holds a feeling for that man?' Luyisa gazed at Anna with skepticism and then instantly shake off the thoughts, 'No! No! It can't be true.'

As she tried hard to suppress the negative thoughts she gave a simple smile at Anna, "Come on, get ready! Conceal your face as much as you can, there might be reporters waiting out of our residents to take a snap of you."

'Reporters?! Why is she not asking anything about my last night public statement in social media?'

"Auntie! Does uncle return home, Is everything alright?" Anna enquired concealing her heeds.

"Listen, Anna! Now your focus should lie only on the board meeting. Just forget about all the commotions outside, it will eventually die out, and you always have us to support you. OK?! Now you better hand over your phone and laptop to me, just in case."

'What?! Why is auntie asking for my phone? Then there must be something seriously wrong, and so she is trying to hide it from me.' As Anna's mind scrutinized the situation, she decided better not to question any further.

Anna pushed her phone and laptop to her Aunt's side and climbed down the bed, "I better go and get ready, it is getting late."

"Mmm..." Luyisa waited till Anna entered the bathroom. Once Anna was out of sight, she stood up carrying Anna's phone and laptop and prepared to leave the room. By then, she halted as she tilted her head to check all the pictures of Shane hanging in the wall.

Luyisa noticed that there wasn't even one single picture of Anna in the wall, and there was not even a single wedding photo of them together. This realization hit Luyisa like a thunder-bolt, 'Does Anna's presence was this insignificant in Shane's life?'

At Seven o clock in the morning, At Symonds Corporation Clayton's CEO room.

"Making a mill out of a mole! This was such a petty issue but why is it taking a toll on the internet and news channel. Can't my men not even handle such a petty thing?" Clayton yelled out at the PR department manager.

The manager stood in front of him with a strange look, 'What does this Girl got to do with our Symonds people PR department? Why would the CEO care about someone from his enemy's side? Strange!'

"Mr. Clayton, we tried our best to contain the situation but with the interruption of the government media network, it was really hard for us to handle further. If we keep on going against them, we might end up in the hole along with Torizo Corporation."

Clayton's c.h.e.s.t was heaving up and down in frustration when his personal assistant came in to report the arrival of Madam Luyisa along with Anna.

Clayton nodded his head to his personal assistant in acknowledgment and then inclined his head to face the manager with a terrifying gaze he hissed, "We already are in the hole... So just look for a way to climb. Is there any more doubts?"

"I am sorry!" With a trembling voice, he continued. "We better do try to divert the attention of the media. How about we release a piece of information to the news channels hyping that today BMF Corporation might take the secondary lead position in our Corporation, That might hit the hot top news."

Clayton smirked hearing the comment, "Whatever! As long as you are able to tame Anna's account, I will be pleased and I don't care about the outcome."

And then he walked out of the room along with his personal assistant leaving the manager in trance. His personal assistant directed Clayton to the waiting room; once the door opened, Clayton noticed a young girl standing next to the fish tank feeding the fish.

Ignoring Luyisa's presence, he undeviatingly walked towards Anna. She looked exactly like her mother from her back profile, He totally forgot his usual way of walking like a lion out of the cage. He now looked like a pet wagging its tail for his master's approval.

For the first time, he felt scared. Scared that 'What if she doesn't accept me as her godfather. After all, I am still an outsider and how would she still remember the one who named her when she was still in her cradle.'
