An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

'Why is this happening to me? Can't I delay it any longer.'

As Anna panicked, her heartbeat arose. The nurse who was pinning IV drop to Anna's hands observed Anna's temperature was dropping down unexpectedly, she notified the doctor and at once, "Doctor! The patient body temperature is falling down."

"Sergeant, sorry please excuse us! I need to attend to the patient."

The Sergeant at once understood what the doctor meant to say, with an assurance he replied while eyeing at the girl, "Never mind about calling me for the inquiry, it is not important as of now. Just inform me before she gets discharged from the hospital that alone was enough."

Anna relaxed at once hearing the sergeant announcement, Both the doctor and the sergeant noticed how Anna's body eased after the sergeant's statement.

The doctor smiled at the girl and withdraw his face to treat the Sergeant with the same smiling face, "Thanks for your understanding!"

The Sergeant smiled back at the doctor and shook his head in amus.e.m.e.nt when he walked out of the place. What is the point of investigating, when she was afraid to speak the truth?

The doctor signaled the nurse to leave the room, he then walked to Anna to whisper in her ears, "Anna! I don't care whether you can hear me or not. I have given enough dose for you to have a good sleep. Just sleep well and forget about everything that bothers you. Now, I will be leaving too. Relax!"

He walked to the door and closed it gently with a faint smile. Yet, Anna guarded her pretense afraid there might be surveillance cameras to watch her actions.

As the doctor promised, the medication took its effect just in a few minutes, She slipped into the world of dreams and saw a pretty woman who resembled just like her walk towards her.

'Mother! Is that you?'

The woman replied, 'Sleep, Anna! I will be guarding you.'

Anna usually had this kind of sweet dreams when she was young while suffering from an ailment. In her younger days, there was none to nurse her, and she would gradually imagine her mother presence was near her looking after her.

Today! The situation was no different. The loneliness around Anna engulfed her, and a twinkle of tears slipped down from the corner of her eyes which wet the pure white pillow.

Soon the mother figure turned into a man who she could not recognize, her eyebrows creased as she pulled efforts to see him. But her eyelid was too heavy for her to open, she felt light-hearted when the man softly brushed her hair with his pale hands. She could even feel the warmth of his palm.

As minutes ticked by, Anna slowly drifted to sleep. After a week of exhaustion, today was the day she slept in ease.

Five hours already passed when Shane and Luyisa entered the hospital. In the reception area, Luyisa showed some papers to the receptionist and proclaimed to take Anna under her care from Lulu.

The receptionist reluctantly passed the papers to the dean room, the doctor who monitored Anna before was asked to address the matter, and the doctor directed them to Anna's ward.

Shane took his steps to follow them but stopped on his tracks when he saw a tall man glaring at him. The tall man wore round sunglass and a black mask, his face was fully disguised yet his aura was somehow familiar.

Soon Shane's gaze turned into a glare, he could not cut his glare neither the tall man was ready to back down. As the glaring contest continued, Luyisa who was holding the open button in the elevator called her son to hurry up.

Shane unwillingly cut his glare first and marched to the elevator grimly. Once Shane stepped in, the first thing he did was to look at the place where the tall man was standing. However, the man was long gone and nowhere near for Shane to find him.

Disappointment flashed his eyes as the door of the elevator closed.

Shane and Luyisa along with the doctor's guidance entered the ward were Anna was sleeping peacefully. Shane walked to her bed side and whispered her name lightly, he was careful not to wake her up if she was in deep sleep.

Yet, Anna opened her eyes instantly. The first emotion that flashed on Anna's face was happiness, she smiled broadly at Luyisa and Shane. Soon, the smile turned into fear.

Anna hurriedly asked, "How come you two are here, where is my father and stepmother?"

Luyisa earlier smile was all ceased, "Why? You don't want to see your aunt?"

"I am sorry! I... I was..." Anna stammered to find words. When Lulu's image flashed on her mind, Anna jumped into asking questions again, "But where is Madam Lulu, how come she allowed you in?"

Luyisa smirked as she answered, "Why do we need her permission? Currently, Lulu would be in police station for her turn of interrogation."
