Asgardian Sword God

After they left the palace, Vali and Hela went to several places in Asgard city, they visited the fighting arena, the gardens in the city and the rainbow bridge, even including the Bifrost.

During this period, Vali had told Hela the duration of his leave. Hearing it, Hela felt surprised and wanted to take a leave too. But, as Vali told her the process for obtaining this permission, she quickly gave up on the idea.

Vali had told Hela this so that she would not keep interrupting in the future like she had done today.

And lastly, Vali took Hela to the garden of Idun. Even with all the places he saw and visited today, what he had seen and the gorgeous scenery in Idun's garden is incomparable to him.

Not long after they have reached the garden, Idun invited the both of them in. Walking through the garden, even though this isn't the first time Vali had seen, he is still mesmerized by the beauty.

In the previous visit, Vali, as his mind is preoccupied with the thought of obtaining the golden apples, he had not given much look to the beauty of the garden.

Seeing their surroundings, Vali and Hela kept on turning their heads to look at and admired the beauty of the several flowers and the luscious green leaves of the trees.

Since he had visited all the other gardens in Asgard today, Vali is bewildered by the scenery before him. Despite the fact that he had seen what Asgard has to offer, Vali still could not understand how Idun could make her garden so magnificent.

" Your garden is the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. It must be exhausting to take care of it. " said Vali as he admired the scene around him.

" Vali, thank you for the compliment but I will never find that taking care of this garden to be exhausting. " Idun said as she looks like she remembered something, then she continued, " This garden is the only thing I have left. I will take care of until I die. "

" What do you mean it's the only thing you have left? " asked Vali as he is puzzled by what Idun had said.

" It's a long story. I don't want to bore you. " said Idun as she tilted her head up to the sky like she was reminiscing and missing something from her life.

Seeing how Idun is behaving, Vali did not want to ask her further as it might be an uncomfortable subject.

Hela, seeing how Vali is behaving and talking with Idun, she wondered when Vali had become so close to Idun. With this thought, she elbows Vali discreetly and whispers, " Brother, how are you able to talk in this manner with someone such as her?"

Hela had asked this as she clearly knew who Idun is. She is one of the most respected people in all of Asgard. Even her father, Odin would not easily want to cross her.

" Father already took me here once already. I knew Miss Idun from that and she is not that scary. " replied Vali.

" Wait did you say father took you here already? Does this mean you have eaten the golden apples? " asked Hela as she widens her eyes in surprise.

" Yes, Miss Idun gave me one." replied Vali.

As Hela heard the reply of Vali, she felt envious. She had not eaten the apple yet Vali had eaten one before her.

And she suspects that this might be the reason why Vali is stronger than her. So, she asks, " When did you eat the golden apples? Is it before the first time you have defeated me? "

" After that, remember the fighting arena? " said Vali.

Hela nodded her head as she said, " Of course. What about that? "

" I asked father to help me fight there to test my increase in strength. " said Vali.

Hearing this, Hela is a bit disappointed. If Vali had defeated her after eating the golden apple, she could have understood why Vali could beat her.

But, as Vali had defeated her before even obtaining the golden apple, Hela could only accept the reality that she is inferior to Vali.

Even though she knew this, she still wanted to obtain the golden apple so she asked, " Brother, can you ask Miss Idun to give me one of the apples?"

" Uh... " said Vali as he did not know how to immediately respond.

" If you want the golden apples, I can give you one. " Idun said as she could hear a bit of the conversation between Vali and Hela.

As Idun said this, Vali could sense someone hiding. Although he did not activate his kenbunshoku haki, he felt like someone is secretly watching him. So, he immediately activated his Haki to confirm what he had sensed.

" Miss Idun, I just remembered I have something to do. So, may I leave Hela here with you a bit before I return. " said Vali as soon as he confirmed that someone is really watching him.

" Sure. " immediately replied Idun as she saw the expression of Vali.

" Where are you going? " Hela asked.

" Wait here for an hour. I'll be back. " said Vali as he begins to chase the person he sense with his Haki.

The person who is secretly watching Vali too sped away as he saw that Vali is coming towards him. And since he is on the other side of the garden that is farther away from the city of Asgard, he dashes right into the forest.

Vali then followed and chase the person as he went into the forest.

Since the other person seems to be a spy, his escaping skills and agility are above Vali. So, Vali could not immediately catch up to him.

But, regardless of this, Vali begins to activate his sword skills and form several energy blades. Then he immediately sends them towards the person running away from him.

While Vali is doing this, he activated the power of his devil fruit. But this time, he did not merge them but uses his fire to melt and boil the ice to get steam to come out from the sole of his feet to help increase his speed.

As the person detects the energy blades are coming towards him, he immediately dashes in a zig-zag pattern to lose the blades. Due to this, the blades missed their target.

With his devil fruit power augmenting his speed, Vali begins to close in on the person. Then, suddenly, he sent out a punch

Boom!

As Vali's fist is covered in Bushoshoku Haki and his fire-ice devil fruit powers, his fist begins to glow in a bluish-green colour with a cold flame around it.

Right as the fist hits the person in his back, he is sent flying and stumbled before he hits a tree.

Then, the person picks himself up again slowly and dash towards Vali.

As he runs towards Vali, he jumped up in the air and quickly transformed himself into a giant wolf.

Seeing the giant wolf leaping towards him, Vali quickly summoned 10 greatswords and quickly sent them towards the wolf as he covered them in Haki and his devil fruit powers.

Splat!

The swords quickly pierce the wolf and its blood splatter around into the trees and the ground.

As blood begins to gush out it's wound, the transformation of the person into a wolf started to revert back.

Vali then approached the person who had been previously transformed into a wolf. This person is half lying on the ground bleeding while his upper body is supported by a tree.

Then Vali sat down to look the person right in the face and he asked, " Who are you? And who sent you here? "

Receiving no answer, Vali pulled the person by his collar as he begins to activate his sword aura and his haoshoku haki and then he slowly said in an oppressive and intimidating tone, " I. will. only. ask. you. one. more. time. Who sent you here? "

Although this person had been trained to keep secrets even at the cost of his life. Due to the oppressive aura coming off from which is being directed towards him and due to his severe blood loss, his will wavered and he finally said, " Ange... "

Before he could finish what he is trying to say, due to his severe blood loss, the person fell unconscious.

Seeing this, Vali felt furious as the person felt unconscious before he could tell him much regarding anything.

Although he got a gist of who is responsible for sending the person, he wanted to obtain more information. But still, as the person is lying unconscious, he could not do anything about it.

As an idea suddenly struck him, Vali then started to check the person for any signs of life but still, he was too late. The person had already fallen dead.

" What? I killed a man? " Vali felt extremely confused at the moment. He is bombarded with different kinds of thoughts and emotions.

In this life and his previous life, Vali had never taken a life. Well, except for the case of him accidentally killing himself, this is the first time he had taken a life other than his own. So, Vali could feel his heart racing.

But, due to his harsh upbringing and him being told constantly to not hesitate to kill, after a minute, he could finally compose himself and accept the reality that he had killed a person.

As he could now think clearly, Vali knew he had to get rid of this evidence. So, he then begins to drag the bloodied corpse out of the woods and lay it in the middle of a clearing inside the forest.

Then with his devil fruit powers, he quickly set aflame the corpse and form a circular ice wall to prevent the fires from spreading.

Although the person has not died too long ago, due to the burning of the flesh, blood and guts, there came a pungent odour spreading in the surrounding.

But, since Vali covered the surrounding with an Ice wall, this smell did not spread far.

While all of this is going on, Vali covered his nose as he moves away slowly to escape the smell.

Not long after this, the body had completely burned down and all that left is just ashes.

With this, Vali then dug a hole in the ground and put in a block of ice and melt it.

Splash!

Vali quickly dove inside to wash away any remnants of blood from his body. He quickly washes himself and did the same with his clothes. And to dry himself and his clothes faster, he uses his flames to slowly evaporate the water from his body and his clothes.

After he had dried everything, he dresses himself and immediately returns to the garden.

As it is now late in the afternoon and almost an hour had passed, Hela is a bit concerned since Vali rushed away hurriedly.

Then Vali returned not long after this.

Seeing Vali, Hela asked as she pouts, " What were you doing in the past hour to leave me here like this?"

" Nothing that important." Vali did not want to tell anyone right away that he had killed a person so he quickly changes the subject, " Have you eaten the apple? "

" Yes. But I don't really feel any change." said Hela as she felt a bit of disappointment.

" Don't worry if you cannot feel the changes but I assure you, you have definitely obtained some benefits from it. " consoled Vali.

" And thank you, Miss Idun for giving Hela the apple. " said Vali with a smile as he turns towards Idun.

" You are welcome. And if come back a few years later, I believe you will be able to eat another apple. " replied Idun.

" Thank you for your offer Miss Idun. " said Vali, then he continued as he turned towards Hela, "It's getting late. We should return to the palace. "

" Goodnight Miss Idun. " said Vali and Hela

" Goodnight to the both of you. " replied Idun as she waves her hand.

After they had wished each other, Vali and Hela soon return to the palace.

And as Vali is lying on top of his bed, with what had happened today, he knew that he had to get much stronger and be more vigilant in the future if he wants to live.
