Assassin Initiate

"...Morrigan.....The Morrigan." Shay repeated the name to himself.

While Shay was in his own world, Chevalier's impatient voice broke Shay out of it,

"Now that we have a decent ship, quickly take me to my ship."

"Yes Chevalier, don't be impatient. Alright lads, pull the anchor, release those sails, we are going to take this beauty on an adventure." Shay called out to the men who came with Chevalier, Chevalier let them become the part of Shay's crew..

"AYE!!" The men were clearly excited.

"So, 'Captain', I wanna recommend myself for the position of your first mate." Liam said while coming up the deck.

"Of course! No consideration needed." Shay said while taking the hold of the ship's wheel.

After the sailors lowered the sails, the ship began to move, the wind was in favorable position so the ship soon picked up the speed.

"Those English dogs must have found out my ship. Who knows what will they do to it." Chevalier soon said after entering the big waters. Hearing that, Shay's eyes also got filled with worry. Why wouldn't it. Chevalier's ship, Le Gerfut, was a battle ship, a Man'o'War. The best and the only one Assassins have. If that got out of Assassins hands, the sea will be out of their hands. Having another ship with Shay was good thing. That's why Chevalier allowed Shay to have this garbage ship. Having experienced a sailor life before, Shay will manage the ship efficiently.

"Loose all the sails lads."

Loosing the sails of both the poles, the ship's speed increased once again.

"Captain!!, I can see Le Gerfut, and its currently being fired at." The lookout shouted from the top of the mast.

"Damn, those must be english dogs. Just wait, I will personally kill the captains of those sh.i.p.s once we reach there." Chevalier said after hearing what the lookout said.

"Everyone prepare for battle. This will be the our first battle on this ship and will determine whether the Sea God will give us blessings or not." Shay encouraged his crew.

"Ayeee!!"

The sailors began preparing the cannons, cannon balls, adjusting the position of cannon etc.

"Captain, there are six mid sized sh.i.p.s attacking Le Gerfut, every one having a royal navy flag on them." the lookout reported.

Sh.i.p.s were categorized as, mini, small, mid, large, and largest. River Boats comes in mini category, Small contains the sh.i.p.s capable of going into the sea but only till nearby islands. The cannons starts from the mid size sh.i.p.s which Shay currently have and Le Gerfut being the largest. So, basically even if 6 mid sized sh.i.p.s attacking the largest might sound ridiculous, but if any of those hits went critical, then the large ship might get destroyed.

When the Royal Navy sh.i.p.s saw Morrigan, 2 of the ship broke free and came towards the Morrigan, obviously to stop then.

"Front cannon, get loaded." Liam as the first mate, ordered. Chevalier just silently stood. Finished loading. Just when the two sh.i.p.s entered the range of Morrigan, Shay unhesitatingly ordered,

"Fire!!!"

*Boom*

The cannon made loud noise and an iron cannon ball, as big as a soccer ball, shot out with incredible speed. The cannon ball traveled in a parabola and hit the lower part of hull, directly piercing and making a hole. A ship also contains many vital points, it any damage is done there, the whole ship can be sunk. The front part, or hull, is such a part. Being responsible to make way in water, if a hole is made there, then the water will enter there and sink the ship.

"Nice shot lads!!!" Seeing that shot, even Chevalier praised the sailors.

That ship which got shot, started to sink. The other ship was fine cause it was behind the first one. The moment it crossed the sinking ship, it also shot its cannon. As Morrigan's cannon were still reloading, the ship had to turn to one side to dodge. The ball just fell in sea while causing a big splash. Finished reloading, Morrigan also fired. But, the other ship also dodged. The two sh.i.p.s were still speeding towards each other and had no intentions to turn. At that time, Shay ordered,

"Load the Left side cannons. Every single one is to be loaded." But still did not turn. Looks likehe wanted to ram the Morrigan in the ship. The other ship must have thought of the same. But when both reached 20m apart, Shay made the wheel turn slightly right. This slight turn moved Morrigan out of the other ship. The other ship's might not have any other plans, so it still just moved in s straight line. The Morrigan and the other ship crossed each other, at that time,

"Fire!!"

*BOOM!!* *BOOM!!* *BOOM!!* *BOOM!!!* *BOOM!!!!*

All five of the side cannon fired and with a larger damage and louder sound. The other ship was severely damaged and directly sunk. As the first ship was still sinking, Shay directly docked Morrigan near it and told his sailors to kill everyone on board and bring all the ammunition. The soldier sailors died by his, Liam's and Chevalier's hands. Sailors took every thing they could from the sinking ship. The sailors came with few more cannonballs and a few gr.a.p.e shots. The gr.a.p.e shot is a special ammo for cannon which is used to deal damage to a large area unlike the normal cannonball. It contains many smaller metal balls which fly out of the shell when it explodes, at a high speeds.

Seeing that a two sh.i.p.s were destroyed, another two came to finish off the Morrigan. The same tactic like before was used, but this time, gr.a.p.eshot was fired. The gr.a.p.eshot didn't managed to directly sink one ship, but still both the sh.i.p.s were damaged. Then suddenly,

"Everyone, careful!!"

a cannonball suddenly flew from above the heads of the ducked soldiers. The aim might have been the body, but came above. Another shot came from second ship, but exploded just before reaching the Morrigan and shooting the many metal balls inside. Luckily, no one died. but few were severely injured and lying. Seeing his crew got injured, Shay became angry. He ordered to load the side cannons from both sides and turned the ship 90 degrees from the enemy's ship and ordered to fire.

All five were gr.a.p.e shot. This group of gr.a.p.e shots did comparatively more damage and sunk one of the sh.i.p.s. The remaining ship was also not in much good shape. So, to save the ammo, Morrigan directy rushed to the remaining ship. The ship shot a cannonball at Morrigan, but missed. Morrigan directly rushed to the ship, and

"Everyone, brace for impact!!" Liam warned everyone while ducking.

*CRASH!!*

collided with the ship.

Due to being collided head on, the already damaged ship was unable to bear it and directly broke, sinking. The other two sh.i.p.s must have witnessed all this and chose to abandon the 4, they directly ran....sailed away.

"Sigh...since this garbage was able to help me, consider this as I owe you one. If you need any help from me in future, just come to me. This is the promise as the Captain of Le Gerfut." Chevalier said while going towards his own ship in a small boat.

Watching Chevalier sailing towards his own ship in a small boat, Shay angrily said to Liam.

"He should have just paid us. Who wants his favour?? can it repair my Morrigan??" Indeed when looked from a certain perspective, Morrigan also took a good beating. The ramming, cannonball, gr.a.p.e shots.

"Sigh.....let's just get to the nearest port and get the repairs done." Shay sighed helplessly.

"So, Captain, which course should I set next??" Liam directly asked him.

After thinking this for a while, Shay said,

"Let's go and report first to Mentor, then we will decide what to do next."

"Aye Aye Captain."
