Assassin Initiate

"Initiate??" now what's that?

"Let me tell you a story so you understand easily. Now if you will come with me." saying this, Lucy started walking towards a desk with two chairs on it's sides.

A very long time ago, even before the human civilization's ancestors, a species of people lived on Earth. They were highly advanced, whether in terms of technology or in terms of their own physical bodies. They were called The Isus. Current humans who know about them call them the Precursor, or The One Who Came Before. The current humans were actually a group of people made or produced by them to help them in work. The Isus made humans similar to themselves but with minor differences here and there, like less physical strength, lower IQ etc.

The initial humans had quite problematic personality like disobeying of orders, making mess of things etc. So to cope up with the problems, Isus made Objects of Power, called Pieces of Eden. With these pieces the Isus ruled over the humans for a long time.

During the ruling, a new hybrid species were found about. The Human-Isu hybrid. On these type of people, Pieces of Eden had no effect.

After being found and threatened, the first ever hybrids, named Adam and Eve, led the humans to revolt against the Isus. But due to Pieces of Eden, they lost and fled away from Isus, taking as many humans as they can with them.

As the Isus were already low in numbers, the revolution left them weak. With the leftover humans they started recovering.

"Wait, the hybrids, Adam and Eve....are they the Adam and Eve I'm thinking about??" I asked while interrupting Lucy.

"Yes. Those are the same. The first humans, written in various books." Lucy said in affirmation.

Holy hell, the history I think was old enough was nothing compared to this. This is really hard to digest. Well anyway lets listen to the whole story, my confusion might get cleared in the end.

Seeing me prompting to continue the story, Lucy continued,

"No one knows how, but at last Isus went extinct."

The humans who fled, somehow managed to survive, but they too were less in numbers.

They grew up just as we know in history, from chimps, but they had few hybrids among them.

Now, in the egyptian era, a group of people got together and used to control the egypt from the shadows, called The Order of Ancients. To counter the Order, a new group was founded, called The Hidden Ones. These two groups fought for the Pieces of Eden, found in some old tombs. The Order's objective was to rule over people using the Pieces. The Hidden Ones, for the peace of society.

Although the egyptian era is long gone in the past, the war still goes on. The groups changed their names. Order became Templars, and Hidden Ones became Assassins. Although the names changed, their objectives didn't.

The story ended, but my confusion didn't. If what she says is true, then these pieces must be very important....or dangerous?? Ability to control humans?? But if these.....things are this powerful, how powerful must be its creator?? I can't even imagine. But that raises a question...How did Isus went extinct?? What happened in the past which wiped out a race like this.

While I was in a daze, Lucy said to me,

"The Abstergo co. you work in...or used to is a Templar organization."

"But if what you said is true about Templars, what good will it do them running a company like Abstergo??"

I asked her, because as far as I know, Abstergo is only a company which works in technology R&D.

"The Abstergo which you know is just a mask or facade. The true Abstergo is very powerful and dangerous. The blasts which nearly destroyed the company might not even make the Templars flinch." She told me with a serious face with a hint of anger.

"How??" that's all I could say.

"Because the animus you just used was initially invented by Abstergo. It's purpose, to enter the people's ancestor's memories in search of Pieces of Eden."

I can only tell her to continue.

"The Abstergo forces people to enter the animus and collects the peoples memories, the people here are called as Subjects by them. And the numbers are not only in tens or hundreds but in thousands. They do so just underground of the company building, floors of people just sleeping in animus, just so the Templars can get any kind of info on Pieces of Eden."

Saying this, she took out a water bottle from below the desk and started drinking, Yep, talking this much, she must be thirsty.

"So...are you with this Assassin group??" I asked hesitatingly.

"Yes. And not just me, those two are also Assassins. Although they look normal, they can kill."

She told me while running her thumb across her neck, all while having a smling expression. This woman is dangerous, I better keep a certain distance with her.

She continued,"Actually now you too are a part of Assassins."

"But I don't kill." I interrupted while imagining gore I saw today. I shuddered while thinking that.

"Ah, don't worry about those, you will certainly be able to handle those things in future." Damn that smile. Now I worry about my future.

"So....what will my job be?" Sigh....lets think about future in future. Let's focus on present.

Hearing my question, Lucy had a...kind of.....troubled expression I guess. Still she said,

"Well, truthfully your case is a little different or should I say your case is a never seen before. That's why I changed my mind and asked for your help."

"How??" I fell like a maths enthusiast who encountered calculus for first time, only asking 'How??' at every point.

And there is Teacher Lucy explaining me,

"You already entered animus and did a Dive.....or tried to. What did you felt?"

"I just felt like I went to sleep, but was awakened again by.....something I guess. After waking up I just had some dizziness." I tried my best to explain my condition.

"Ok, I understand. Now let me tell you how animus actually works. Although I'm sure Rebecca must have briefed you about its working."

"Yes, Rebecca told me animus lets us relieve the memories of our ancestors."

"Now let me tell you the whole process." Then she started to explain,

When a child is born, he inherits the DNA of both the parents, sometimes one can be dominant or submissive, according to the strength of it This leads to the similarities of a child to his parents. But only looks are not inherited, any disease or something like that can be inherited as well. This inheriting can only go max at 4th generation, then it starts to fade away.

Animus proves this wrong by activating the hidden DNA which is of our ancestors, and got inherited to us. While entering the animus, your DNA is used to generate the memories, which we see in the dream. This 'dreaming' is called Dive. During the dive you go through all the experiences your ancestors went through. This lets you inherit, or learn the abilities as your ancestors learned.

"Your job as an Initiate will be to help us discover the location of Pieces of Eden." She concluded while saying that.

So that's what an Initiate is.
