Assassin Initiate

After talking to Lucy, I got to know many new things, like,

Initiate.

The one who dives in search for Pieces of Eden for the Assassins.

Subjects.

The one who dives in search for Pieces of Eden for the Templars.

Although they have the same jobs, they are still different in many ways.

Subjects are the common people who are forced to enter the animus. They can be anybody, old or young, male or female. The Subjects, once get in Templars hands are made to stay in animus till death. Yes, till Death.

I was also shocked when I first listened to this. Apparently, the animus can cause the consciousness of a person to get erased, resulting in 'death of mind'. Once a person becomes vegetable, Abstergo dispose of them. This is the reason Abstergo employs many people for the search of Eden.

Hell now I'm scared of animus.

Lucy, further explained to me about this as I became scared of my own job.

When a person enters the animus, he goes through the life of his ancestor. Sometimes those experiences are not something he can handle. When this happens, the ancestor's memories start to become dominant on his own consciousness. If he fails to get the situation under control, the memories destroys the person's consciousness, resulting in 'death'.

"Don't worry, if a situation like this ever arises, we will save you." Ah, those reassuring words. I hope that day never comes.

Anyways, back on the topic.

Initiates however are different from Subjects.

These people are extremely low in numbers when compared to Subjects.

The Initiates are people who are descendants of the Human-Isu Hybrids, or mostly are.

The reason I was given behind this is that if anybody ever came in contact of Pieces of Eden, then they must be Hybrids, because normal people can't use it and will only see those devices as antiques of value at most.

The Initiates here are not forced, as they are free to explore in the animus when they are comfortable. Wow, such a dreamlike working hours with a fixed salary.

The Initiates however also needs to explore the history, or past to have the data as synchronized as possible to the ancestors. This is just like you are give a map with only the path to the destination is shown. If you go out of the path, the data about the unmapped region will be updated.

As the Initiates mostly have Assassin lineage they also need to learn the skills from them.

The Subjects usually have common bloodline, so they stay as common one. If by any chances, anyone exceptional is found out, he is made to join the Templars.

Gosh, this is great Subjects don't have the skills, or the Assassins would already have lost.

*sigh* What a dangerous job I've agreed to.

Anyways, this still why would Lucy need my help? I'm also from a common line, My family history is also not exceptional or I would have been living in a grand mansion. How nice....

When I present my doubts to her before, she was also not able to reply swiftly. At last she sighed helplessly while telling me,

"As I mentioned before, your case is a unique one. You are history's first whose past can't be traced. It's like you just popped out of nowhere."

But that's not true, I still have my mom, and had a dad too.

"Anyway, I had my reason for asking your help. Firstly, I can't let you get in the hands of Templars. Secondly....your aura is exceptional."

"Au.....ra??" that's the reason for my job offer???

"Yes. Your aura or atmosphere around you is unique. I guess, that's also the reason Shaun and Rebecca got confused and brought you here. For a normal people, it might be missed, but for us trained Assassin, its not easy to be missed."

"Is...that so?"

"Although, its only a guess, I think your 'past' might be the reason for it. Because this kind of innate aura is not easy to get."

The things regarding history has already left me bewildered. Now this pops up.

"I think you should go tomorrow to Abstergo to get resign. If asked for reason, you can say that you don't feel safe after today's blasts."

"Understood."

Recalling the conversation and today's events, everything still feels surreal.

Assassins....Templars....Pieces of Eden.....War...These types of things were only in my fantasy, now I'm going to become part of it.

I can only accept this things and hope for best in future.

Ah, now that I remember, wasn't Desmond taken by those guards. I am sure the one behind these must be Templars. Hope he will be alright.

While recalling these things, I reached my home.

The place Shaun and Rebecca took me to was an abandoned warehouse. the warehouse was quite big and the place where they worked in seems to be the upper of the two floors which was smaller compared to the warehouse and only occupies a corner rather than a whole floor.

As the warehouse was quite faraway, Lucy had Shaun drop me to a place near my home as I felt like walking.

Ah, Home Sweet Home. My home is 3-floor building, rectangular shaped with dimensions...maybe 30x60. The first floor is empty as it was meant for giving on rent. The upper two floor is where I live with my mom and sister. My home is located quite a distance from the main city center so not many of those multi-floored buildings are around here. The street where I live is quite lively, since its evening, so all the neighbours are having their time with each other.

I just quietly walk towards my home and opens the gate and walk in. The gate is iron made and big, covering whole floor to ceiling. The gate is divided in four parts, so its easy and convenient.

closing the gate behind I directly took the stairs which were right of the parking area and went up.

Reaching the 2nd floor, the layout was similar to the parking but balcony was smaller than parking. I directly knocked the door.

*knock* *knock*

Then the inner door was opened from where a lady's silhouette came in view.

"Mom, I'm back."
