Chapter 12 - First Lesson and Fighting Wu Zhangkong!

"Today officially marks the start of your classes. Most of your lessons will be taught by me. Stand up," Wu Zhangkong spoke with a cold attitude.

Wu Zhangkong bringing the group of students to the field. "Line up in pairs, and stand properly."

Tang Xingxi was the tallest in class, after Zhou Zhangxi. The five roommates were once again standing together. Both Tang Wulin and Zhou Zhangxi formed a single file, with Yun Xiao and Xie Xie beside them.

Wu Zhangkong spoke deeply, "As I said yesterday, I shall be testing your abilities in battle today. Show me your true colours!"

"First group, prepare yourselves, we shall start from this end." He pointed towards Tang Wulin and Zhou Zhangxi's end.

"That's good. Let's compete with our strength! I don't believe your strength will be greater than mine." Zhou Zhangxi's eyes lit up as he directed his words at Tang Xingxi.

Remaining silent, Tang Xingxi just stood there, hand in pockets. Not even taking a stance to prepare.

Wu Zhangkong commanded the students to form a circle around the competing duo.

"You may begin. No rules as to how you may defeat your opponent," Wu Zhangkong pointed out plainly, but his words were directed towards the entire student body as well.

Zhou Zhangxi roared loudly, wide-eyed. His soul ring appeared as a white circle beneath his feet, the ray of light instantly flowing upwards, following the contour of his body. In the same moment, his massive build grew in size, particularly the muscles in both his arms, which were visibly swelling up beneath his school uniform.

A little brown monkey appeared on his shoulder. It seemed to be his spirit soul, a ten-year spirit soul.

First soul skill, Power Amplification!

Rushing towards Tang Xingxi, a small gust of wind was produced. His right hand formed into a fist, he punched at Tang Xingxi's direction, aiming straight at Tang Xingxi's face.

Tang Xingxi, on the other hand, stepped to his left and lifted his right knee with a disappointed face.

Crunch!

Thud! Thud! Thud! His momentum pushing him forward, the massively-built Zhou Zhangxi was hit by Tang Xingxi's half-hearted kick causing him to be pushed three steps back.

His face still as bored as ever, Tang Xingxi rushed forward and threw a punch straight at Zhou Zhangxi's stomach causing the unlucky youth to fly into the crowd, hitting two of the students.

Everyone's faces paled at the sight of Zhou Zhangxi flying from Tang Xingxi's punch. Wu Zhangkong, however, looked with interest instead.

After punching Zhou Zhangxi, Tang Xingxi went back outside into the circle of people, as indifferent as before.

After that scuffle, everything happened the same as in the novel except Tang Wulin fought someone with a pickaxe martial soul for the first round, and beat Xie Xie, using his grass to masterfully bind Xie Xie up like a mummy. Oh, and everyone who went up against Tang Xingxi, save for some arrogant people quit even before the match started.

It was the last round of the semi-finals, and my opponent was trembling. However, before the match could start, Wu Zhangkong stepped in and pushed the student out of the way.

He looked at me coldly before saying, "Tang Xingxi. as far as I'm concerned, you have already won this competition. However, because of this, I must test you personally to see your abilities as I'm pretty sure your brother won't be able to make me see your full power."

"Alright, just use your full power. I'm interested to see it," Tang Xingxi responded. Strangely enough, unlike anyone else, he actually felt happy to have a spar with Wu Zhangkong and had a wide grin on his face.

Putting his earphones on he switched on the soul-pod hanging on his right hip. Afterwards, he got in position and said, "I'm ready when you are."

Wu Zhangkong looked straight at the boy before shaking his head, saying, "Alright kid, don't blame me for what happens then."

Immediately after he said that a chilly ice-blue sword formed in Wu Zhangkong's right hand, sharp as the wind, and as beautiful as the snow. Holding the sword in front of his face, as if on cue, rings of light appeared from beneath his body. Two yellow ones came first, followed by two purple ones and finishing with two black ones.

Emitting fierce pressure and a piercing gaze, Wu Zhangkong looked towards Tang Xingxi and said, "Begin."

'Haha. Goddamn, he really doesn't hold back. I don't regret what I said earlier though,' thought an exited Tang Xingxi who was currently listening to a battle theme.

Releasing his spirits, a black set of scaled armour releasing wisps of black smoke covered Tang Xingxi's body except for youth's face. One half-yellow, half-purple ring appeared from behind his back. Reaching out his right hand, Tang Xingxi released my Starlight Orb spirit causing a half-yellow, half-purple ring and a completely purple ring to appear below him.

His half-yellow and purple coloured ring shone brightly and Leo jumped out of it, as stylish as ever. Using his first spirit ring's second ability, Cosmic Thunder Lion Form, Tang Xingxi's hair grew all the way to his back. If one were to look at Tang Xingxi's eyes and hair right now, they would compare it to the cosmos. His fingernails growing sharper and condensing into lightning blades, Tang Xingxi had the sudden urge to tear everything apart.

Releasing sparks around his body while grinning like a madman, Tang Xingxi looked at Wu Zhangkong before rushing toward him.

Activating his first and second soul abilities inside his Emperor's Set spirit's first soul ring, a green hue appeared on his armour as greenish-black shards which looked like scales detached from his body and flew to the side, increasing his speed.

Forming two curved shortswords, Tang Xingxi twisted his body in midair and struck towards Wu Zhangkong with the sword on his right hand and imbued it with lightning.

Wu Zhangkong lifting his sword and blocking the attack, sparks flew out from the confrontation between the two blades.

Time seemed to stop at that moment, and the only thoughts going through both Wu Zhangkong and Tang Xingxi's heads right now were, 'This is going to be interesting!'

Grinning slightly, Wu Zhangkong turned the block into a parry, flinging the Tang Xingxi's sword to the side. However, Tang Xingxi expected this and attacked with the sword on his left hand immediately after.

Feeling threatened by Tang Xingxi's attack, Wu Zhangkong stepped backwards and created a gust of cold wind, pushing Tang Xingxi backwards.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Rolling on the floor, Tang Xingxi got up, hands by his sides, still holding his blades.

Seeing Tang Xingxi smiling as if anticipating something, Wu Zhangkong realized something was amiss. Spreading his senses, he felt several small projectiles aiming straight at him.

Using his first spirit ability, Wu Zhangkong created many small blades surrounding him like a cocoon. Annihilating the swarms of what seemed to be greenish-black scales, Wu Zhangkong inquisitively said, "Come on, do better. I know you can."

Grinning, Tang Xingxi rushed forward, holding his hands together, he turned his two short-swords into a staff and started twirling it. On his side, over his head, he then front-flipped and twirled the staff above the ground before completing the flip and landing the staff on Wu Zhangkong's face.

Or at least, that was what was supposed to happen.

Right as he was about hit Wu Zhangkong's head, Wu Zhangkong started using his first spirit ability, Frost Scars, again but instead, hit smoke. Looking downwards, he then saw what looked like a ring of black smoke reaching for his side.

Indeed, right as Tang Xingxi was about to land the staff on Wu Zhangkong's head, he noticed something was amiss. This was due to repetitive sparring against himself in his spirit sea. While he hadn't actually killed anything, thus not actually being able to kill even though he knew how. However, due to the fights that left Tang Xingxi exhausted to the bone and still forced him to move, he developed a keen sense for danger and how to avoid or counter it.

Immediately after noticing the danger, Tang Wulin started transforming his weapon again turning them into two chakrams with draconic markings. Using the smoke left behind by his transforming staff, he then used his first spirit ability to poison the chakrams before swinging at Wu Zhangkong with his left hand.

Wu Zhangkong seeing this realized that his student aimed at his stomach right at the time when Frost Scars wouldn't be able to reach it. Realizing this, he took a step back before seeing his student follow with his right hand.

Using his spirit, he attempted to parry the attack of the chakram before realizing that it had already turned to smoke and was transforming into a new weapon.

Realizing the danger of Tang Xingxi's next attack, Wu Zhangkong retreated swiftly.

Tang Xingxi quickly turning, he finished the transformation revealing a beautiful katana. Imbuing it with his cosmic lightning, Tang Xingxi slashed forwards whilst also having his cosmic thunder solidify and shoot out in as a curved blade of thunder chasing straight at Wu Zhangkong.

Seeing this, Wu Zhangkong swung his sword down at the blade. While he did destroy it, the lightning did manage to straight-up disintegrate his shirt, coat, shoes and pants while also managing to make a shallow scratch on his cheek.

At this moment, it was also seen that he was wearing duckling-designed u.n.d.e.r.w.e.a.r which was partially destroyed from Tang Xingxi's attack.

Fuming with anger for no apparent reason, he said, "My…Duckling Undies…Are Broken!" whilst releasing a pure barrage of icy spirit and soul power straight at Tang Xingxi.

Pushed backwards by the attack, all Tang Xingxi could say was a yelp before crashing into the crowd of people.

Realizing what he just did, Wu Zhangkong moved forward and picked up Tang Xingxi. Looking at the students, he said, "Class Dismissed!" before stopping and calling out two people in the crowd, "Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, follow me. I need to see you in my room."

As Wu Zhangkong walked out of the field, carrying an unconscious Tang Xingxi and being followed by two other people whilst wearing half-destroyed duckling undies, he thought to himself, 'I can't believe it. A Soul Grandmaster, albeit a dual-spirit wielder, was able to make me fight a bit seriously and make me use my first spirit ability. Then, there's also a miraculous blue-silver grass spirit master and an agility-system which I know will become fearsome with enough training. I think I picked up a group of monsters in this class.'

Wu Zhangkong started to laugh at his thoughts. Realizing what he was doing, he tried his best to hide his emotions but failed to hide the wide smile on his face.

Meanwhile, people on-campus started to stare at the odd quartet walking towards the teacher's building. The highlight of the group was a half-n.a.k.e.d, handsome blue-haired man with a wide grin on his face, holding what seemed like an unconscious, beautiful blue-haired beauty in his hands.
