Astral Douluo

Chapter 13 - Aftermath and Discovery!

'Ugh, where am I?' thought a blue-haired youth. He had beautiful amber eyes, a slim figure and feminine face which made him look closer to man rather than a woman. This person was Tang Xingxi.

Looking around, he saw that he was lying on a red sofa inside a brown room. To his left, he could see another red sofa where Xie Xie and Tang Wulin was.

Getting up slowly, he looked at the interior of the room. It was plain and right by the big window at the side of the room opposite the door, there lay a desk and chair. Sitting on the chair, was a blue-haired man who's very presence froze the room.

"Brother! You finally woke up!" exclaimed Tang Wulin as he looked at his brother getting up.

"Oh, the freak finally woke from his slumber," said Xie Xie.

Tang Xingxi was now fully awake. Before he could reply to his two friends, the figure sitting on the desk spoke, "Tang Xingxi, Tang Wulin, Xie Xie."

Standing up, Wu Zhangkong walked to the trio and continued, "All of you, don't get too happy. All of you. You are only generals picked from the dwarves!"

Feeling as if a bucket of cold water was poured on them, the trio felt depressed. That is, except for Tang Xingxi who already knew about this thinking, 'Haha. This guy is still trying to hide his emotions.'

"Xie Xie!" (WZ)

"Yes!" Xie Xie replied quickly.

"Do you think hiding your twin spirits is fun!? In this day and age, twin spirit-holders don't have as big an advantage as they did in the past due to mechas and battle armour. Stop trying to hide them!" (WZ)

"b-but—" Xie Xie started to say before getting stared down by Wu Zhangkong. In the end, all he did was mumble, "okay"

"And you! Tang Wulin!" (WZ)

"Yes, sir!" Tang Wulin said fearfully. Tang Xingxi, almost laughing at the response.

"Your blue-silver grass is mutated. Is it's toughness supplied or supported by your spirit power?" (WZ)

"Yes." (TW)

"En. Also, what was with your pair of hammers?" (WZ)

"Um, my brother and I learned blacksmithing to support the family. My spirit is also blue-silver grass so…" said Tang Wulin. Tang Xingxi's face darkened when he said that.

"Was it so that even if you don't succeed as a spirit master you'll have another path to follow? Remember, you are my student. If you succeed, you carry on. Even if you don't succeed, still carry on. Never give up! Even your brother is mad that you're thinking this!" Wu Zhangkong angrily said whilst pointing at Tang Xingxi.

Looking at his brother, Tang Wulin realized the support he had and said, "Alright!" Inside, he thought, 'Even though I just got scolded, I'm happy knowing the support I have.'

[Tang Xingxi POV]

Finally resting his gaze on me, Wu Zhangkong spoke, "Tang Xingxi. Your abilities are outrageous for someone your age so answer me this. Why are you in class 5?"

After thinking for a moment, I replied, "Because of an incident that happened when we arrived ag our dorms, we got in trouble. I was exempt but didn't want to be separated from my brother as he was in class 5 solely due to his martial spirit. Also, I thought that the class with the worse-off spirits would be taught better because they have more work to do to reach the top."

Stunned for a moment at my answer, Wu Zhangkong started to laugh. Yes, laugh. The normally stoic Wu Zhangkong started to laugh.

When he finished, Wu Zhangkong looked at me with a softer expression and said, "That logic is completely flawed, but I can see how much you care for your brother and your determination to reach the top."

Clapping his hands, Wu Zhangkong said, "Alright, on to the main topic. There is a class promotion contest coming up soon, and the classes can challenge upper classes increase their ranking. My goal, for all of you, is to bring our class to rank 1! Now, during the time we have to prepare for this, I will be coaching all of you separately from the rest. Now, off you go."

My brother left out the door first, followed by Xie Xie. When I was about to leave, I stopped for a moment, and said, "Teacher."

"Yes?" Wu Zhangkong replied.

"You told all of us our faults, except for me. Xie Xie was too confident, my brother had none, but what do I have to work on?" I asked.

Looking at me stoically, Wu Zhangkong asked me a question which made me feel so stupid. He said, "You have a star spirit, so why do you use lightning?"

Lost for a second, I thought, 'Shit! he's right! How could I forget, I have a star-martial spirit! Why am I using lightning abilities!'

Grasping my head, I said, "Dammit! Thank you, Teacher Wu! I'll be going now!" before rushing outside the classroom, failing to notice the slight smile on his lips.

Running to the courtyard, I activated my spirit. Seeing the familiar ball of light exiting my body and the two oddly coloured spirit rings levitating from my feet, I called out, "Leo!"

Crackle! Boom! Leo jumped out of my spirit ring and landed right in front of me. I activated my spirit skill, eyes turning akin to that of a galaxy, My hair turning cosmic and white-multicoloured sparks of lightning flying around my body, I tried something.

Putting my hand on Leo's head, I told him (Yes, Leo is a boy), "Leo, Try to absorb all of the lightning on my body and take my lionic features and absorb them yourself."

Right after I said that I felt a stream of energy leaving my body. The energy itself felt warm and emanated with the roars of a lion and the sounds of flashing thunder. When the flow stopped, I looked at Leo.

Right now, Leo looked fiercer than ever. His previously wavy mane now stood up. Levitating, it looked similar to the sun. His mane now was a bright blue and his claws seemed to have increased in power. His eyes were of a fierce red galaxy. Yellow and blue lightning coursed through his entire body. Growing to about a meter tall, he looked like a blue version of Regulus Aurum from Strike The Blood.

Looking at myself, it also seems that something changed. My looks didn't change much, but my body seemed to have gained the properties of a star. I tried exercising control over the gravity around me, and the soil beneath me sunk about 5 inches into the ground.

Amazed, I screamed out loud and said, "Yes! I did it!" After doing so, I tried using different aspects.

Trying to make gravity's effect on me weaker, I managed to fly. After playing around with it for a few seconds, I touched the ground again and landed.

Thinking what else to do, I thought of the theory that light is both a wave and a particle. Remembering that I had the Starlight Orb as my martial spirit, emphasis on l-i-g-h-t, I managed to control light and make it form structures. Looking at a nearby tree, I tried to shoot a laser at it and saw a beam of white light come from my fingertips and create a burning hole in the tree.

Jumping up and down, I had an idea. I walked towards a tree to my left and tried to phase through it. I felt every single cell in my body change. Every part of my body started to turn white. Stepping into the tree, I exited on the other side.

"Yes!" I said to myself while clenching my fist, "I now have a phasing ability, control over gravity and light, possibly more abilities, and looking at Leo, who knows what he can do now!"

Turning around, I suddenly stopped and realized I was buck-n.a.k.e.d. Realizing I also phased through my clothes, I ran around the tree and immediately put my clothes on.

Feeling tired, I decided to continue testing my new modified spirit ability tomorrow. Deactivating my spirit ability, I started to walk to the dorms before feeling a bout of dizziness. Feeling that I was drowsy and that my body was losing control of itself, all I could manage to say was, "F***, not again!" before being met by the darkness once more.
