Chapter 7 - The wererabbit war

Chapter 7-The wererabbit war

After we discussed a few more minor details on the plans for defense Silica went and sat under a tree and look to start meditating. While the chieftain then gathered all the stone giants and started making construction a wall, which was stacking boulders on top of each other. They made one entrance in the wall meant for funneling the wererabbits if they became too much but seeing as the army was mostly composed of normal wererabbits that didn't seem to be a real worry. We didn't know when the wererabbits would arrive for the attack, but it was probably in an hour or so. I sat down on a nearby rock decided to call Felix, as I figured it was an excellent way to kill some time as I had a few things I wanted to ask.

-Click-

"Oh, hey Arthur, what's up? Need help with something?"

"Well, not really, I just had a few questions I wanted to ask about the quest lines."

"Sure ask away, I'll answer what I can, but you're on a quest no was able to get to so I can't answer too much. Also, I only have a little bit of time before I have to go so let try to keep this short."

"I wanted to know if in your quest line you ever had to deal with giant battles as it feels like I'm about to fight in a long war. I'm currently helping the stone giants as the wererabbits have a small army of about a thousand. It's making me a bit nervous because I've never done such a big scale solo quest and the high realism of this game certainly isn't helping me."

"Well don't worry about that man you'll get used to it that's why this game was all over the news right? For the high level of realism. Also, the idea of having to fight the wererabbits is the same throughout all difficulties, but the scale of the problem is different for each one. In hard mode there were a few large rabbit tribes, we had to fight and exterminate them, and in the end, we had one big battle after having the hardest finding them. The wererabbit lord in those modes are still too strong for us, but teachers help us kill the lord. It sounds like the scales of the battles on your quest line is going to be dragged out into a couple of battles. That battle you mentioned is the quest everyone who was able to kill the wererabbit general is stuck on. Its were the wererabbit lord makes his appearance, and we don't get any help."

"Really? Is the lord supposed to appear? It just looked like the army is just controlled by the wererabbit general, I didn't see any signs of the lord. I most likely needed to kill the general in this battle to complete my third quest."

"Oh you haven't killed the general yet huh well that makes sense as the lord probably isn't supposed to appear in that battle. Oh! Sorry, Arthur, I'm going to have end this talk here were about to fight the raid boss, so I talk to you later go ahead and send me a message if you need help, but it might take a while for me to respond as we're expecting this battle to take a some time."

At the same time I heard the war horns sound at the top of the mountains it means the wererabbits are approaching.

"That's fine thanks for answering Felix we can talk later. It sounds like the wererabbit army has arrived anyways so I'll try not to bother you if it not important. Good luck with your fight."

"Thanks man, you too."

-The call has ended-

I started thinking about my quest line. The wererabbit lord wouldn't appear, right? I mean because usually, everyone fails Silicas quest and heads back to camp after silica teaches them the skill tier 1 concealment that helps hide their aura. Which reminds me she hasn't taught that to me yet, has she? Well, I guess we are busy but anyways, after you start the scouting mission, you're supposed to run into and fight the wererabbit general, and if you kill him, it progresses the quest to kill the wererabbit lord who is impossible to kill by yourself. So maybe killing the wererabbit general to early is a trap on this quest line. If I kill him will it make my have to kill the lord next, but I feel like that's an end game battle?

Right as I finished my call with Felix, Silica walked up to me.

"Let's go meet with the chief the wererabbits are here."

I stood up.

"Sure, let's go."

The talk with Felix had helped me calm down a bit the quest line was feeling a bit too real for my taste, but at least I know the rewards will be worth it. Once I kill the wererabbit general, I'm going to be getting a new set of armor which should be helpful if I'm going to be fighting the wererabbit warriors and the lord in the future. I approached the newly constructed stone wall the giants built and meet with the chief to discuss how the defense is being set up.

"Ah, chosen, just on time, the enemy seems to have one thousand just like you told us they have mostly young rabbits. There's only five wererabbit warriors other and the general that leads them."

Silica cut in and said, "You're chosen here, is still too weak to fight wererabbit warriors, so I will take care of those if it comes to that, but we should try to delay them as much as possible and wait for our reinforcements like planed."

"Yes, I was hoping to send the chosen on the front line as I imagine the warriors won't fight until their army is lower in numbers. My brethren can't kill these rabbit, but they can distract them so chosen it will be up to you to kill them."

Ughh why do I get the feeling the reinforcement aren't going to show up on time, and I'm going to have to kill all of the wererabbits. At least it's not all bad although kills here don't grant exp, they still drop loot like rabbit furs and occasionally few bronze coins. Other than that Silica just said she would stay by the chiefs side and watch for any wererabbits looking to steal the key and she will join the fight once the warrior rabbits start to make their move if necessary.

I went forward and joined the other stone guards that were here. The door they made in the wall was just slightly bigger than two stone guards to walk through. They stationed two outside with me and 2 guarding the inside if we miss any. There were plenty more guards all defending along the wall if any wererabbits got the idea of trying to go over the wall although I don't think they could stop them if the wererabbits did, however, the young ones are stupid, so they would probably just attack the stone giants just for being in their way.

As I got outside to stand guard I noticed, the wererabbit were line up at the top of the hill in front of us. They were beating the drums like before and loudly cheering. The five wererabbit warriors surrounded Their wererabbit general, and he was standing on top of what seemed to be a table I guess to try and look cool? Anyways, they appeared to be building morale, and after them doing that for about 15 more mins the general yelled something I couldn't understand, and the wererabbits started running down the hill in a relatively organized manner for wererabbits. I figured this would be relatively easy as there were much weaker than my current stats, but as they approached, I noticed something different about them. They were white rabbits like normal, but there was this faint brown glow around them I decided it was a good idea to recheck their status.

Stats:Generals Aura-(Increase damage and speed by 200%)

Well, that's not good that general buff is going to make things difficult for me. At least there damage is averaged so only about half of there attack will do enough to damage me. Although they're just a bit faster than me now, their attack speed is still relatively low. As long as I focus the ones near me and try to take as little damage as possible, I should be fine, but this is going to be a bit harder than I had thought. I should've expected this from hell mode. As I was thinking all this, the wererabbits finally arrived a few did branch off like I had expected to try to jump the wall, but the stone giant threw boulder down at them and managed to kill a few.

The wererabbit ignored me initially and attacked the stone giants but after I quickly one shot a few of them they started to pay attention to me. I got hit quite a few time at first and as they were slowly whittling down my health. I began to get into a rhythm I attack the 2 in front of me but then turn around and dodge using quick steps. During the battle, I had realized the wererabbits seemed to love attacking from behind. The wererabbits managed to get my health to half, but after a while, I stopped taking damage, so my health started to regenerate.

After killing wererabbits for a while, I heard the wererabbit general in the distance shout something I couldn't understand again. Although I was surround and need to stay focused on the fight, I took a glance at the top of the hill. The 5 Warrior rabbits were running down looking to attack there were so fast that I had no doubt they could run circle around me I wasn't able to see their stats either which means they're much higher level or much stronger. As expected of taking my eyes off my enemy, I got hit from behind three times from behind the first damage I've taken in a while I turned around used quick steps and finished them off I didn't have the time to worry about the Warrior rabbits. Silica said she would take care of it so I just had to trust her although it's not like I could beat them If I could engage them.

As time went on the wererabbit army was slowly dwindled to about less than half its original size. The wererabbits seem to be becoming increasingly scared of me and aren't rushing me in as large of groups making it much easier on me. Since I was starting to have an easier time I took a look over at Silica fighting the wererabbit warriors. I could hear there battle this whole time but couldn't spare as much as a few glances here and there, but I wasn't able to understand what was happening as there battle was to fast paced for me to follow with just a few glances but now I could watch them.

Silica seem to have summoned a pet it was a white tiger it was running loops around the wererabbit warriors landing an attack here and there while Silica was firing arrows at them and jumping back when they rushed her. The white tiger always seems to step in to block them as well. It looked like a relatively easy battle for her at first. The wererabbit warriors Must have a large health pool, and she also appears to have a worried look whenever her white tiger takes a hit. I wonder if they deal a high amount of damage as well? It unfortunate though as all I can do is watch I can't help her battle…. or can I?

A thought suddenly occurred to me. The wererabbit generals buff is probably the reason why she's having so much trouble. So while the wererabbit warriors are held down by Silica, I could charge the wererabbit general. The normal wererabbit are mostly focused on the stone giants now as they've become too scared to attack me anymore. Although I might take a few hits from the wererabbits before I make it to the general, It would help Silica greatly If I'm able to kill him. However, can I kill him without help though?

Many people failed at soloing him although there were also a few who succeeded. Although this wasn't the smartest Idea, I had a feeling it's what I'm supposed to do besides I did have something the others didn't, the ability I got from Silica quick steps.

Quick steps(Tier 1)- Increase movement speed by 20% for the next 10 seconds(cd 25 sec.)Mastery 0-(64/100)

Although the cd is 25 sec, it lasts 10 sec so I could dodge a good few of his attacks putting me in the advantages position. After debating on it for a few more seconds, I decided to do it. I ran up the hill and although a few wererabbits attacked me on the way which I killed quickly without taking a hit. Most of them decided to ignore me which was helpful since that means I would have full health for this fight. I got to the top of the hill where the wererabbit general was standing on his table staring at me with hateful eyes. I check his stats which to my surprise I was able to.
