*Asura's POV*

*Clang*

I was startled by the sound of metal clanging and looked to my side.

There in a heap were chains, looking freshly forged with dark steel.

"So he wasn't able to complete the whole thing then?" I asked getting up.

"According to him 'The brat is lucky he's getting such strong chains, attaching anything to these in a reasonable manner would be too hard for me. I would either make the chains useless or the blade I attach to it won't be good enough'." Haku replied and I nodded.

It was a miracle that the Blacksmith found time to make the chains for me. I couldn't ask for more.

'Will he consider me saving him from the Monk as payment? Nah probably not.' I thought with amusement as I stood up and picked up the chains.

They weren't as heavy as I expected but felt quite unnatural in my hand as they got tangled.

The width of each link in the chain wasn't much but the chain was still solid, not ginormous but perfect enough for my purposes and useful with my strengths.

"How will you even use them?" Kenji asked, interested.

'You should ask what I plan to use them for.' I smirked internally before beginning to wrap the chains around my arm.

After around a dozen rounds the chains were wrapped completely around my arms, I loosened them a bit and the links fell down to my feet.

"You might wanna stand aside for this. I don't want any of you to lose your heads." I said taking steps toward a tree.

After an appropriate amount of distance I stopped and rankled the chain to check their weight with my full strength and they were light as a feather.

'Here goes nothing.'

I pulled up my right hand and the chain raised into the air before in a snap I swinged it across and hit the tree.

*Crack*

The bark of the tree fell off with a sickening crack producing a large wound in the tree.

"Wow. That was easier than I expected." I said aloud.

I had no doubts that I just looked like a idiotic fool making that move and to anyone else it would've looked as if I was crazy, my movements were erratic as all hell.

But the results speak for themselves or as i went forward to touch the tree they spoke pretty fucking loudly.

'How much stronger will this be if i practice it well?' I contemplated and turned to see Kenji and Haku staring at me in shock.

"Good thing you gave us that warning." Haku said with a look of incredulity plastered on his face.

Kenji just nodded in a look of approval.

"Your chains didn't change color." Haku pointed out as I sat down and took off the chains, still feeling quite uncomfortable with them.

"They won't for a while." Kenji replied calmly.

After drinking a bit of water he continued.

"Our blades change color depending on our proficiency with them alongside our Breath styles. As we just saw, his movements are anything but refined." Kenji said and I smiled sheepishly.

"I'll get better." I said with conviction.

"I've no doubt you will. But till then be sure to not use them unless you find a reason to." Kenji ordered calmly and I nodded.

" I haven't had the honor to meet him but I've heard the Rock Hashira has similar weapons. Do not feel that what you're doing is impossible." He added in the end thoughtfully.

We sat around and slowly but surely people started to return from the scouting gathering around us.

I got a few peculiar looks regarding the chains but not much else occurred till Inosuke, Zenitsu and Tanjiro returned.

"You idiots need to do things well." I said, giving them each a whack across the head.

"Hey we tried to run after you but you ran so fast! Did you even stop?" Zenitsu complained.

'No. No I did not.'

"Leaving that aside all three of you aren't hurt are you?" I said looking over their clothes to check for wounds and finding none.

"Everything happened so quickly. I don't think the demon was after us for even a moment. I smelled something foul and all of us ducked." Tanjrio said apprehensively.

" I felt drops on the floor and then above was this huge hot flame." Inosuke continued throwing his arms around for emphasis.

" By the time we looked up it was already gone." Tanjiro said sadly and I could do nothing but sigh.

" I should've given all three of you better instructions. No worries, we'll find the Blacksmith easily enough." I said with conviction though they still seemed skeptical.

"Nezuko?" Tanjiro asked, uncomfortable .

"She would be safe. I checked." I replied curtly.

"It'll be better to not have them with us for this. They're more likely to get hurt then help. The wolves too." I said pointedly at Inosuke who just grumbled and put on his Boar mask.

"It's been long enough. Let's go on that mountain." He said, still grumbling.

"We will." I said looking at the night sky.
