*Unknown POV*

The moon burnt bright on its skin, it shone with such luster that it would've surprised anyone.

Not itself.

He knew the bronze luster that floated from its skin when the moon shone on it, but it remembered the pain of being burnt by the sun, as well as a human remembers the method to breathe.

For the first time since the last moon it decided to open its eyes, they wrenched open with a dark sound first vertically and then horizontally.

It wasn't human. They would've been bothered by it.

It was far greater than such fears. What use was there of such fears for it?

It was wrought from Metal, a thousand humans would start a shrine around it and a thousand humans would be dead by the decade while their children continue to pray to it for prosperity.

They never noticed how it devoured their heirs, their loved ones.

They fell down on their knees in front of it while their friends would be screaming for help in its stomach.

It was pathetic. What use was a creature that couldn't control its fears?

The rustling of leaves brought it out of its musings.

Yes there was something that was promised to it a decade ago. It was owed to it and it was near.

It disliked having something owed to it. What use were promises when the gods could take your breath away and you'll be ash to be applied on statues?

No being owed wasn't something he considered favourable.

So it rose itself from its Mountain.

6 Collosal arms were connected to it yet all of them were buried beneath the Earth.

Humans were fickle creatures. It only had its head out of the Earth for two of its golden arms were brought together beneath the Earth in constant prayer while the other 4 made from Bronze would grasp for lost humans.

Granting them rest in itself was its duty after all. Surely the Gods had favoured it so for that purpose.

Now the 4 arms of Bronze raised it out of the Earth, shifting the Mountains peak aside to grant it passage above the earth.

It's body was shaped perfectly, just as the body of a true devotee should be.

With a huge Blackened stomach to store all the evils of humans it's granted rest and two small legs that were just enough to grant it the strength to walk.

For why would a pious being wander? Surely it was better to allow itself rest, the wounded souls would come to him for their redemption from sins. So the gods had granted it small legs to allow it uproot itself from the earth after having healed the humans of a land.

As it rose out of the Earth so came out carcasses of animals and birds from the Earth. Deep and twisted and broken.

It had devoured them before the sinful had found it yet it had left their bones. For the flesh was the harbour of the soul and thus the sins.

Humans were wasteful creatures, they had left it alone and for that it had to satisfy itself by helping the animals on the Mountains.

Yes, that was why he was owed in the first place. He had agreed to the request of a pious man, one who understood the faults of humans just as he did.

So it walked to the Mountain where the promise was made, it wasn't far by any means but surely enough for some sinful to be helped along during the journey?

Yes, that sounded pleasing.

And so it moved towards the Mountains, searching for what it was owed.

Author's notes: Yes it is a smaller chapter than usual and yes that was done purposefully. We're reaching the end of the Volume soon and honestly I liked writing this chapter this way. [There's gonna be another chapter in a few hours, I made two to go together to compensate for the lack of size].

It took a bit of research but I like how it turned out.

I did not wish to describe everything because that'll just be a waste of the mystery but I also did not want to add another POV to the chapter because that would take away from the Unknown POV.

Also I loved to add a bit more mythological semblance to it, this chapter helped me branch off for the later parts of the story so I can’t wait till I can publish those parts.

As far as I am concerned, I am fine and alive, just a bit chewed off because I didn’t score too well on a test.
