*Asura's POV*

"Well what's the plan?" I asked Kenji as I sat up straighter on the horse.

'Horses are smaller than I thought.'

"For now? We send people to probe inside the mountain, then get them to draw the demon out." He said with a clearly less painful throat than previously.

"Demons. We both know that it'll be more than one demon on that mountain." I added.

I was the second highest ranking person between all the 30 or something Corps members on this expedition and in Kenji's eyes my age was no issue against my rank so we had gone back and forth on suggestions, sometimes joined by others.

" Yes, it'll be more than one Demon on that Mountain, but our most important issue for now is the Lower Kizuki and saving the Blacksmith." Kenji answered as he walked alongside the horse.

"We have time to prepare, it's an hour perhaps two till dusk, we can start in a few hours so we might be able to hinder the Lower Kizuki into sunlight." I suggested and Kenji nodded for me to continue.

" We draw the threat of the sun over them, perhaps we'll get the Monk or the Lower Kizuki to not fight alongside each other. We keep them separated and we kill them if we can or draw them out into the Sun and don't let them escape till Dawn." I continued.

The plan made sense to me. The news about the Lower Kizuki was mostly given by the one near dying Corps member we found a few hours ago.

Everyone was appalled to see the man bleeding from both his arms, and his face was a mesh of bleeding flesh that leeched more and more  blood off.

He had managed to croak out some words about spiders and demon moons. 20 minutes later he was dead and half an hour later he was buried with not even a gravestone erected for him.

'I could've saved him. He was alive for long enough that my blood could've healed him.' I thought, dejected.

I couldn't help everyone, some things I wished to keep a secret for now yet it still hurt.

The grip on my shoulders tightened and I looked up at Horus.

"Fuck you want from me now? I flew for hours upon hours to get you what you wanted, I'm not doing more." Horus said but didn't peck me thankfully.

That brought my mind to the vial stuck in my 'Inventory'. Another secret to be kept but to not be liked.

"Nothing much i want from you for now chicken." I answered, bringing my hand to scratch Horus who preened not that he would admit it.

"Why are you being nice to me today?" Horus asked innocently as I continued to pet him.

"Well nothing much, you've been doing your job pretty admirably....."

"Really?" Horus cackled in happiness.

"..... And i can't pet Fenris since he isn't here." I added.

*Peck*

" Ouch. Okay I deserved that one. Sorry." I apologised even as I chuckled.

" You share a good bond with your pets." Kenji said as we got closer and closer to the mountain.

" Well I won't call them pets. They're companions, they've things they like, things they don't like. They help me and the least i can do is be good to them." I answered smiling though Horus looked appalled at the last words.

" I've decided that your plan has merit. The area around here is flat, we can see any demon approaching from miles away." Kenji said slowing down.

" If the demon doesn't have a Blood Demon Art that can find out about us right away, that is or one that can hide them while approaching us." I answered.

"Yes that is a possibility but for now it's better that we stop here, wait for a bit till it's night proper and then enter the mountain." Kenji argued and I nodded.

One of the best strategies was to wait and time when you fight a demon though not many people applied it.

'If I could get my hands on some statistics or some shit about how many demons are killed in different seasons we could improve upon this so much. ' I sighed but continued.

The Mountain looked over the distance surrounded by flat land in the front and a chain of mountains going behind it.

Slowly everyone came to a stop and started to prepare as the sky turned purple and the sun began to go down.

"Hey brother! See these!" Inosuke shouted, calling me over.

'Gods he's loud at times. The demons won't even need a blood demon art to find us at this rate.' I shook my head helplessly and walked over to my friends.

Tanjiro was testing his sword with a black and red scabbard that was filled with Luster in the light.

Haku was doing the same to his white and blue one while Zenitsu took one look at his sword and as if afraid of it, put it back into the white and yellow coloured scabbard.

"Mine's the best." Inosuke said proudly showing off his silver and green colored scabbard but the blade was a stark grey with green ripples alongside it.

'Did the color for this one turn darker?' I mused before going for mine.

Ignis felt good in my hands, crimson and black with a star shaped hilt and a blade guard to protect my hand while also making it better at cutting.

Vriska was more pointed and lighter with its moss green scabbard.

After testing both the blades out and finding them as natural to me as before I prepared the rest of my stuff.

The chains I had stored in my 'Inventory' though I had no doubt most people were wondering about it and Kenji might know, it was one of the slower ways of getting everyone used to my peculiarities.

I had no doubts we'll be on trial even after this mission. Better to not allow anyone to think I've been deceiving them and cut my head off.

The Kunai went into a leather pouch across my waist and we're firmly tucked in.

With the final lights of the sun disappearing I tied my hair in a simple ponytail, it was time to get some payment to the Blacksmith for his excellent work.
