Between The Worlds

The day just began, thus, the party of two already had met more than five enormous bears. Those bears were only problem for Raphel though. As he cried inwardly every time he met them, Raphel spotted yet another monster!

Snake...

"S-snake! Be careful, Elaine!"

The snake was quite long, at least 3m. The scales of this 'monster' were dark blue which looked quite nice with golden eyes shining brightly. While monster spotted Raphel, its eyes shone even brightly as it charged towards him!

"F.u.c.k!"

The earthling cried loudly as he began escaping. In this jungle, the trees were as large as skyscr.a.p.ers. Thus, using them, he planned to outsmart the snake! It was charging at him even though all he did was look a little. Also, its scales were way too beautiful compared to his own!

'Not only I became a snakeman forcefully, but also became an ugly one!'

While snakeman was running like idiot, Elaine became pertrified.

'Snakeman is running from... snake?'

The more time she spent with Raphel, the more she believed in her assumptions. Mostly because of Raphel clothes, Elaine thought Raphel is young master from some kind of snakeman tribe. And now, his actions confirmed all of this.

"Spoiled idiot!"

While Elaine was angrily looking at Raphel, the snake already caught up to snakeman and even coiled around his waist.

"Hyaaaa!"

Raphel screamed like little girl and was close to fainting while inwardly thinking...

'Why my tail isn't appearing?!'

Since he is in danger like last time, the instincs of snakeman should've already kicked in and beat the monster before him! Little did he know, the snake didn't even have a slightest intention of harming him...

And Elaine who was experienced knew this as well, even more, how could normal snake have hostile intentions towards snakeman?

"No! I refuse to die!"

Raphel began attacking the snake randomly with his little fists. But, it didn't even hurt the snake, rather it was enjoying this little massage as it lied on his c.h.e.s.t... Only after Elaine kicked Raphel in the head, he stopped his childish rampage...

"Oh..."

The snake was enjoying the sun on his c.h.e.s.t, thus, Raphel braced himself to touch it. With shivering hand, he slowly began to extend his arm with closed eyes... Elaine's eye twitched as she noticed this. Grabbing his hand tightly, she forcefully made him to touch it.

"Ohhh..."

It felt definitely nice. Elaine herself c.a.r.e.s.sed the snakes scales as she complimented. Raphel who saw her slight smile, braced himself once more!

"Seems like he likes me! How about I give him to you?!"

It was first time he felt girl's hand, but what was more important was that she had helped him tremendously here, in this jungle! Feeling as if he has somehow repay her good feelings, Raphel decided that this snake is good for present!

But Elaine didn't think nicely about that. Rather, the death scares once again penetrated through Raphel's head.

"I already have one spoiled and useless snake. Why would I want another one?!"

"..."

Just like that, Raphel got a snake pet for himself as they continued their journey through the jungle! On their way, they suprisingly got surrounded by four bears... Raphel had hard time holding himself... Being so close to fainting, he even thought it's fine to let his snakeman instintcs to do the work...

However! Raphel couldn't leave Elaine alone. If he truly fainted right now, then he wouldn't be able to even face her afterwards... Deciding that he has somehow to keep others busy, Raphel took several stones and branches provoking the monsters with those items!

Throwing like mad man, it was all he could do! Then, the bears suddenly speed up as they jumped aiming at his back! Feeling the similiar situation, Raphel jumped to the side dodging the attacks.

But it was enough to get close for one of the bears. As its paw was already close to Raphel's head, the snake on his torso moved! Clenching the monster's paw with its body tightly, the snake's eyes looked at Raphel telling him to end the monster quickly before the other comes!

Seeing that, Raphel had mixed emotions deep within his heart... but the most important question was... can he do it? Can he attack properly?!

As he thought about this, the sight of flying elf struck into his mind. Elaine was floating releasing the arrows non stop!

Magic...

Raphel who became snakeman in this world also should possess this! Thinking inwardly about magic, Raphel stood up and sent his fist towards the head of the bear, albeit, tremblingly... All his thoughts happened in one second, thus, the monster didn't raise his other paw yet!

Enormous bear who saw Raphel's fist opened his mouth suddenly aiming to bite it off! Soon, inexperienced Raphel experienced the tremendous pain as his arm began to bleed. However, his hand that was inside the mouth also released its attack!
