Black Jade Tiger

Chapter 13 - War potential

The men became baffled once they arrived at the scene.

There was a tiger the size of a small horse fighting tooth and nails with a man dressed in black warrior-style clothing.

His clothes were now mostly thorny and shredded, beyond any recognition.

They took to the shadows to observe the situation while one returned to the camp to report the scene to the overseeing general.

Meanwhile, the fight between tiger and man grew more intense as both sides wanted to either subjugate or destroy the other.

ROAR!

Thunder started to emanate from the imposing black beast. Its eyes glowed silver, slowly changing to amber, then to blood red.

It was a sign that the beast was enraged.

Its claws met steel, and powerful electric-filled blasts spread toward all directions as the blows were countered or deflected by the black-garbed man.

Both sides seemed to be equally matched and neither had the intention to let the other one walk away. They both failed to see that they had been discovered; the blast and fireworks could even be seen all the way from the town!

Kenshin, who was playing a solo game of chess, lifted his eyes toward the sky high light show.

His brows furrowed together and eyes narrowed slightly. He disappeared from where he stood in a blink of an eye, only to reappear on a high tree that gives a clear view of the battle scene.

He was slightly taken aback by the display of strength from the tiger cub he had conveniently picked up without much effort.

This gave rise to the thoughts of war potential of this creature, it is smart, tough and sturdy plus it had an obvious high level of strategies and thought process quick to make decisions.

He couldn't help but curve his lip up a bit.

It was a rare gem and he had easily won it over.

Now he had to make it so it had to obey him setting up a snare so it couldn't and wouldn't break away.

As the battle continued to rage between that unknown pawn and the tiger, but it would be about time for him to step up to the pawn could be used to gain the tiger's trust it's only options would be fleeing or to be captured.

It would then break the fight.

Before that division of his fifth brother comes over and tries to steal his precious new pawn.

In a fracacing and deafening roar as katsy launched a powerful breath type energy filled with raging wind and filled with storming lightning strikes.

Her whole body being electrified as she prepared to launch it knowing she is running out of time before that army arrives and make the matters a whole lot more complicated.

Just as she was going to launch it her mouth was forcefully shut and her energy dissipated into oblivion, two fingers held her snout shut.

A white robe fluttered in front of her eyes looking at the shape of the person that held her snout and blocked the impact at the same time.

Jerald was taken aback he couldn't believe his eyes the crown prince the eldest prince! He was even shutting the snout of that hateful tiger that had refused to surrender to him. Yet the prince had effortlessly pinned it down.

Jerald bends down to one knee and spoke with his head down.

"This subject greets his highness." He could feel his cold sweat ran down his back as it soaked the back of his cloth.

Kenshin stared down at him with a satisfied look.

From her angle, Kats couldn't see his expression correctly while he didn't even let go of her snout, although it was only two fingers she just couldn't break free!

Growing frustrated with that pincher hold on her snout, katsy gave Kenshin a punch to his waist to remind him that he was still holding her precious face…

But no matter what she did, he seemed to ignore her protest and solely focused on the man in front of him.

"This prince wonders what this lowly one is doing in this prince backyard," he spoke neither arrogantly nor too slowly making those word sound even eerier and domineering.

Kenshin's low tone felt ice cold as if a bucket of thousand-year-old ice had been poured out on the man.

Knowing now that he had made a horrible mistake Jerald tried his best to salvage his going from bad to the worst situation.

"This lowly one saw a dangerous beast and wanted to capture it for his highness this lowly one wouldn't dare have thoughts of such magnificent beast for himself. This one wouldn't dare. Really wouldn't dare... "

The more he spoke the more he seemed to seal his own coffin, making Kenshin's lips lift in that ever slight ark that made his trade smirk when he caught someone red-handed and was treated as blind...

"So this beast entered the backyard after you gave chase to it?" The man seemed to miss the mockery in the tone as he further continued to seal his own doom.

The man nodded as if a life straw had been given.

"Yes, yes your highness this is what happened."

He then started to recount the event twisting it in his favour saying the child that laid further down was a thief. That he had pursued until they encountered the tiger and that where a fight between him and the tiger broke out.

Marking himself as a righteous honourable man while dragging the child and tiger down into the mud.

Meanwhile, in a dark corner of a tree, three shadows sighted in their own mind, not daring to make any sound, that eldest prince was far from simple and if they let their guard down they would be spotted.

They needed to report to their general, the heir is keeping a close tab on the tiger and it wouldn't be easy to steal it. Also, the tiger held quite the powerful force and wasn't ordinary both in mind and strength.

They quietly made their exit unknown to either Kenshin or Katsy, but the next morning the mercenary camp had lifted and gone without a trace...
