Black Jade Tiger

Chapter 14 - It belongs to the crown prince

"You're saying that this prince's pet would leave the backyard with its handler to be stolen?"

He spoke the words slowly, infusing how unlikely the event he had spoken of would come to matters in reality.

Would the servant of the prince go out with the pet the prince is rearing?! It's very unlikely!

Jerald clenched his jaw, he knew now that it was hopeless, he had hurt the caretaker of the tiger which belonged to the Royals.

And not just any royal, it just had to belong to the crown prince, how screwed, was he?!

Even if he had three heads and six arms, he could never make up anything to change the facts!

"This lowly one… This lowly one did not know that the tiger was already your highness' belonging, this lowly one only wanted to capture the thief! This lowly one thought that it was stealing your highness' creature..."

Now he was shaking in his own boots uncontrollably. If he didn't want to end up dead, he would need to have committed a lot of good deeds in one's past life to get good fortune...

"Oh." He infuses the 'Oh' as he spoke it clearly, indirectly stating that he wasn't buying any of it.

"And how should this prince deal with you now? Not only did you trespass on this one's backyard, yet you also hunted this prince's pet tiger and caused harm to its favourite handler."

The atmosphere kept growing colder as the words were methodically spoken.

Finally, Jerald released Katsy's sorry little snout!

She sent a nasty glare toward Jerald, if she could dig out his soul she would!

That bastard had harmed her little Dove; He couldn't die, it would be letting him off easily!

Going next to the child who lay unconscious, she ignored the man that had fought tooth and nail against her, he wasn't important enough for the meantime as her pressing concerns were Dove and her wounds.

Kenshin turned around to pick the child up; After all, she still had her uses, as long as the tiger liked this child, he could use it to control the beast.

Katsy failed to see the odd flash that sparked through his eyes, obviously unaware of the shackle that was brooding over her head slowly.

Kenshin spoke firmly.

"You harmed this prince's valuable, this prince has to find a punishment for you, but the one you wronged is this prince's people, hence this prince will let his people decide your fate."

That same cold evil smirk still curled on his lip, the best way to make this tiger happy was to hand over the man for it to vent its anger on it.

Katsy walked next to Kenshin as they advanced towards her own courtyard where Fire Drake and Sparrow would be doing their own chores.

Both of them saw Kenshin with Dove in his arm and Katsy walking towards them; They knew something had gone wrong, they went forward to meet with them.

Sparrow's heart clenched tight at the sight of his little sister being half-dead and unconscious.

He looked at the tiger, the question burning on his tongue, but it would be impolite for him to ask as he is merely a servant.

Of course, Katsy understood his thoughts and told him not to worry. She wouldn't let little Dove suffer, they needed to fetch a physician first; She would explain later, right now the most important thing was to save the little girl's life!

Kenshin tactfully gave Sparrow a token that would allow him to summon an imperial physician in the name of the Crown Prince, Kenshin.

Kenshin looked at the little boy as he darted off after receiving the token and quickly made his way to find one of the imperial physicians.

He had no time to lose on things that could be told later, his little sister was in need of immediate medical care.

Kenshin's eyes were drawn to the boy, he knew the tiger could communicate via the mental link established by the contract. He also knew that the beast he had under him could do the same but it was a lot less smart.

Its decisions were not as sharp as it could not play chess nor any human "games", but this tiger could make sharp decisions at critical times and it was capable of deep thinking.

His gaze fell once again on the girl. His beast would never endanger its life for him; He could lose control and consciousness and for a fact, the darn thing would let him die. Spiritual beast, in general, would rather abandon a fallen master and save their own skin.

An unbearable feeling of jealousy started to fill his heart, no matter how he looked at it, the child was pitifully sick and had a trash physique.

Out of the three servants, the tiger had chosen, it was the worst and yet it pampered it with care, treating it as if that scrawny little thing was its own blood kin.

He treated the beast well trying to coax it into becoming his, yet the darn thing behaved like a spoiled kitten toward a child that was not even worth a fart!

The most annoying part was that it was protecting it like a mother hen…

The only lucky part was that this tiger was young, even if it was highly intelligent it could not know that having three servant contracts could actually restrain it.

If a servant was killed, it would cause harm to the master, not gravely but serious enough to be troublesome in a fight. Hence most cultivator only used strong creatures as servants and rarely used by other people.

It also drained mental and vital force from the master to maintain the link between them.

The child wasn't truly cured as her condition was maintained by the master link, taking its vital force to stay alive.

But of course, he had instructed the physician not to cure, but alleviate the pains and reduce the fever while the link stabilized.

After that, it would be used to weaken the tiger, just enough to keep it manageable by him.

Killing all the servants would gravely injure the tiger and exhaust the mental power; Once the servants have grown up, would they cause greater damage.

The longer a link was established, the more damage it would deal once severed. No matter how powerful its mental ability was, this tiger would be his in the end.

The tiger was raising its shackles without it being aware…

:Sparrow:

My heart jumped terribly fast as I ran towards Imperial Physician Fa.

"Honorable physician Fa..." My voice was trembling as I was out of breath from running all the way.

"Yes?"

The old imperial physician turned around as he looked down at me with a perplexed expression; He knew that I was the little servant boy of the Divine tiger, some calling upon him meant something was wrong.

Furrowing his long white brows the old man gazed down as I took back my breath.

"Honorable Fa, His Highness summons you to come and take a look at my sister, she has been severely wounded."

I spat out the orders as I take out the token of the crown prince.

"Someone! Bring me my medicine trunk and a fast carriage, we need to head to the Divine tiger's forest."

The servants ran to get the heavy trunk and load it into a small carriage with two fast horses pulling it.

A road had been made from the crown prince's courtyard to the tiger's courtyard, but it still took thirty minutes at top speed to reach, and it had taken me more than one hour to run down.

The divine tiger's courtyard was extremely isolated, no one dared to come over; Even if i knew very well that my master is a kind being, other people would judge it solely by its appearance.

When I thought about it, I wondered what happened to my little sister for her to be so seriously injured.

Recalling it now, my master had wounds on her body too; My heart was aching as if pins and needles were piercing it.

Once we arrived, Fire Drake helped me carry the c.h.e.s.t over while following the Imperial Physician to Master's room where Dove was laid down and curled up against the huge beast.

The scene was quite beautiful as well as pitiful with my sister being in such a sorry state; His Highness was standing near the window eyeing the physician.

Master Katsy opened her eyes and I could hear the man on the side swallowing down his saliva as he looked at my master. Obviously, the aura around my master is very fierce even when she tries to tone it down…

Master spoke to me via our common link.

"Tell them I said that everyone except for you and the physician needs to exit… they are after all unrelated men and to treat a girl in front of them would be uncivilized." Pressing on the last word, she spoke gently as she always had.

Placing my head down as I prepared to speak her words, I am obviously scared to offend the crown prince, but my Master is right.

My little sister is a girl and where would her virtue go if Drake and the prince stayed? Could she still hope to get married after that?

Steeling my resolve, I spoke resolutely.

"Your Highness, Master Katsy said that both of you should now exit so the physician can start the treatment."

Fire Drake had already started to leave as I had spoken, Master had already asked him to tactfully make his exit; Turning around toward the crown prince Drake spoke.

"Your Highness, please come this way." His undertone hinted that it was improper for them to stay.

I remained in the room looking at the prince as he walked away falling into his own thoughts.
