Black Remnant

Chapter 31 - Sky Heaven's Emperor

-Lair of the Mythical Beast-

Morning has come and everyone seems to be having a bad time considering they consumed all of Bahura's stored strong wine.

"Ugh... My head freaking hurts! Man, I want to go home..." Bahura wobbly stood up to find water. Looking at the place, it seems there's something weird.

Unlike last night, the house is now covered in dust. The chairs, tables, and even the roof are not in good condition, basically about to fall off. It's like it's an abandoned house for a very long time.

"Am I still dreaming or am I at the wrong place because this place doesn't look exactly the same as last night... at all. Wait... what the hell is..." Bahura's eyes widened as if he saw a human skull and bits and pieces of bones.

"Hey guys, wake up... I think you guys should wake up..." Bahura felt like there's something wrong with this place.

Annoyed by the voice of Bahura, "Shut up! Can't you see? I'm sleep... *ACHOOOO!*" It seems like Tanti's not good with dust. "Why is it dusty all of sudden? Was there a sandstorm or something?" He rubbed his eyes and upon looking next to him, there's a skeleton lying around.

"Oh, shit..." Tanti said freaking out.

"It looks like the old man was a ghost..."

There are stories that sometimes, spirits of the dead linger around the realms of the living to satisfy their last wish and it seems, somehow, they were able to grant the old man's final wish.

"Jeez... well I think that was a good experience after all. Though it still creeps me out thinking about it." Bahura looking at the place, the memories are still fresh. He thought, 'The old man should have been a founder of this realm to be this old.'

Then he remembered something else, "Wait... what about the little kid?" Curious and a little afraid at the same time, he went inside the room and... he can't believe what he saw.

The kid is right there sleeping in a wooden bed hugging a dusty pillow, it broke his heart knowing that it was because of them that the old man finally left the world of the living, leaving the little girl behind. That means the kid is now all alone so he decided to take full responsibility.

Getting near the kid, "Hey kid, it's time to wake up."

Rubbing her eyes after waking up, she stood up and tried to sniff something but the expression from her eyes suddenly changed. She panicked and started running trying to find something or someone around the place but she couldn't find what she's looking for.

Then... everyone felt a tremendous amount of qi that even the others who are sleeping opened their eyes out of surprise.

Then, "KYAAAAAAAAAAH!" A loud screech of some sort echoed from the young girl that shattered every piece left from the building and knocking everything away from her leaving nothing but dust around her.

"Shit! Who the hell is she?! Is she even a human?! Where the hell did she come from?!" Rarna couldn't believe his eyes. Black qi flowed around the young girl's body, even creating a claw made of qi as well.

"Don't ask me, how am I supposed to know? We're screwed!" Bahura knew that even for him, he won't stand a chance against her.

"She should be the mythical creature clan leader was talking about. Shit, we're screwed! How on earth did she get mad like that?!" Clueless as he only woke up like Rarna, Nou prepared himself for the worst-case scenario.

Trying to calm down, Bahura is trying to be logical and thinking of a strategy. Even the strongest have a weakness, he needs to do something quickly before it could get any worse. "Rarna, pin her down with your spear so Nou could use his disabling arts." Orders suddenly came out of him while the others could only think of saving themselves. As a born leader, he's natural at ordering people around.

"Shit, it's not like we have a choice! BLACK STING ART! FISHERMAN'S SPEAR!" Rarna threw a spear with great speed reaching the young girl in no time but...

*CLANG* 'What?!' Rarna couldn't even leave a scratch on her. The spear hit her leg but her skin made of qi armor was so tough.

It might have failed but it was a good distraction as the young girl's attention was focused on Rarna. *CLANG* Another failed attack came from Nou. His sword, covered in paralysis poison, didn't even pierce through. A close up attack but still not good enough.

"That's a high-level Qi Armor, attacks even from Peak Masters won't be able to penetrate. Our only way of defeating her is by hitting her with my all-out attack." Bahura's their only chance of escaping alive.

*ROOOOAR!* Loud screech once again echoed throughout the place. The young innocent child earlier became an image of a small beast with huge claws, long ears, with a thick tail and colored with pitch black. Screaming not because of anger but the pain of losing someone important to her.

"Are you sure you're going to fight that thing, brother? We're definitely going to die if that thing hit us. We still have plans for the future, right?" As always, Tanti always wanted to think straight. He's reasonable and that's why Bahura thought he couldn't be a real leader.

"It's the risk that what makes us alive." Bahura said, summoning his adamant armor and his longsword.

"Yeah, and it's what makes us dead as well... but yeah, as if I have a choice." Tanti, summoning his knuckles made of qi.

"Now, let's get on with it shall we?"

...

After a couple of hours of fighting and the will to survive, they were wiped out in the end. The famous fisherman that captured a water-type 3-star magical beast, the beast that roars through the night making even the strong beasts flee, the infamous alchemist who uses poison to incapacitate or kill enemies, the brute force and known as the destroyer, and, the kind-hearted leader of the Black Petal Guild couldn't even stop a young girl. They knew from the start that they wouldn't stand a chance but to them, it was the best experience.

Tanti, lying on the ground tired, "Shit... are we going to die or what?" They might be severely injured but not to the point where they're about to die. It's like the beast they're fighting wasn't aiming to kill them from the start.

"Was it fun? I think she was just having fun with us." Bahura, also lying on the ground smiling.

"Do you mean, making fun of us?" Tanti, as well.

"Look at Fang, he couldn't even snore anymore after roaring with her but he didn't stand a chance." Nou watching Fang who's dead asleep after exchanging roars with her.

*BOOOOOOOM*

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a loud explosion happened to the young girl's location who's currently resting after fighting with the five idiots.

"What the hell was that?!" Bahura tried his best to sit up just to look at what happened and he saw someone he wasn't expecting to appear at all.

The young girl was sent flying through the dark forest hitting every tree on the way. A powerful attack came from someone he knew while floating. Only one person could use a lesser levitation with the rank of an Emperor.

"Clan Leader Yion!" Bowing his head, Bahura knew no one could do something like that but only his Clan Leader.

"Making troubles again, Bahura of the Black Petal Guild? I agreed with your request of going to the Dark Forest but I see you had a little detour." Yion showing displeased.

Bahura knew he's in trouble while the others looked away to avoid getting the blame but...

"I'm so-" Before he could even say anything to Yion,

*BAAAAAAAAM* Yion was sent flying as well very far. Everyone's jaw dropped after what happened that even the greatest being of Xaltan's Realm couldn't stop the attack of this young girl.

'What?!' Yion couldn't believe someone could hurt him. A drop of blood on his lower lip showed that he felt the girl's power. 'Blood? It's been so long since I fought with someone who could really hurt me. I think I would have fun a little bit.' He's into their little game as well.

Loud explosions occurred after Yion and the young girl exchanged blows sending shockwaves, destroying everything at their wake and even those people at the Sky Heaven City were able to witness the fight between the two after Yion finally gone all-out against the young girl.

"Who would have thought that even our Clan Leader would fight like this. The graceful and respected Clan Leader fighting like a beast against a beast." Bahura and the others couldn't take their eyes off even if it's hard for them to follow the movements of the two.

Their fight lasted for a whole day.

Yion who was wearing a long dress made of top-grade material for the battle is now topless and pants that are about to be torn apart, severely injured. The young girl's qi armor finally disappeared as well and now sleeping on the ground.

Yion sat down on the ground next to the young girl. "Finally... too bad, it has to end this way." There's one left thing to do for Yion.

He summoned a sword and is about to end the life of the young girl. He knew that letting someone like her loose would cause more damage not only to his people but also to the future of humanity.

"Don't!" But Bahura stopped him.

Baffled by Bahura's reaction, "What do you mean don't? You saw what she can do, right?" Yion couldn't let this girl live.

Bahura slowly crawled as he still couldn't walk properly after fighting the young girl, he lied next to the young girl. "I'll take care of her. She's still a kid. And as you said, I saw what she can do and maybe one day, she might have a place for humanity's revenge, right?" Yion couldn't disagree with him as he knew she really would be an asset for his plans.

The others couldn't agree with his idiotic ideas but... "Fine... just make sure she won't be the humanity's doom. She's not allowed to enter the Sky Heaven City too so keep her hidden away." Knowing that it could backfire.

Bahura waited for the young girl to wake and upon opening her eyes, tears flowed endlessly.

"It's alright now. I'll be here for you." Bahura felt pain inside his heart but then he remembered...

*PATS* The old man used to pat her head so he tried as well and with that, the girl responded with a hug.
