Axel's life unexpectedly ends in a house fire. Following his death, a disembodied voice tells him there wasn't enough information to judge his character. So, Axel is sent to another world to give them more time to decide.

In this new world, he joins the Calarian Magic Guild and discovers he has an abnormally high magical aptitude.
