Chapter 15 - peter- Part 3

"Y-yeah I'm o-okay." I croak and curse myself mentally for sounding so weak. But I can't help it. I tend to get nervous around people of my age-group, especially around the ones belonging to the opposite s.e.x and the guys who look as handsome as the one in front of me don't really help either. I had surpassed that phase with Nick but with this guy right here- it is just the beginning.

I clear my throat and give a nervous laugh, "I'm just a bit clumsy." I laugh again and it gets a whole lot awkward. The guy probably noticing the effect he has on me flashes a perfect grin which one would describe as angelic. Woah. I gulp, raising my gaze from his deliciously beautiful lips, I fix them on his eyes.

Okay you shouldn't have done that.

His dark brown eyes hold my gaze for what feels like an eternity- it's hypnotizing and I notice his arms are still holding mine as well.

What the hell are you doing?

Trust me, I don't know.

I shrug him off- now why did I do that?! He's taken by surprise and a frown starts forming on his lips but he recovers quickly. I take a few steps backward, maintaining a healthy space between us as if standing too close to him will melt me.

There's uncomfortable- at least for me- silence for about half a minute but then he puts on the same angelic grin once again and asks me with a coy tone, "Well, so am I supposed to call you Miss Clumsy or do you have a name as beautiful as your face?"

Instantly, my cheeks up and I feel more nervous than ever.

Oh, come on! That's not the first time someone has called you 'beautiful'.

My inner voice is right this time, so right that I feel my heart crush as the memories of someone equally good looking calling me 'beautiful' about a hundred times flashes across my mind. How long has it been since Caleb broke up with me? Just a day. Yet it feels like a long time ago. A little smile which had formed earlier on my face is immediately replaced by a frown.

My eyes which had lowered rise up and I'm made aware of his presence yet again. He lifts up his eyebrow, waiting for an answer. I brush off the frown and clear my throat, "Oh, I'm sorry! I'm-"

Before I can tell the good-looking guy who is standing in front of me in this certainly haunted manor house for god knows what reason, I'm interrupted by a familiar, cool voice which answers the question for me. But, is is an answer I was least expecting, "Call her a 'human blood-bag' and consider her to be just that, Samuel. Well, at least for now but let's hope she is of more use than just that."
