Chapter 34 - special powers.

"Probably because they didn't want you to do magic. You said you lived with your stepmother...Was she a witch? Did she practice witchcraft?"

"No. She was normal. I wasn't aware of my own self being a witch like a few moments ago! Wait does that mean my biological parents did that deactivating spell?" my lips had begun to form a frown.

"Do you know who or where they are?" Samuel asked with genuinely concerned expression on his face.

"It doesn't matter to us, Sam. We don't care about that. She's a witch and that's all that matters right now." Nicholas spoke for the first time in a long while in toneless voice.

"I said it already. They might be dead for all I know." I turned my eyes away because I didn't want anyone to see the anger my eyes held in that moment.

The bad vamp turned to Peter and asked him to have a look at my birthmark. When he did, his eyes widened for a milli-second but then he spoke in a calm voice, "It is a unique birthmark, a kind only witches have. It must signify a special power. A power that only certain witches are gifted with."

"Will it be of our assistance?" Nicholas questioned.

"Probably." Answered Peter with a hopeful smile.

"Does the mark say anything about bloodlines?" his voice sounded flat, his face devoid of any expression.

"As in, whether other witches from her bloodline have same mark? Why do you ask?"

I, who had been quite happy to know that I was a gifted and powerful witch gasped at his reply, "I knew a witch back in the 18th century who had a similar mark. Well, she betrayed me so I ripped her heart out; killed her."

Peter looked alarmed as well, clearing his throat he spoke, "Probably not. It's the powers which are same among them."

His face turned more bitter, he glared at me for a while, his lips set in a thin line and then looked at Peter again, "Hmmm. Begin with the magic classes right away. Remember, we don't have much time."
