Blue Devil

Chapter 43 - Ghosts Big Adventure.

"Good, keep practicing that while I go get the other amulet, the signatures shouldn't be that different so I shouldn't be gone long." Nick said before he teleported away leaving Ghost to his own devices.

'Mmm, maybe I should trying traveling to great-grandfathers with my new abilities, he'll be surprised.' Ghost thought happily before he activated his jade armour and using its abilities to open a portal to where he smelt Logan.

Ghost first let out a ground shaking roar that opened up a portal in front of him, showing a forest on the other side, he could faintly smell the scent Nick had on him when he came back from visiting his grandfather once.

Without hesitation Ghost jumped through the portal he made, it soon closed up behind him with a crack sound, like from a whip.

...

Once Ghost was on the other side he dropped his jade armour and started following Logan's smell, after he got closer to the source he started to also smell bats and a wolf, they reminded him of the creatures back on his home island and that meant he was in for a good fight, Ghost grinned at the thought, a deep growl escaping from his throat as he sped up, using his new speed and strength from the amulet to get there fast.

He quickly catched up with a speeding carriage that was in the middle of burning down, inside the carriage was a man's scent, a woman's scent and then a scent that confused him when he got closer, like dirty water and week old road kill but that's not what was weird about it, it was that the smell seemed to be alive with heat and he could also hear a powerful heart beat from the smell which made no sense to him, he would have to ask his great-grandpa when he got to him.

He could even see him now, in the front of the carriage, near the horses, but he could also see the wolf he smelled before, it was on top of the burning carriage looming over Logan and it looked like it was about to attack him.

The wolf was unlike any it had seen before, the ones on his home island were normally a little smaller then him, but this one seemed to walk on its back legs and had a more human like structure, the human like hands were also different to other wolf's, it really would be a good fight.

Ghost acted fast in protection of Logan, jumping in-between the wolf and him, knocking the guns from Logan's hands before he could shoot at the same time, but the wolf was too strong and even with Ghosts extra weight they still went over the side, Logan landed in a bush not too far off but Ghost and the wolf landed together in a heap.

Growling at each other with their claw's out, looking to inflict some pain on their opponent.

The wolf looked to have already got away with a head start if the blood dripping from its fang's were to say anything.

Ghost's pure white fur was stained with thick red blood on his shoulder, the wound wasn't deep but Ghost could feel it burning from the outside spreading inwards, he had to end the fight fast if he wanted to be in a chance of winning, before whatever this stinky wolf poisoned him with affects him and puts him at a disadvantage.

As if by the sound of a start gun they both jumped at each other with their claw's and fangs out ready to dig into flesh, but what the wolf didn't expect was for Ghost to suddenly summon his jade armour mid air, catching it by surprise and making whatever damage it could ever inflict upon Ghost alone redundant, there was no getting through that armour, as he was soon about to find out for himself.

They crashed into each other hard, the wolf's claw's bouncing off the jade armour harmlessly, unlike how Ghost's armour enhanced claw's cut through the wolf's body like he was swimming in water, although a lot more bloody and furry.

And so Ghost leaned over a man shaped wolf, cut in two, thinking something along the lines of... 'Is that it ... What a let down! ... Or, I've just gotten even stronger then a previously thought ... Huh, what's this?' Ghost pondered as he watched the body in front of him shrink down, the fur melted off the body hidden below and revealed a man with pale white skin and long brown hair and a bit of stubble, his eyes became still as he let out his last breath, an impress feat considering he had been in two parts for quite a while now, staying alive for a little bit longer that is.

"Oh! I know what this is! Grandma showed me a movie of it, this is a werewolf!" Ghost exclaimed excited that he had gotten something right, but then something slowly dawned on him, "Wait does that mean I'll become a werewolf now?!" He screamed worrying about how the bite on his shoulder would affect him.

"Haah~ no use worrying about it now really, maybe Dad will be able to fix me up when I get back." Ghost said aloud letting those around him around be surprised at the fact that he could talk and at what they heard him say.

"Creature, what are you? And why would you save me?" A man that looked exactly like Logan but without the sideburns asked as he emerged from the woods, walking into the small clearing that Ghost and the werewolf had fought in.

"Why? Well because your my great grandfather of course!" Ghost cheered happily, bouncing over to him and rubbing his cheek against his entire body, ignoring the man's complaints completely.

"Van Helsing why is there a white tiger here? I thought they only lived in warm and tropical country's." A short man wearing thick brown clothes asked them after he entered the clearing followed by a very tall man wearing patch work clothes, the man also had purplish blue skin, it looked like he was being held together by big metal staples and screws.

"He says he's my great-grandson, which makes absolutely no sense." The man now revealed to be Van Helsing said.

"Said? ... Wait he can talk?!" The man shouted, surprised.

Van Helsing was about to say something more when screaming came from a little ways away, they all turned towards it to see a woman getting taken away by a grey humanoid bat.

"Anna!" Van screamed as he could only watch her get taken away from him.

"I got it!" Ghost shouted before he ran and jumped after the flying bat woman, he first followed them from below before he ran ahead of them and jumped and ran up a tree.

He climbed the tree quickly using his claw's to hold onto it and only when they got closer did he leap backwards from the tree, high up into the air, unconsciously using more power from the amulet to get high enough.

He surprised the bat woman with how high he could jump, she had arrogantly thought that she was untouchable in the sky and so didn't even bother flying higher when she saw Ghost chasing after her, unlucky for her but not Ghost.

Said lucky white tiger was biting down on the bat woman's throat and then nothing... she just suddenly disappeared inside his mouth which was really odd, but so was a lot of other things right now so Ghost didn't let it effect him, he just blew away the dust that suddenly appeared in his face and reached out for the screaming woman who was next to him and once she was closer he grabbed onto the back of her clothes with his teeth, careful not to actually bite her.

And then it was even easier to land on the ground on all fours, he wasn't part of the feline family for nothing after all.

Van Helsing and the other two men then ran up to him and the dazed woman still hanging from his mouth, "Oops, sorry G-gpa I kind of forgot about her." Ghost said as he rubbed the back of his head, but not before he let the woman down and sat down on his behind.

Van Helsing ran up to the woman and first checked that she was okay, once he did that he turned back to Ghost, looking him over and he wondered just what he was but he could tell that Ghost wasn't evil so he didn't mind him much and would have let him go along after saying thank you but not now that he kept calling him his great-grandfather, maybe he knew something about his past so he just had to find out, "You say I'm your great-grandfather but that makes no sense, we are completely different species and I can't possibly be old enough to be a grandfather, can you explain." Van asked Ghost.

"Mmm, your not my great-grandfather? But you smell exactly like him." Ghost said taking another smell of Van to be sure, "Yeah, your G-gpa alright, thats how I knew to come here, I was testing out my new power to jump through to different dimensions, I jumped to here following your smell, the same smell of G-gpa I had smelled on my Dad so I can't be wrong." Ghost explained sure of himself.

The man wearing brown standing listening next to them then spoke up, "Van Helsing I think what he is describing is a whole other universe, where you are his relative and giant talking white tigers are normal, I think, I've only played around with this idea a little bit before." He explained to everyone there.

"So, he isn't my great-grandfather... just his doppelganger? Is that the word?" Ghost asked the man.

The man nodded his head to Ghost, "Well is there anything I can help you with while I'm still here." Ghost asked them, not sure of what to do now.

"Well now that you mention it... "

...

"Oh, Gabriel what are you doing back so soon, I thought yo-arrr!!!" The black haired man started before he was suddenly attacked from behind, making him scream in extreme pain.

It was Ghost! He had snuck up on the man Van had told him was Dracula, a vampire like in the movies grandma showed him, and then while he was distracted by Van he would be able to get a sneak attack on him.

Ghost was expecting a fight so he was already wearing his jade armour along with all his power focused in his body so if Dracula is really as strong as Van says he is, he is prepared for him.

Only to be disappointed once again! He died just like that! Turning into dust after one measly attack!

Ghost was disappointed and unsatisfied so he left in a huff, opening a portal back home. Leaving everyone else stunned at what they just saw happen.

"Hey I've got the werewolf cure!" The man in brown shouted after he ran into the room with a big syringe filled with red fluid, in his hand, only after looking around the room and at everyone's stunned faces did he ask, "Where's Ghost?"

...

"Grandma I'm back! Can I have some chocolate cake?!" Ghost shouted happily after he jumped through the portal he made into the kitchen, completely forgetting his past unhappiness like someone with bipolar personality disorder.

"You can talk now? And grandma? How old do you think I am young man!" Jennifer scolded Ghost making him w.h.i.n.e and lower his head like a little boy who's toy was just taken away from him, that exact look made her feel guilty so she said, "Fine, I'll make you something and while I do you can tell me about your day." Jennifer said in a happy tone which instantly brightened Ghosts mood back up.

"Well Dad took me... "

...

"And so I killed Dracula, quite easily actually, then I came back home." Ghost finished telling his day to Jennifer, chocolate cake crumb's smeared all around his mouth.

Jennifer herself was also eating some of the cake but slowly savouring the taste as she listened to Ghost tell his story, "Wait so you got bitten by a werewolf? Have you changed at all since then? Do you feel any different?" She questioned her grandson, worried.

"No, but that might just be because I'm not used to my new power yet and I can't tell the wolf and amulet power apart. Maybe I should try and change form?" Ghost asked her, to see what she thought he should do.

"Why not? Let's see what happens." Jennifer smiled at Ghost.

Her smile was infectious making Ghost smile as well, he jump up from where he was sitting and walked into the middle of the room so he has some space to change.

Ghost started by imaging himself turning and focusing on that he could feel his body start to change as well, he then focused on that feeling and let it spread and consume his entire body. The change first affected his features, making them more human like, a shorter snout and a human like mouth.

It then affected his skeletal structure, so that he could stand on his legs without problem, his c.h.e.s.t also became flatter and broad, his paws separated into fingers and toes, and he gained a thumb.

(Author Note: Imagine Mercenary from Grimoire of Zero, but with black stripes instead of grey, and no scar across the nose.)

Ghost finally opened his eyes after the change was completed, looked down at his new hands, moving them around and getting used to the feel of having an extra finger, he was about to walk forward when he suddenly fell forward.

"Urr, what the hell?" Ghost g.r.o.a.n.e.d as he laid on the floor in front of Jennifer who was laughing with her hand over her mouth.

"Seems you need to get used to your new body." Jennifer said leaning down closer to Ghosts face, giggling to herself making Ghost groan.
