Book Of Divine Creatures

I woke up early and made a few exercise with my body. Although I have no idea if my body in my past life is a buff or lanky one, I can't afford to be weak in this world. For the world is filled with monsters, relying on your Divine Creatures is just a big mistake. I made a few push ups and sit ups inside my room before going out and do some running around the square. After running, I return to the inn and take breakfast that was also part of my payment. I decided to eat vegetables this time than Beastkind meat. I can't keep on eating them everyday because that is not a good habit.

When everything is done, I took a bath before going to the restaurant. This time, I wear a long sleeve shirt and a cap. I also wore a bit loose in the end pants for easy movement and hid the knife in its sheathe.

The city is bustling even though it was early. The sun just started rising up above the sky but the whole city is already alive and making its daily work. I tread the road towards the place. Along the way, I saw many Divine Creatures walking alongside their masters either helping them with their jobs or just following them around while they are walking. Even the birds are also around chirping and when my eyes landed on them, I found out that they are also Divine Creatures.

After walking for a few minutes, once again, I was standing in front of the restaurant. The woman who is the wife of Jon is currently sweeping in front of the store. She noticed me immediately and wave her hands.

"Wow, you are so early. You are an eager one. Most helpers don't last long when my husband ask them to hunt Beastkinds everyday and would no longer return the next day. My husband even doubt if you are coming today and I did not expect you to come here so early!" she said and happily nodded.

"Its alright, I don't really mind becoming a hunter of Beastkinds if I can get to earn money and eat food like that last night," I said to her.

"Oh, you flatter me. Anyway, I have not introduced myself to you right? My name is Rumina, you are Li Jin right? Nice to meet you again!" she smiled at me.

"Same," I said shortly.

Then, the sliding store of the restaurant opened and the girl last night named Penny came out wearing hunting clothes. When she saw me, she was surprised but her face recovers quickly and returned to her normal expression.

"Oh, its just you, I thought you already quit last night," Penny shrugged and returned inside.

Rumina sighed and smiled.

"I'm sorry for her attitude Li, she only have few friends and always have a kuudere(1) and tsundere(2) attitude so please, be nice to her," Rumina said.

"Okay," I said and entered the establishment.

I proceeded straight to the area where Jon led me in yesterday. There, I saw Penny and Jon sharpening their weapons. Jon was sharpening a big ax while Penny is sharpening a short sword. I wondered why she was here, then I remembered that today should be the weekend day in this world. I shrugged at her and just took a seat on a chair on the side and cross my arms.

Jon raised his ax before he put it down and look at me.

"You're here. Good, I thought you are one of those spineless cowards that works in first day but will quit the next day. A quite rare one, you know?" Jon said.

"Mmm," I nodded. I have no interest in having a conversation.

Penny snorted and raised her shortsword as she looks the blade if it is sharpened enough. And when she seemed to be satisfied with it, she waved it around. I can see that the sword were showing blade waves. She seemed to be an expert on using the sword. After waving it around, she looked at me smugly. I just sighed and rolled my eyes, whatever.

Jon readies everything and carries his heavy ax and ready all the resizable cages and keep it on his supply backpack. He taps my shoulders and grinned.

'I will be counting on you. We will be catching a few Beastkinds alive so we can have a fresh meat,"Jon said and shows me the resizable cages that looks like a small cube in his palms. If thrown, this little cubes will become a huge cage that can reduce its size alongside with its content.

"Father what about me? I need my training too and I don't agree that I am not better than this guy!" Penny glared at me.

"Of course, of course. But you can't just rush without preparations. Every Beastkinds are dangerous. You can't just rush without thinking about your safety," Jon patted Penny's head.

"Hmph!"

We didn't go to the forest but instead moved towards a new direction. From what I can remember, the place we are going is a lakeside. Most Beastkinds living in the water are around here and hunting them are good here.

"Have you ever hunted an aquatic monster before?" Jon asked.

"I haven't but I can improvise," I said to him. Although I have no memories from my past life, I was sure that I am able to catch aquatic animals without problem.

"Improvise? Ha! Don't you take lightly the whole hunt like a mere game," Penny said with a smug on her face.

I look at her but did not show any kind of emotions. People like her is overconfident.

We did not walk too long and in a few minutes of walking, we soon arrived the lakeside. The lakeside was quite refreshing to look and full of natural environment. In short, it looks refreshing if not for the fact that it was infested by Beastkinds.

"This place is very wonderful if not for the Beastkinds living here," Jon shook his head.

"Well, what are we waiting for, we should start hunting!" Penny said and unsheathed her sword.

"There you go again Penny, don't rush. We will get there," Jon said and pulls out a small brown pouch.

I look at the pouch and wondered what is inside. Jon slowly pull the string that locks the pouch and soon, I know what it was inside. A fragrance powder. From the smell it emits after the lock was undone, it was clear that it was a fragrance powder used to lure Beastkinds. Since we came here, the purpose for this is to lure many Beastkinds to kill.

"Isn't that dangerous? What if we lure a horde of Beastkind?" I asked.

"This fragrance can lure a horde but it is unlikely to lure one here. But if there is a horde, of course, its our job to take advantage and reap the rewards," Jon grinned and raise his thumbs.

Then, just in cue, I hear a rumbling in the distance. I pull out my knife and summoned Sleepy. Its time to rumble.
