Born As A Senju In Naruto

Hikari quickly settled into a routine as classes continued. She became friendly with the troublemakers of the class such as Shikamaru, Choji and Kiba. She was also beginning to dislike the two most popular kids in the class Sasuke and Sai. It wasn't really their fault though, as while they were good they acted haughty ignoring everyone else. Part of the reason for her disdain stemmed from her extra curricular class. This was easily the most hated part of the day for her when she had to attend these kunoichi classes. First it was mandatory and while she admitted "begrudgingly" that it made sense and would have been fine usually she felt like hitting things by the time it was over. The other girls did nothing but talk about the boys at every opportunity during this time frame and she felt like her mind was going to snap. Her only solace was that Hinata didn't join in since everyone else trash talked Naruto, who Hinata had apparently developed some affection for. She did however manage to get Hinata to talk with her about their respective training at home and Hinata actually revealed some of the ways the Hyuga train their own chakra control for their hands.

At home she continued to practice the tree climbing exercise with Naruto, but lamented the fact she was forced to continue practice throwing things even at home. She continued to study medical text which she found unarguably more interesting than most of the stuff she learned at school. This was something she adamantly refused to admit to her mother since she had talked bad about it previously. At night when she was supposed to sleep she spent a little extra time practicing the needle training Hinata explained to her. She struggled a lot with this one since most times she found herself shooting the needle off her finger and quickly learned to set up a board for the needle to launch into.

Halfway through her first year she actually started skipping out on classes with a couple of the guys to go play. She wanted to get Hinata to join them but after thinking it over realized that it would inevitably get Hinata in a lot of trouble as her father was stricter than her own parents. Her mother never said anything as long as she kept up her training at home but Shizune was a different beast for her to deal with. She'd get lectured constantly and forced to practice harder whenever it was Shizune's turn to oversee the training. She never actually skipped the kunoichi class though. Not because she did not want to so much as she knew it was the only class she couldn't get away with skipping. For one thing it was not something she would learn at home, and also because as her mother pointed out she acted way too much like a tomboy which would effectively get her in trouble in the future if she did not learn how to at least act like a lady when the situation called for it. By the end of the first year she had already completed the tree climbing exercise along with Naruto. This lead to Jiraiya teaching Naruto the basic shadow clone technique which surprised Hikari, because Naruto could do it so easily despite failing the basic clone technique at the academy.

Her mother refused to let Hikari learn it though and forbid Naruto from telling her. Her reason was while her chakra reserves were also massive, they were not nearly as monstrous as Naruto's. Instead she began learning Tsunade's brutal taijutsu style that focused on using physical strength to effectively pummel things into oblivion. Between constant sparring everyday and the studying she had to do time past by fairly quickly.

By the end of the second year she was closest with Kiba as they often got into arguments and fights over the dumbest things. This led to Shikamaru calling both of them troublesome and a drag to be around yet he never actually stopped ditching classes with them. Choji of course went everywhere Shikamaru did but was also pretty good friends with Hikari as she was the only other person who could match his passion for food even if she couldn't eat nearly as much as he could. Though it didn't hurt that she was one of the only people who'd never made fun of him for his body size. She also roped Kiba into sparring with her quite often, but by the time their third year of school ended he absolutely refused after she completely decimated a boulder with a punch he'd barely dodged. At one point she stole Kiba's ninken Akamaru and ran off with him. Akamaru resisted at first, but after being spoiled a bit by the Senju princess he stopped resisting altogether. He would even jump to Hikari of his own accord at times much to Kiba's chagrin.

It was also around this time that students were allowed to start studying medical ninjutsu in the academy. As this required more precise chakra control they had to be able to achieve a minimum level with it to be able to apply and only if you were interested in doing so. This lead to Sakura, Ino, Hinata and a few others from the class to start learning medical jutsu. When questioned about why she herself didn't apply to the class considering who her mother was she responded with an almost prideful remark of, "Like I could learn anything from a beginner medical jutsu class." Which wasn't wrong since her actual knowledge by this point vastly outstripped even some veteran medic ninjas even if her application of it wasn't at their level. Her mother had just started teaching her how to use both the mystic palm technique and chakra scalpel at home.
