Child Of God

Chapter 77 - Guide To Adoption [1]

Maleficent had left Yhwach to Merlin because she was responsible for completing a very special assignment. And her mission involved a little side project that both she and Merlin was interested in, the creation of the strongest Prime. So she was here to pick up the person that she and Merlin had chosen to groom into the strongest of the Primes.

The island was beautiful and the inhabitants called it Paradise, and by looks alone, it would really be described as Paradise by everyone on this planet. And it had one thing that no other island had, and that was a powerful barrier around it that hid it and protected it from the outside world.

Suddenly beside her, a small white light appeared and illuminated the night sky, and that light transformed into a short elderly man with a white moustache. "Beautiful night for a walk, Ma'am," He said with a smile radiating power and kindness.

"Indeed. Maybe you should find yourself a lady and take a walk across the cosmos." Maleficent smiled at him.

"I was created into solitude and that is how it must stay forever." He said with conviction. He was created with a purpose and a life already predetermined, and he couldn't even begin to imagine himself straying away from it.

"Technically I was the one that created you, so I could release the chains binding you to this universe." Maleficent saw the look of horror spread across the old man's face.

"You mustn't, Ma'am! Outside this universe I hold no power, and let's not even talk about the fact that all life would seize to exist should you release me." Clearly, this short little man didn't socialise enough because for a moment he truly believed she was serious.

"Calm down, I wouldn't do that. I don't have the power to recreate a being like you. But on another note, I was thinking of sending my subordinates to your brother's universe. They haven't been properly challenged yet and some of them are starting to think that they are invincible."

"My brother? Why would you want to meet him? He is stubborn, hot-headed and let's not even talk about his ego. Do you know what they call him over there?" His mood seemed to have greatly deteriorated after the mention of his brother.

"Yeah, The One Above All!" Maleficent said and watched as the old man's mood hit rock bottom.

"How arrogant is that?! I'll tell you! Too arrogant! I want to go over there and slap him across the face every time I hear it." He scoffed about his brother's indecent name.

"And what about your name? Do you think that's better?" She glanced at him.

"Well, of course! My name is dignified and proud. All would bow in reverence when they hear it, and not cower in fear like they do over there when my brother's name is mentioned." He said and an aura of pride came over him and his smile could probably calm any stormy heart or heal any twisted mind, so serine and heartfelt was his current smile.

"Haha, sure, whatever," Maleficent smiled and shook her head.

"Anyway, I am here to adopt those two girls." She said as her eyes pierced the barrier and landed on two women currently and strangle enough were giving birth at the exactly the same time. And because he was who he was, he obviously knew what she was talking about. And who she was referring to.

"Your Majesty, I hope I do not come across as rude here. But those girls already have parents." He said trying to subtly bring out an explanation from Maleficent as to why she wanted those two newborns.

"Are you meaning to tell me that I do not fit as a parent?" She glanced back at him and for just a split second all light in the universe seemed to have disappeared as his heart skipped a beat when faced with that gaze.

"No! Not at all! I was just curious as to why you wanted them." He said and smiled awkwardly.

"Haha, I'm just messing with ya, I don't know anything about parenting someone. I am gonna groom them into the most terrifying killers in the universe." She said with an exciting yet terrifying smile on her face.

"I understand. Taking them will change some things, but nothing I can't fix with just a swish of my finger. Please do take care of them, they are both good girls." He said.

"As I said already. I know nothing of being a parent, but I will feed them, clothe them and train with such intensity that when they're ten years old they can beat your two favourite sons." She said proudly while he shivered.

"The first two are definitely good traits of parent. But that last one, I don't know if a good parent would do. And please refrain from manifesting in front of my sons, or any of my people. Imagine what they would say if they knew I am nothing more than a guardian and also have a boss. My reputation would go down the drain." He said, slightly concerned for the girls and the future for his universe because of Maleficent's impulsive personality.

"I would never." She smiled evilly. "And I am not looking to become a mother or any form of a parent. I just want strong subordinates." She said happily.

"Becoming parents is rarely a planned event. I remember when Michael first called me, Father. I was so surprised that I almost destroyed half the universe. Though the shock came mostly because I hadn't seen that event happen before it did. Guess that comes from him being my son, the brat was so incredibly powerful from the very moment he came to life."

"Very touching. I am going down there now, you coming?" She looked at him.

He tilted his head, "Sure, why not," And he followed her down toward the island.
