Child Of God

A couple of hours had gone by since the duo arrived in this world and they were now walking inside a pretty decently sized town. According to Rory, they were looking for a specific building inside this town. Rory already knew where it was so Kurama just followed her without saying anything.

The two of them got some major shocking looks from the people of this town. One of them was about 150 cm and the other one was over 400 cm meters tall. This attracted gazes from every single person that they passed by.

"There it is. Just up ahead. It looks like we arrived just in time for the fun to start." Rory started dashing at normal human speeds and Kurama was just jogging behind her. They both saw in the distance, four people arguing with each other while standing in the middle of a construction site.

Rory arrived first and she stood just outside what looked to be the future front doors of the building. She watched as the people argued with how the building should look and what should be placed where. There were obvious hired workers around the site that looked uncomfortable because of the arguing.

"Hello! Anyone home?" Rory waved her hand slowly towards the people inside the semi constructed building.

"OHO! New members." The small long-haired blond girl saw them and ran up to them. Only to stop and gaze and the giant beside Rory.

"ooooh," She started her gaze on his feet and moved it upwards slowly. The more her eyes moved around his body, the more shocked she became.

"How did you become so tall, Mr... Ginger?" The little blonde girl didn't know what to call this giant of a man.

"ginger? What the hell? I have a name, you ignorant little girl." Kurama said with a frown.

"Oh, sorry. I was caught up in the moment. What is your name? My name is Mavis!" Mavis reached up to shake Kurama's hand but she barely made it passed his knees. Even when she used her toes to elevate her height.

"You haven't earned the right to know my name. And I definitely won't tell you that now." Kurama took his gaze of Mavis and even ignored the girl hanging her head in depression after being ignored.

"Ah, come on, ignore him. He has all this pride and stuff. I don't know what it all comes from, but he'll open up if you are persistent with it. Meaning, continue to annoy him and he'll open up about himself."

Rory took Mavis hand and shook it vigorously while trying to console the poor girl.

"ooohhh, I SEE! I know one of those as well. Well, I definitely won't give up then." Mavis also started shaking her hand.

Soon the two girls were shaking their hands so vigorously that they were almost lifting each other off the ground with every shake of the hands.

"My lady, please.." Kurama hit Rory with a sudden pleading look and tried to spare himself from the constant annoyance of two little girls jumping on him.

"Deal with it, kid... Now you know to treat people better." Rory ignored the fox man and looked at the other members.

"And you all are?" She looked at them all and from just one look she knew everything she needed to ever know. But she decided to be nice and still ask."

"My name is Warrod, and this is Yuri and then we have perch over there. Nice to meet you.." Warrod said and waited for her to introduce herself to the group.

"Rory Mercury. Nice to meet you all." Rory shook Warrod's hand and smiled cheerfully at them.

"So may I ask what you are here for?" Perch asked curiously while observing Kurama. He couldn't even fit through the door frame because of his enormous size.

"Nothing much, just checking it out and stuff.," Rory said and looked around inside the half-finished building.

"Checking what out?" Yuri asked with curiosity.

"Just this place in general," Rory said with a smirk, masterfully dodging the question.

"Well, that's awfully vague. Where are you from?" Perch was most definitely annoyed by this girl. But he didn't say anything stupid because of the giant that seemed to be her follower.

"The beginning I suppose you would call it," Rory said and laughed with an obvious intent to tease.

"That sounds like quite the mysterious place? I would love to see it someday." Mavis said with a smile and she tried to ease the tension that was growing between perch and Rory. Of course, Rory didn't care about this little man.

"You might, if I like you enough then maybe you will see it someday," Rory said and smiled genuinely towards Mavis that always showed that happy and innocent smile.

"Then let's be best friends. Join our guild also." Mavis yelled and spread her arms as wide as she could. you could see perch and Yuri sigh in the background.

"Sure, what do I need to do?" Rory asked curiously.

"Hold out your hands like this," Mavis said and showed Rory what to do. Mavis showed Rory her hands with her tiny palms facing the god of goth herself.

"Okay? now what?" Rory was mighty confused about the current situation.

"Now we do this." Mavis put some strength into her arms and slammed them on Rory's for an awesome double high five.

"oh, impressive, most people would fall down from that. I am pretty strong, you know!" Mavis flexed her biceps and said to Rory.

"aha, ye I am pretty strong too." Rory declared in amus.e.m.e.nt and flexed just like Mavis. Both girls had zero muscles popping out from the flexing, but they both looked equally adorable.

"Now you are part of the guild. Welcome to Fairy tail!" Mavis did a pirouette on her toes and gave the duo her biggest smile possible.

"Thanks, I guess," Rory said and looked at Kurama for his thanks.

"Have any food?" He said and started seriously into Mavis's eyes.

"y..yes, in the back!" Mavis pointed at the counter in the background.

"Later!" Kurama said and started walking.
