Child Of God

Chapter 94 - Arc Of A Young Love [5]

Dimaria was sent flying by Sabo's powerful kick. Ajeel and Brandish returned to normal just in time to watch her crash into the side of a house. Brandish wasn't able to catch on to what just happened, Ajeel, on the other hand, caught on immediately. For some reason, Dimaria had been beaten and even though he did not know why this happened, he wouldn't let that stop him from completing his mission.

Ajeel turned the ground into sand as he dashed towards Sabo. Massive amounts of sand gathered behind him, and he jumped up in the air and brought all the sand down at once, [Sand Tsunami] he yelled as the massive amounts of sand was brought down on Sabo and Wendy. [Wave Emission] Sabo put up both his hands and a blast wave was released from his hands that easily disrupted the magic inside the sand, causing it to scatter. [Sky Dragon Slayer Magic: Sky Dragon's Roar] Wendy followed up Sabo's attack with her own. [Sand Barrier] Ajeel easily stopped her attack with his sand shield. He landed on the ground and looked over at Brandish. She had shrunk the unconscious Dimarai down to a tiny version of herself.

"Let's go, Ajeel. I don't feel good about staying here, and things will definitely get troublesome if we delay any longer and you know I hate troublesome things."

Ajeel nodded and turned to Sabo, "Someday soon I will kill both you and your little girlfriend. Believe that!"

'As if I'd let you do that,' Sabo stood still and watched as Ajeel turned around and ran away with a savage grin on his face.

"Are you okay, Sabo? What happened with that woman? I didn't see either of you move but suddenly she was hit by your kick."

"She was using time magic. And fortunately, my senses are s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e to the activation of time magic, so a millisecond before her magic took effect I managed to cast a disruptive barrier around my body and that allowed me movement in her time world." Sabo said with a victories smile on his face.

"Wow... How strong are you really, Sabo? I sensed the magic power of those three and I have never felt anything like it before, except for your group of course." Wendy wanted to know how strong Sabo was. He had never shown his real strength, not even to her.

"I can fight and survive against two of them, but if all three were to join in then I would definitely lose and most likely even die by their hands," Sabo said casually with a smile on his face.

Wendy had a worried expression on her face, but it quickly turned into an expression of determination, "Then I will train harder than ever before so that you will never have to face them alone next time." Wendy rushed in and gave him a tight hug.

The sound of steps sounded out behind them and an awkward cough came quickly after, "Well, as Sabo's official wingman, I will take half the credit of this pairing," Netero said playfully from behind the young couple. He had appeared with Yamamoto and most of the guild stood behind him.

"AAH!" Wendy went bright red in the face after seeing her guildmates staring intently at her, and after her panic scream, she fainted in Sabo's arms.

"Seems she overloaded a little," Yamamoto said stoically.

"Understandable," Netero smiled sweetly, after which he turned to the people behind him, "Let's go back, we still have preparations to do,"

"Yeah!" They yelled in unison.

"Erza, aren't we done here soon? I have to go check on Wendy and I have answered the same question three times already." Sabo was sitting opposite Erza on one of the tables in the guildhall. For an entire hour, she had been bombarding Sabo with questions about everything regarding his and Wendy's relationship. "We are done when I say that we are done!" Erza said sternly.

"Now, where do you see yourself in five years time?" She stared intently at Sabo.

"I don't know, probably adventuring around with Wendy or something," Sabo said lazily and slammed his head down on the table in frustration.

"Focus, this is important!" Erza said and wrote something down in her notes.

"No, this is useless! What will these questions prove?"

Erza leaned in closer to Sabo and put up her elbows on the table. She stared intently into his eyes without blinking, "Okay, you can go!" She said after a few too many awkward seconds of silence. Sabo stood up immediately and ran over to the backroom where Wendy was resting up. He masterfully slammed open the door without causing any loud noises. He rushed to the chair beside her bed and sat down. "I'm sorry for being late, stupid Erza had more pointless questions to ask me," he said and sighed.

"It's okay, Sabo," Wendy slowly opened her eyes and grabbed hold of his hand with her own. She squeezed hard around his hand, possibly as a test to check whether he was real or not.

"You're awake, how are you feeling?" Sabo said, unable to calm down. In the last three hours, his love and care for Wendy had sky-rocketed so he was unable to calm down when she was in here.

"I'm alright, I was just tired, that's all. How long have been asleep?" Wendy sat up in the bed and her tired expression coupled with her messy hair gave her a very cute look, which caused Sabo to smile.

"A couple of hours only. Do you need more rest still?"

Wendy smiled at how Sabo treated her like a porcelain object that could break at any time. This was the first time she had seen this incredible careful and precious side of him. "No, I feel fine now."

"Okay, take all the time you need, I will be out there talking to Netero about the trip to our home." Wendy nodded and Sabo walked out of the room.

Wendy stared at his back as he opened the door and disappeared into the hall again. "Sabo's home, I will finally see it. Maybe we can even get some alone time there as well." Wendy's body started heating up and her face grew red. "I can't wait!" She whispered to herself and fell back on her bed.
