Chapter 5 - Memory Fragment

The morning after the incident paranormal investigators from the Moniyan empire came to the scene. The victims of the incident were also investigated. Most of them suffered post traumatic distress disorder, memory problems and unstable behavior. Some had also shown signs of their memory being shattered.

"What could have done this?" Tigreal asked.

"Is this a work of a demon?" Alucard asked Tigreal.

"Not quite, an investigator said a powerful force beyond our understanding could have." Tigreal replied.

"Demons or not, all of them are the same! That scene last night is of no exception." Alucard angrily replied.

"Hold down your horses boys. This matters require the knowledge of an expert." A familiar voice said the two gentlemen looks back and saw Eudora.

"If it is the empress of lightning. What could have brought you to these parts of the land?" Alucard asked her.

"It's none of your business demon butcher. This incident have caused me quite concern and intrigue. This could may be a work of an ancient being, not just a demon." She explained to the two.

Meanwhile back to the Amethyst Palace where Simon was being recovered. The college of the clergy and the cardinals have gathered to discuss the matter of the isolated incident. The stunt that Simon had caused have caught the attention of the Minoyan Empire which they wish to evade for the time being. They were discussing of their future actions. Emmina, the Prioress of the emerald the watcher of Simon was summoned but was late on her appearance. The college was not pleased of her recent performance in her duties. As the chattering of the halls began to intensify the doorman announces the arrival of the Prioress Emmina and looks at her with disdain.

"The brotherhood of the order of Clement should have not allowed any woman or any Prioress to begin with. Her incompetence have caused us a great jeopardy!" One of the Clerics had shouted.

Some of the Clerics have agreed others disagreed and some remained silent. Emmina looks at a Cardinal in purple cape which nodded on her. She looks down and holds her hidden anger towards the Ivuku cultists which she describes. Her anger towards their kind is getting stronger as she sees them getting closer to their goals.

"What is your say to these charges Prioress!" The speech of the Head Cardinal of the College pierced her mind.

Emmina maintain her composure holding off her anger and replied, pleaded for her innocence towards the allegations of her accusers.

"There's no point in believing the words of a two-faced liar. It doesn't mean she belongs to the order that she is allowed to squander all our trust and patience. Her errors are causing us harm!" One of the Cardinals said.

"Enough!" The Cardinal in a purple cape said. "These allegations of yours needs to be proven otherwise. With her being in the order does not give her the license of immunity. We look down on women before with disdain thinking they were the creatures of evil. But are we going to revert back to our old ways before the reformation. Is the means of barbarism suit your tastes?" The Cardinal continued.

The College was silenced after his words. "This meeting is adjourned, these matters are to be discussed later for the College will have a word with his Lord Valeric."

The Cardinals left the halls but one of them in purple cape remains. He approached the Prioress who looked at him comfortably and began to converse with him.

"They disgust me, old men in robes. Hypocrites who dress in sheep's clothing but are wolves." The Prioress Emmina said.

"There's no need to stay further in this mission Emmina. You have done enough for the order. I can take these matters on my hands. I can arrange an exit for you..." Emmina interrupted him before he could finish.

"No, I shall watch these rotting corpse of a cult being burned down to the ground. Their days are numbered and even in death I shall see them die in pain and anguish. I shall not rest until I see their unholy blood overflow in these halls!"

After the small chat with her superior Emmina returned to where Simon was healed of his wounds. He is still unconscious, exhausted of his fight against the highway-men that tried to rob him. Luckily the fragment tried to protect him but drained him of his spirit.

"He will still be unconscious for days Prioress." One of the nurses attending to him said.

"You may leave now." Emmina said to the nurse.

The nurse bows and excuses herself to the Prioress who was looking at Simon. "What could he be dreaming?"

...

"My friend, I shall leave you a task that will change your life forever. Consider this a payment for your debts." His old friend Taffy said in his dreams.

"Debt? You killed me and my family! How am I supposed to thank you for all of this!?" Simon angrily replied.

"Soon my friend you will understand. I wish to explain things to you but if I do that it will endanger your life..." Simon interrupted before Taffy could finish.

"Thanks to you my life is in constant danger! I do not know what you are scheming but you delivering me to neverland will never make me forgive you!" He continued.

"Consider this a favor my friend..." Taffy's image suddenly faded and darkness surrounded him.

"The fragments, do not allow them to be united. If you do a catastrophe will happen. The universe as you know will be in peril... Please remember this warning. Trust neither the fundamentalists nor the order. Both are just the sides of a coin."
