With a blinded eye, a bleeding nose and a deaf ear, Mike still was acting like he was fine. All the while sitting on the bench beside Mike, Kadyn remained quiet.

Mike - Look at you, hurt and bloody. Why did you decide to save me?

Suddenly, Kadyn cracked in tears while launching herself in Mike's arms.

Kadyn - (crying and sobbing)

Mike (while patting her head) - There, there, stop crying, it's over.

Kadyn (sobbing) - I miss you, Mike, I... (keep on crying)

Mike - It's alright, it's my fault, I never should have consumed myself my revenge against Sniper.

Kadyn (sobbing) - No, I don't care whose fault this is. As long as you are here, there is nothing I care more about.

Mike - Take your time, calm down.

Kadyn (wiping her tear away) - It's you who healed my wound, right?

Mike - Yes, I used pieces of my mechanical arm to repair your wound.

Kadyn - How did you know I was inside the tunnel?

Mike - I knew everything all along. While the mad man and McArthur were in control of my body, I was a spectator inside my mind which means I can only see and hear but not control my body. That's how I knew you had a tunnel under a bed.

Kadyn - The mad man is still inside your mind right?

Mike - I can control him now, so nothing to worry about.

Kadyn - Then we can live a happy life now?

Mike - You can live a happy life, not me.

Kadyn - What do you mean?

Mike - I cannot live with you, we must part ways now.

Kadyn - Why not, Mike, do you hate me?

Mike - I do not hate you, I want to protect you.

Kadyn - Then come with me!

Mike - Kadyn, I killed Sniper, the whole world now wants me dead. Do you think it's safe for you to be with me?

Kadyn - We can leave this behind and live a happy life, just you and me. We can hide and leave everything behind.

Mike - Kadyn, the main reason I wanted you to leave me it's because everything isn't so simple. The world is too full of danger and I will not be able to protect you now that everyone is against me.

Kadyn - I won't leave you and I won't run anymore. If you want to die then I will die with you. I've already tried to abandon you that night, I will never do it again.

Mike (in denial) - Kadyn, go, find a new life, live a life with a man who can protect you.

Kadyn - I'll rather die with the man I care about than living with a man I never loved.

Mike - This is final, Kadyn, leave! I have failed you and you deserve better.

Ripping her wrist knife out of her forearm, she pointed the weapon against her head.

Kadyn - If you wanna die here then I will perish with you.

Mike (surprised) - Don't be foolish, Kadyn, stop that!

Kadyn - Mike, how do you feel about me? Be honest like how I've always been with you.

Mike (seeing no other option) - I... I like you, alright? I love you!

Kadyn (dropping her knife to the ground) - You are not lying aren't you?

Mike - Yes, I'm not kidding.

Kadyn (approaching Mike's face) - Then promise me, Mike, to try and fight! LIVE FOR ME AND I WILL LIVE FOR YOU!

Mike - You have seriously changed, the Kadyn I knew would never tempt something so crazy.

Kadyn (smiling) - Silly, I will never leave without you and this fact never changed.

Mike - Very well, you managed to convince me but I don't even have my crystals anymore.

Kadyn - I know where to get them back, you just have to follow my guide.

Mike - Hey, I'm sorry about everything you endured.

Kadyn - It wasn't even you who were in control of your body, no hard feeling.

Mike - Then do you have a plan?

Kadyn (with a wink) - Go about your chores, meet me tonight in the tunnel.

Mike (with a smile) - I bet your next plan will be bloody crazy too.

Kadyn - The fact that we lived to see each other again was already against the odds, so a crazy escape plan would be easy, right?

Mike - Then let's get to work.

*Later that night

Kadyn waited silently inside the tunnel for Mike's arrival while eating a small piece of rat meat.

Mike (after he jumped inside the tunnel) - This place is pretty cramped.

Kadyn (looking at Mike) - I dug this in the spent of 10 months, be grateful for it.

Mike - Bloody hell, are you eating a rat?

Kadyn - Yeah, the food in the kitchen house is disgusting.

Mike - I got to get you outta here, this place is a living hell.

Kadyn (trowing a small object at Mike) - Here, the remote for the explosive's detonation.

Mike - Why explosive?

Kadyn - For distraction.

Mike (pressing on the remote) - Right!

A giant explosion suddenly busted of the kitchen house, as the flame flew high up the sky, the alarm ringed, alerting all personnel and prisoners.

Kadyn - Mike, are you crazy? Why now?

Mike (starting to climb) - Are you gonna hold still and wait?

Kadyn - I can say now that we are both nuts in the head.

Exiting out of the wind conduct, the two quietly started to make their way toward the boss's office.

Through the long corridors, most of the guards were dispatched to check on the prisoners and the explosion. Walking carefully across the guards quarter, Kadyn exited her small notebook to check on the direction of the office. All of sudden, two guards coming out a corner ambushed the pair with their pistol.

Guard (pointing his gun at Mike) - Freeze prisoner, get on the ground!

Looking with disappointment at the guard, Mike cracked his fists and neck.

Mike - Move to the side or you will be sorry.

Guard - Last warning, get on the ground.

With a single punch, Mike destroyed the guard's face before he could shoot. The second guard, in a panic, fired 3 shots at Mike which he dodged with ease. Throwing himself on the man, Mike proceeded to break both of his arms before snapping his neck. Grabbing the second guard's gun, Mike fired the 3 remaining shots at the first guard's head.

Kadyn - Mike, that's enough, stop it.

Mike - I know you don't like to see me kill people. But in our case, if you want to live with me, you will have to get used to it.

Kadyn - But just knocking them down will be enough, you don't need to kill them.

Mike - Killing is the surest way to ensure that witnesses and enemies don't come back to cause you trouble or to finish you off later. Who knows if those two will get up and alert other guards if I didn't kill them.

Kadyn - Fine, Mike, kill people only when it's necessary.

Mike (pointing at a door) - It's that the office you are talking about?

Kadyn - Yes, it is.

Mike advanced toward the door and proceeded to press a button on the control panel.

Intercom - What is it? I told you not to disturb me, Jason.

Mike (pretending to be Jason) - I need to see you, sir, it's urgent.

Intercom - Fine, wait for a second.

Kadyn (holding Mike by the shoulders) - You are crazy, what are you trying to do?

Mike - Wait for it, Kadyn, I will handle this.

The door opened and the old man stood in front of the two while holding a bottle of wine.

Boss (surprised) - What? Who are you guys? Where is Jason?

Grabbing him by the tie, Mike lifted the old man in the air and advanced inside the office with Kadyn. Closing the door behind them, Mike slammed the old man on the wall.

Mike - We are here to talk about business.

Boss (stressed) - Hey, hey, what do you guys need? I got money, land, anything you want.

Mike - The crystals, you have them?

Boss - You want the crystals? They are in that safe there.

Pointing to a man-sized iron strongbox, the old man was taken and put against the door of the box.

Mike - Now, open it.

Boss (putting his hand on the control panel) - Alright, alright, put me down.

Posing the geezer back onto the floor, the man quickly opened the heavily secured door for Mike.

Boss - They are inside, as you can see.

Mike (while entering the strongbox) - Don't play any trick on me while I'm inside or you will regret it.

Boss - Yes, yes, I won't.

When Mike fully entered the safe, the old man shut the door closed, trapping Mike inside.

Boss - You fool, the crystals are inside but now let's see how you get out.

Seen the situation, Kadyn quickly jumped toward the geezer.

Boss - Don't even try it. See those turrets on the ceiling?

Looking up the roof, two fully armed turrets pointed their cannons at Kadyn. Advancing toward Kadyn, the old man put one of his hands her face and the other on her fox ear.

Boss - What a beautiful specimen of demi-human you are. I heard about your kind a few years ago and I wasn't able to get one for myself. I guess you are mine since he's trapped in there.

Mike - It seemed like I wasn't clear enough in my warning.

Boss (turning his head) - What?

Walking through iron like it was liquid, Mike exited from the safe with crystals glowing on his forearms.

Boss (in shock) - What the hell?

Mike - I hope you are prepared to receive your punishment. (looking right at the boss) Like I'm gonna blow the inside of ya body all over four countries.

Boss (in a state of panic) - Turrets, shoot...

Before the old man could finish his phrase, the sensation of a flaming meteor hitting his abdomen was all he could feel before being sent flying toward the entrance. The impact of his body alone was able to burst the office's door out of his frame before crashing to create a giant hole inside the hallways.

Taking two cups out of a cabin, Mike poured the boss's wine inside each of them.

Mike (handing a glass to Kadyn) - Want one?

Kadyn (taking the cup) - Cheer, my love!

Mike - For what, our sudden turn from prisoners to two boss kicking gangsters?

Kadyn - No, for our future!

Mike (realizing the phrase's meaning) - Cheer, my little fox.

Kadyn looked at Mike with a smile as she drinks her cup's content. Mike, seen her smile, smirked back at her while emptying his glass.

*Back on the surface

After flying up to the surface ground from the valley, Mike laid Kadyn on the soil. Looking in front of him, he noticed the small village where everything started. The smoke coming from the houses' chimneys indicated human presence. A few mountains stood beside the village as well as some wild vegetation. While the light of the morning slowly came to illuminate the dark sky, the pair looked up the apex of a small hill where a shadow stood.

Mike and Kadyn (at the same time) - Ferdinand!
