Crystalline Universe: Team Fortress 2/ Overwatch

The small rain from earlier grew into a huge rainstorm with thunder rumbling afar. While the policemen waited patiently in their cars while two armed guards stood by the bar's door.

No one was inside the bar else than two men in black clothing who analyzed samples bloodstain on the floor. While the sound of the wind whistled a grim melody, the storm brought an atmosphere of brutality.

One of the men in a large coat walked toward his colleague while holding a computer in his hands.

[Watson] - "The result showed that the blood belonged to Azur Ameri, a member of Talon's crystalline executioner program. She's currently part of [Team Zero]. "

[Sherlock] - "Very intriguing, Watson, a member of the executioner core betraying. "

[Watson] - "First case since the attempted assassination of lord Sniper by the three executioners. "

[Sherlock] - "Yes! As I said, very intriguing! "

[Watson] - "Civil War is the victim of her treason, a member of our association's [Aquatic team]. "

[Sherlock, by putting his hand on his friend's shoulder] - "Watson, Watson, my friend, their statistics aren't what we are looking for! We should be looking at the evidence, the information we can use to accuse them! We are the best of the best, we are to get our job done here and get away without anyone noticing our presence. After all, we are a prime target for our enemy. "

[Watson] - "Looking into our target's past could allow us to know more about their intention and mindset. Nothing is pointless, everything has a sense and a reason! "

Sherlock marched toward the bar's drink holders and grabbed a bottle brandy. With a snap of his finger, a light shockwave blasted two cups off the shelf, which the detective caught with ease.

[Shelock, while filling his cup] - "Don't mind me, ask if you feel like in need of a little refresher. "

[Watson] - "A very bad idea to drink during serious business. "

In a single shot, Sherlock swallowed the entire cup of alcohol with a satisfied face.

[Sherlock] - "I think being sleepy during work is the worst. I need to stay awake. "

[Watson] - "You just aren't helping me right now! "

Suddenly, Sherlock opened his computer in a hurry and while typing hastily on the keyboard, Watson walked up to him in confusion.

[Watson] - "You found something? "

[Sherlock] - "No, it's a message from the association. It says that [Revolution War] kicked the bucket. Shockingly speaking. "

[Watson] (puzzled) - "The entire aquatic team is dead. What's the meaning of this?

[Sherlock] - "It means that Azur and her entire team defected from Talon. "

Watson stared at his friend in shock and confusion.

[Watson] - "Where did all this speculation come from? "

[Sherlock, with a smile] - "My friend, isn't it obvious? The reason why they call us professionals is because we truly are the elite. "

The detective grabbed a chair and sat in relieve.

[Sherlock] - "The situation is obvious enough! From the debris, [Cold War]'s body was molecularly blasted away by an energy source which could be Karson's secondary ability: [Tesla Breakbot]. Coincidently, the whole base where the aquatic team was stationed on was destroyed by atomic charges. The only executioner from purchase record to buy these bombs is Mergiann, who's also a member of Karson's team. "

[Watson] - "And that's why you were so relaxed today? Because you speculated on their possible treason? "

[Sherlock] - "Elementary, my dear Watson. Also, please note that I know every executioner's mindset by heart, so, by now, judging from Azur and her team's psychology, they would attempt to eliminate us to prevent us from contacting [La Squadra di arresto]. "

[Watson] - "I hope that 158 IQ of yours don't deceive us! "

[Sherlock] (confidently) - "Did it? It never did! "

[Watson] - "What do we do then? "

[Sherlock] - "We wait! I never had the chance to try out my ability: [The Hound of the Baskervilles]. After so many years of training, I want to see how much it can do. "

[Watson] - "We are two against four, we could lose our lives! Remember, they want us dead. "

The detective's eyes turned around its socket and observed the room and outside the window.

[Sherlock] - "Vatican Cameos, Watson! "

[Watson] (surprised) - "Huh? "

All of sudden, two pieces of sapphire blasted out of the window and flew toward Sherlock. In a swift move, Watson launched a strike using his ability that repelled the crystals to a different trajectory.

[Watson] (in frustration) - "This is what I'm was talking about! If you are on your own, you wouldn't even be able to deflect this attack. "

[Sherlock] - "But I have you, right? "

Behind the two detectives, a rapier's apex appeared out of a wall and cut a man-sized rectangle through the concrete. Suddenly, the portion of the wall flew out of its frame as Karson entered the room.

After seeing the situation, Sherlock rapidly moved down the bas.e.m.e.nt while leaving Watson behind.

[Watson] (in frustration) - "Sherlock, you... "

Karson quickly tried to follow the man but was promptly ambushed by Watson, who sent him metres away using his ability.

Azur immediately jumped out of the window and crouched on the floor in readiness. As Watson was distracted by Azur's intrusion, Mergiann and Darlynn sneaked their way to the bas.e.m.e.nt to Sherlock.

Before Watson could launch an attack toward Azur, Karson suddenly appeared behind the detective and bashed him toward the shelves.

[Karson] - "Azur, go help them, I'll handle this guy! "

[Azur] - "Are you sure? "

[Karson] - "I don't know but it sounds like a freight train coming through. "

[Azur] - "Ok, good luck to you then. "

The girl hastily ran down the stairs to the cellar. Once down there, Azur collided with Mergiann out of carelessness.

[Mergiann] (annoyed) - "Oww... Why can't you watch out where you're going? "

[Azur] (in a weak voice) - "I'm sorry, alright? "

[Darlynn] - "Calm down, girls! I hear something! "

The bas.e.m.e.nt was large and empty with piles of alcoholic drinks all over the wall side. The lightbulbs emitted a weak light source while some of them flashed due to bad conductibility.

Out of the blue, Sherlock's shadow appeared behind a large beer container.

[Sherlock] - "Years of investigation work is... kinda boring. I have always been to one to investigate the aftermath of a crime but today, I will be living the actual scene. "

[Azur] - "Oh yeah? You will be living the scene but I will be the murderer. "

In an instant, 3 smoke grenades flew toward the Azur and her teammates and before they could do anything, a cloud of thick white smoke filled the room.

[Sherlock] - "Who said that the murderer will always be victorious one? "

Azur stood in the smog while waiting patiently for his enemy to attack. Although being blinded by the smoke, the girl faced forward to Sherlock's position.

Rapidly, Mergiann raised from the ground and stood back to back against Azur.

[Mergiann] - "Do you see him? "

[Azur] - "No, I can't! "

[Mergiann] (confused) - "How can't you? You have a cybernetic right eye that can detect body heat. "

[Azur] - "That's why I find it strange! My eye cannot detect heat inside this smoke. "

[Mergiann] (in a sudden realization) - "Frigusium dioxide bomb. You can't see, smell or use detectors on this smoke, it's designed to completely blind your enemies. "

Suddenly, a crashing sound alerted the pair, who immediately ran toward the location. Darlynn laid on the floor unconscience with bite marks on her neck. Seeing that blood gushed out of her wounds, Mergiann quickly crouched on the ground to help her friend.

[Azur] - "No, Mergiann, don't! "

[Mergiann] - "Huh? "

Behind her, a powerful force bashed her head against the wall and the young girl passed out.

[Azur] (worried) - "Mergiann! "

As she approached the young girl, Azur, after feeling a presence behind her back, sent out one of her gems to her backside. The sapphire flew into the void, never hitting it's intended target.

[Azur] (in shock) - "Argh! "

[Sherlock] (in a smooth voice) - "It wouldn't be wise for me to let you know where I truly am, right? Your attacks are useless and pathetic against my ability. "

[Azur] - "You bastard... "

All of a sudden, Azur received a hard bite from an unknown source. The girl immediately rolled on the ground toward another direction and proceeded to quickly check her left arm. The injuries resembled bites from a gigantic animal's teeth. While kneeling on the floor, Azur used her crystals in an attempt to move the smoke away from her sight but to no avail.

[Sherlock] - "The smoke is part of my ability too. "

[Azur, in her mind] - ("I must think of something, this guy... he's not like the others, he's pretty smart. Everything he did. Think Azur, think! ")

Light and quiet sounds of footsteps approached her but from which place? Azur observed her surroundings and prepared herself to defend against her enemy. In a swift reaction, Azur launched one of her sapphires toward her left only to be bitten on the right leg.

With her injury, the girl collapsed to her knees on the ground while the agonizing pain gradually ate her stamina away.

Abruptly, the sounds of falling beer bottles suddenly broke the silence. An idea glimpsed inside Azur's mind and without losing a second, she quickly prepared a plan.

The girl rapidly sent out all of her six gems into the air while breaking glasses and containers of beer alongside the wall.

Seeing the situation, Sherlock thought Azur was trying to move the smoke away using her ability.

[Sherlock] - "I already told you that the smoke won't go away, why won't you learn? "

[Azur] (confidently) - "Because I already know enough. "

*Back to the ground floor

Karson and Watson faced each other as if they were two beasts that are ready to massacre the other. Watson instantly launched a few powerful strikes from his fists that became huge shockwave once it made contact with Karson's armour.

The young man blocked the attack but was sent flying anyway from the share amount of power. Using his ability, Karson shielded himself from the impact and landed safely on the ground.

[Watson, in his mind] - ("Sherlock, you bastard, I never used my ability either. This boy is going to be the end of me... I must take a rest. ")

[Karson, breathing in readiness] - "What? Already tired, old buffer? "

Watson backed out of fear and ran down the bas.e.m.e.nt where Sherlock is fighting Azur.

[Karson] - "Hey, you coward, come back here. "

Without losing a moment, Karson jumped down the stairs in pursuit of the escaping detective.

Liquor and alcohol gradually flowed the ground while a dense and strong alcoholic smell filled the air. Sherlock looked through the smog Azur, who kept her kneeling position to the ground.

In a moment of hesitation, Sherlock analyzed the possibility of traps Azur could've set to catch him before concluding that an offensive from his part would be the best course of action.

Now with all of his confidence, Sherlock set in for an ambush to the girl's left side.

The man carefully and quietly approached Azur and activated his ability that formed invisible claws around his hands.

[Sherlock] - "I have seen enough, Azur, these will be my final attacks, prepare! "

[Azur] - *Nervously breathing*

In an instant, Sherlock used his ability to bite Azur's right arm and rapidly retreated into the smog. Azur, on the other hand, promptly turned around and carefully touched the ground while observing the footprints.

In a calculated and precise path, Azur sent out one of her crystals toward the unknown in hopes of hitting the detective.

The crystal flew into the white smoke and the room returned to its usual dead calm.

Azur waited for a few seconds before a voice suddenly caught her attention.

[Sherlock] - "You foolish girl, you thought you could catch me by using the footprints I left inside the sea of liquor around you? I'm not a fool, you know! "

[Azur] - *Gasp in shock*

Abruptly, a pair of teeth sank into Azur's neck. As droplets of blood dripped across her shoulder and c.h.e.s.t, the girl remained in an unusual calm face to such a life or death situation.

[Sherlock] - "Elementry, dear Azur. It was fun! "

[Azur, with a grin] - "You sure aren't someone to mess with but I can now guarantee your defeat unless you are some kind of superhuman that can see through everything. "

[Sherlock] (in a confused voice) - "I'm holding you hostage to my ability, how I'm I going... "

A sapphire suddenly raised from the ground below the man and hit him through the left arm. Shocked and surprised, Sherlock moved aside from the gem only to be impaled through the jaw by another piece of crystal.

[Sherlock] (in agony) - "Gaaaargh! "

As he panicked and screamed, his blood spat all over the ground like a red waterfall.

[Azur] - "Bullseye! I knew from your frequent movement that your ability is a close-ranged one so you would surely come close to me and that's why I hid all my five sapphires underground around me so when you attack me, you won't have a direction to escape to... Elementry, dear Sherlock. "

As Sherlock lost his focus, the smoke gradually dissipated around the room and revealed Watson, who tried to hide behind a table. Now exposed like the single hair on a bald head, Watson promptly made a run toward a room before being blocked by Azur's crystals.

In a desperate attempt to save himself, Watson pulled a communication device directly linked to [La Squadra di arresto].

[Karson] - "Azur, don't let him communicate with [La Squadra di arresto], finish him off! "

Watson stood outside Karson's ability range so Azur was the only one that could reach him but before she can attack, Sherlock activated his ability and drove the jaw toward Darlynn's neck.

[Azur] - "No! Darlynn! "

[Karson] - "No, Azur, stop him from calling the squad! "

In the end, Azur decided that the life of her teammate matter more than anything and sent one of her gems through Sherlock's arm.

[Watson, to the micro] - "Arrest Team Zero, they are traitors... "

With a single punch to the face, Karson knocked Watson unconscious and smashed the communicator into pieces.

Enrage, Karson stared at Azur with a menacing stare that sent chill down the girl's spine.

[Karson] (in an enraged voice) - "Useless, you are nothing but useless! "

Sometime later, they were selected to become spies for England's intel agency. One time, as the pair was spying on Talon's activities, they were caught by Sniper who offered them to join him or die, which both accepted to join. In their later years, they were selected to become investigation executioners. Due to Sherlock's great intellect, the team of 2 executioners was known across the association as the best detective team. Today, they hold five medals of honour given by Sniper himself.
