Akane was desperately knocking on the locked door.

"I need to get out of here! I'm going crazy in here! Help! I'm locked up with a bunch of crazy people and a pervert!"

"Hey, did I really deserve that special mention at the end?" Yukkuri said. "Emiko left like 30 seconds ago I guess, how quickly do you get panicked?"

"Yes, you very much deserved that special mention! Now start making noise too, maybe someone will hear us!"

"Screaming for help won't do us any good," Yaruki said as she sat back down on a table. "People rarely go to the abandoned school building unless it is for afterschool club activities, which means we'll be stuck in here for a while"

Akane sunk through her knees to the ground. "Is there really no way to escape this room then?"

"Doesn't the Ethics Committee have keys for some of the classrooms?" Aoi asked.

"You mean those exact keys Emiko used to lock us in here? Why yes, we have those." Akane snarkily answered.

"O- oh, well, yeah, that is right. . ." Aoi stuttered back.

"Wait, I'm sorry for replying that way, I'm just kinda annoyed that so many of my Ethics Committee members are turning against me."

"But Leader, don't they say everything is fine in love and war?" Yami asked.

"Oh indeed, war it is now!" Akane said out loud with fire in the eyes as she jumped at Yami.

"Wait Leader, wait! I promise I'll make it up to you!

"It's too late for apologies, you're gonna have to pay now!"

While Akane and Yami were busy with that, the other tried coming up with an escape plan.

"Isn't there any other places besides the main door that we can leave through?" Yukkuri asked.

"We have a small supply closet, but that does not lead to anywhere outside," Yaruki replied.

"What about the window? Maybe we could jump out of it?" Aoi asked.

Yaruki let out a chuckle. "Jumping out of a window from the 2nd floor? You'd be lucky if you got away with just a few broken bones."

"Maybe if we had a rope or something. . ." Yūi suggested.

". . . Stuck in a room with little chance of escaping . . . Only way out is with something to act as a rope. . . Oh no. . . I can already see where this going. . ." Yukkuri suddenly said. She hugged her c.h.e.s.t as she starting breathing faster. "T- this is exactly like those scenarios in ecchi shows! We'll all be forced to s- strip down and tie our clothes together as a rope to climb out of the window!"

"Why is it that your mind always jumps to the most inappropriate of solutions!" Akane said as she directed her attention away from Yami to remark on Yukkuri's words.

". . . I- inappropriate or not, it might be our best option. . ." Aoi said in a quiet voice, covering her face with her hands while blushing.

"Hmmm. . ." Yaruki made a thinking face. "Before anyone starts stripping, maybe we could try searching for something useful in the supply closet? It has materials some of the old clubs used to use." She pointed at a door.

"Well, it's definitely worth a try," Yūi answered.

The girls started looking through all the supplies disbanded clubs had left behind.

"Look at all this gardening equipment!" Aoi said totally in awe. "We used to have a gardening club, its so sad that got disbanded. . ."

Yūi was just as in awe. "There sure is a lot of artifacts from old clubs. Though I'm not sure why any club would ever need those things. . ." Yūi said as she looked at a stache of candles and what looked like a bloodstained knife.

"M- maybe it's best not to question everything you find. . ."

"Y- yeah."

The girls kept on searching, until. . .

"Hey, I found something!" Yukkuri held up what looked like a water hose. "Must've been from the gardening club I guess."

"It's not very long though," Yaruki said as she inspected the object. "I doubt you'll get much farther than past half the 1st floor. That would be. . . A fall of about 3 meters?"

Yūi pumped her fists forward. "That's fine, I can take a fall of that distance."

"Seems we found our escape then," Akane stated.

They got to work on making their escape. As the other were busy tying the hose to some table and trying to keep it stable, Akane reminded Yūi of the mission one last time. "Your goal is to catch Emiko or to find a way to help us escape, got it?"

"I shall go as well," Yaruki said. "I have a bone to pick with Emiko after what she did to us."

Yami nodded in agreement. "Go kick her a.s.s, Prez!"

"Fine with me, just try not to hold me back," Yūi said with a confident grin.

"Same goes for you," Yaruki replied.

First to climb out of the window was Yūi. She slowly made her way down the hose. Eventually, she was hanging 3 meters above the ground, with no more room to go lower. Yūi let go of the hose and let herself fall to the ground. She was airborne for less than a second before her feet met the ground. Despite landing on her feet, she still ended up falling back on her b.u.t.t.

(Ouch. . . Okay, maybe 3 meters was a bit much. . .)

"Okay, now it's your turn Yaruki!" Yūi yelled up using her hands as a megaphone.

"A- alright, I'm coming!"

Yaruki was climbing down the hose now, but she squinted her eyes closed while slowly making her way towards the ground.

"Hey, maybe you should open your eyes and look down?"

"I- I can't! I'm scared of heights!"

(You've gotta be kidding me. . .)

Yaruki had barely reached the bottom of the 2nd floor when she started having doubts. "O- okay, perhaps this wasn't a smart idea after all, maybe I should go bac-"

*snap*

"Eh?"

As Yaruki tried turning back, the hose suddenly snapped and Yaruki started falling.

"Be careful!"

Just in time, Yūi had jumped in to catch her.

"I got you!" Holding her in a princess carry position, Yūi held Yaruki as she clung to Yūi.

"I was so scared, I thought I was going to die! Please never let go!"

"I- I can't, you're too heavy! Let go!"

As soon as Yūi mentioned heavy, Yaruki snapped out of it. She quickly jumped out of Yūi's arms and started blushing as she looked away.

"I- I'll have you refrain from making such comments about my weight."

Yūi just scratched her head at that in response.

"Come on, Emiko can't have gone too far," Yūi said as she took the lead. With that, the girls started their chase.
