Daily Life Of A Ponytail Girl

"I need to get something to drink. . ."

It was still lunch break at Majimena Academy. In search of something to drink, Yūi was looking for a vending machine. "If I remember correctly, wasn't there one around here somewhere?" She wandered to herself as she walked through the halls.

She walked around a corner, to suddenly be met by the sound of loud beeping. When she looked at the source, she saw a smoking vending machine. Standing in front of the smoking machine was a girl who looked like a first year. She had short red hair, with two pearls separating a strand of hair from the rest. She wore her uniform in the same style as Aoi.

"H- hey there, what happened to the machine?" Yūi asked as she approached the situation.

At the sound of Yūi's voice, the redhead girl jumped back in shock. With fear in her eyes as if she'd seen a monster, she started speaking; "It wasn't me! I swear! I didn't mean to break it! Please, you gotta believe me!"

Yūi replied attempting to calm her down. "Y- you know, immediately jumping to your defense like that only makes you come over as more suspicious. . ."

"T- then what I meant to say w- was that I did actually do it myself! it was totally my intention to break the machine!"

". . . Okay actually, that sounds even worse. . ."

"Eek!"

After giving the girl some time to calm down, Yūi came back to her with two drinks. "It seems all the vending machines are malfunctioning, so I had to go all the way to the cafeteria. Seems it's a school-wide problem somehow. . ."

"S- so it most likely wasn't my fault after all?" the girl said with a hopeful smile.

"Pretty much yeah! Anyways, you wanted black coffee right?" Yūi said as she handed over a can of coffee while the girl gave a slight head shake to sign yes.

"So, what happened to get the machine into this state?"

"Well. . ." the girl started. "I inserted some money and selected what I wanted to order, but then the machine just gave some error message! When I tried to get my money back, the machine started smoking and beeping and. . . and. . . and!"

Getting too much into telling her story, the girl started speaking loudly again.

"Calm down, calm down! I'm sure we can get you your money back, I have connections with the school staff through a friend of mine so it'll all work out. Heck, you can even keep that drink for free and let me handle getting the money back!" The ponytail girl said while giving an energetic smile to calm the first year down.

"Y- you're so nice." the girl replied giving a sincere smile. "Actually. . ." the girl continued. "M- maybe you're a bit too kind. . . Don't tell me y- you're some weirdo pervert who's into jailbait!"

"Hey hey, watch your word choice kid." Yūi said with a deadpan face. "I just want to make sure you don't leave this situation that was outside of your control with a bad aftertaste I guess."

"O- oh sorry, my bad!" the girl hurriedly replied.

"Thank you very much for your kindness!" the girl said, smiling again, to which Yūi gave a smile back.
