Danmachi: Dragon Heart System

Chapter 7 - Preparations

Silver worked hard more than ever as he was amassing his money. Working either part-time or full time if his schedule each day was tight or not.

The amount he earns every day ranging about 600 to 1,000 Valis each day depending on the job he does, be it extreme physical work or other things

One day, Silver was cutting trees until he stopped at a tree which was a little thicker than the rest. He readied his ax, the distance between his feet was equal to his shoulder-length, his position is right in front of the tree. With few swings, the tree fell down.

He removed the branches using his ax, he replanted a twig that was still green and has a chance of growing back at the ground. (in the Philippines, that is what we do or in other places as well, I guess?)

He carried the log that has a length of 10 meters since it was taken down now. Naturally, kids the same age as him can't carry these heavy logs but since he has a system that allows him to see his stats and doesn't even need a god or goddess to update his status.

He managed to cut at least 10 to 15 trees which lengths are around 10 meters and plant them back, though not the same count but double of them.

He found a strange tree that seemed to be compressed and much more durable than a normal tree. He took it down with 10 swings which shows its extreme hardness against his strength of 480 points or it might be just because his ax's edge was not so sharp like before.

"I guess, I need you to be repaired but I won't need it anyway so I might not. Well, maybe I can use this as a starting weapon when I get there, maybe..." he said thinking out loud.

He carried the log which seems to be heavier than the normal ones he cuts.

"Ohoho, Silver! It seems you found a good tree there." Jack said as he saw Silver while smiling.

"How could you tell?" he was curious of what are the secrets of these veterans of this job.

"I've already known you, Silver. Your face shows me that you are carrying something heavier and you gripped the log tightly," he said as he signaled him to put down the log.

Jack touched the log's skin, knocked it a little and swung his ax trying to cut the log. However, no matter how strong he is, he was only able to cut it with the same force as Silver but he still continued until it was split into two, the small was 2 meters and the length was 8 meters.

Jack gave Silver the small one as he said, "Make it your weapon, as a staff, to use anywhere anytime, even on the public as it has no blade, nor spike.

"Alright, I'll take it to Old man Taro, thank you!" he said as he carried it as he entered the village.

He stopped by at the blacksmith, Old man Taro, who was once a member of Goibniu Familia and was one of the most skilled newbies when he joined.

Silver had him create a weapon suitable for him as he was pretty skilled in many weapons if not, his martial arts can cover his weakness and flaws from his movements. Meanwhile, Silver asked Taro to teach him how to create a weapon, however, he refused to his request as he admits that he was not that skilled. Silver's only hope was to learn either from Hephaestus or Goibniu for smithing weapons and armors.

Two weeks have passed, his birthday was near, he needed to get his weapon as he didn't look at it while being created to surprise himself of what weapon he got from Old man Taro.

The 2-meter log that was given to him was now a staff which was 4 centimeters or 1.58 inch thick. He added some weights in it that weighs at least 796 kg that was 10 times less than Sun Wukong's Ruyi Jingu Bang.

He called it Dragon Staff as a respect for the Great Dragon to bless him and the system that granted him another life in this world. The reason why he called it Dragon Staff was, the weights he added were customized by him and they looked like metal plate with gibberish words but it's not, it is a Dragon Language from TESV: Skyrim that says, "Zeim Fin Lokke" which means, "Through the skies" on the other end was, "Hunne Neh Feim" which meant, "Heroes never fade" that came from a game where that hero was the Son of the Dragon.

During the first 3 days of the first week, he was creating his own staff and the rest of the days was either training on using his Dragon Staff or working. Since he will depart soon and go to Orario, he stopped working as he already earned pretty much, he has a hundred thousand Valis as he was really working hard.

"Bell, are you ready to go to Orario? Do you have all your things?" Silver asked Bell to make sure he's not forgetting something.

"Yes, Brother! I have brought my clothes." Bell answered cheerfully as this was the day he waited for the most.

"Alrighty! Time to go to Orario!"
