Delayed Transfer

Mark arrived at Donald Dren’s mansion after an hour.  He was led to Donald’s office by Robert who met him at the door.

When they met at the office,  Donald shook Mark’s hand and greeted him.  Then he was led to sit on the huge couch.  Once they sat down, Donald began telling him the situation.

“My cousin, Amanda, called me regarding a situation that’s been happening on her Mansion.  We knew there’s something going on with her because for a long time now, she had been inviting all sorts of questionable people at her home against the family’s advice.  Psychics, Divination Masters and the likes.  Charlatans and scammers all of them.  If Amanda hadn’t stopped me, I would’ve all of them arrested.  I thought that she was just being willful and eccentric.  She then called me yesterday saying she’s going to kill herself.  She said that she couldn’t stand the voice in her head asking her to do despicable things anymore.”

Mark had goosebumps.  This was exactly the kind of things he was most of afraid of pre-system initiation.  First of, before the System, despite him being an otaku, he thought that all the supernatural things were just either stories to scare children or bullshit from the internet since there were actually no ghost footage clear enough to see even with all the technology that they had.  In actuality, he was hoping that they was just scary stories to scare children and bullshit from the internet because he thought that he may not be able to stand confronting those kind of things.  Now, it maybe different with all he skills that he had but still, he wasn’t really sure.

Donald continued, “I was concern so I went to her house to check on her and I was surprise that the house was really quiet.  Normally in a house like that, you could hear some noises.  Maids cleaning, gardeners doing their thing in the garden, that sort of things, but her house was too quiet and when I checked, there was really no one.   So I went to her room to see if she was there and I heard some noises inside.  I thought she was inside,  watching something on her tablet or phone so I knocked.”

Donald paused, stood up and went to the mini bar at the side to get a glass of wine.  He offered Mark some but he declined.  When he sat down again he continued.

“She’s not answering her door but I still hear the noises. I knocked again loudly calling her name but she was still not answering so I opened the door.   The first thing I saw was her on the bed floating.  Like that movie, with the evil possession or something.  I double checked since there were lots of ways to do it because I saw some pranks online but she was really floating.  Then she suddenly turned her head at me and screamed. I stumbled back out of her room.“  Donald paused for a bit to drink from his glass and Mark could see his hands trembling a little.

“I called my people.  My guards, the doctors and nurses even my pastor to come.  When my guards arrived together with the doctors and my pastor, I knocked on the door again and this time we actually heard her answer.  She said, “come in,” in her normal voice as if nothing happened.  We entered together with a guard, a doctor and my pastor who was a bit late.  She was on her bed looking as if she just woke up.  And then she asked what’s wrong.  I asked her if she’s okay and suddenly she screamed, jumped from her bed and skittered to the wall up to the ceiling like she was n insect.  A spider or a cockroach.”  Donald drank the whole glass and got up to get some more wine.  He brought the whole bottle with him and the trembling of his hands were more pronounced.

Mark was a bit shocked.  He didn’t know what to think.  It was really like a movie. A horror movie. “Then what happened”.

“Well, the pastor fainted and my guard looked like he was trying to get a gun from his waist thankfully he didn’t bring a gun with him or else he would have shot Amanda.  She screamed at us again then she fell from the ceiling to the floor.  The doctor and I rushed to her to check if she suffered any injury but thank God she didn’t.  We put her on the bed and asked the guard to stay.  The guard actually didn’t want to but I told him that of course he wouldn’t be alone.  I asked a couple of more guys to come in to stay and asked the doctor to check the situation. I called a lot of people to populate the mansion. You know for cleaning and cooking and stuff but to be honest I just did it to make sure that there we were surrounded by a lot of people.  Now here we are.”

“To be honest with you Donald, I don’t know anything about this type of situation.” Mark said.

“You’re the only one I know who is remotely connected to the Supernatural who isn’t a scammer.  The pastor that I invited was useless.  When he woke up and tried to do his thing like read the bible to Amanda, we were expecting something to happen but there was no reaction from her.”

Mark thought for a bit.  He wondered what would happened if he summoned the Dryad’s Circle on Amanda.  He was really curious.

“Okay Donald, I’ll try.  Can we go there now?”  Donald was very happy with Mark’s decision and wasted  no time in getting to Amanda’s mansion.

Mark, Donald and his brother the lawyer traveled together to Amanda’s mansion.  When they got there, Mark saw a lot of people.  Most looked like bodyguards patrolling, some were just people who were doing tasks he couldn’t identify.  He then remembered Donald saying earlier that he called a lot of people to tend to the mansion and to populate it.
