A whole Golden Age shipyard, but crawling with Fallen.

-Arach Jalaal

"Ouch!"

A voice that changed my life forever.

Especially here in the Cosmodrome in Old Russia. What I remembered that day was the blue sky with white puffy clouds every so often floating away like there's no care in the world. I was here on a mission. A mission that no one knew about, except for the three of us. All I remembered was cars that were rusted on a broken highway and the grass dying beneath me with a green and brown tint to them.

"Is it possible?"

Out in the distance was an eerie sound that I will never forget. It was a screech of something that shouldn't be here. Something that was unliving. Out in the distance was the Fallen, I know those sounds. I have been around their sounds for as long as I could remember Yet, these were the sounds of the hatred. Those were the sounds of the darkness. I remember now. The darkness. The darkness that killed us years ago. I happened to be killed along with it and possibly among millions of others as well. But I know that I'm dead. If I am correct, The Fallen is scouting to see if there's any life on this dead planet to see if there's anything could take for their own. But, I can hear this voice. A little voice that should leave or it will die and lose everything it has. I don't know you but I'm trying to save you. Unlike someone trying to save me.

I don't know your voice.

I don't know you, yet.

Why do I hear something scanning? Everything is dead. Not one living soul will be found here. Whoever that is scanning, just leave while you have the chance. Wait... I am dead so I shouldn't be able to hear my thoughts, yet I can. So, therefore, I could be alive. Or I could be both since this is the scenario. I want to move and open my eyes, but I cannot. I want to look and see what everything looks like since the darkness destroyed everything. But I cannot. "There you are." That voice again, I can hear you but I can't see what it is or who it is until I heard something bust open. Within that moment. I knew I was alive; I shot up and took a deep breath like I died millions of years ago. Technically I did. A thousand years ago to be exact.

"Guardian...Guardian....Eyes up, Guardian!"

My luminescent gray eyes opened for the first time since I've died. I blinked a few times just to get coherent of what's surrounding me. I looked up at the perfect blue sky but I had to move my left arm to block the sun because my eyes began to burn a bit. I moved my hands on both sides. I am fully alive. But then I look in front of me and jumped a bit before I started to back up to a car.

"It was you! I heard from you!" I quietly shouted because I know in the distance there could be fallen or anything really out there waiting to kill me again. After the darkness who knows what could be out here on Earth or anywhere. Yet, this robot floating thing keeps circulating around me and I'm afraid it might just kill me again so I swap at it so it can go away but it doesn't seem phased more like an annoyance.

"It worked! You're alive! You don't know how long I've been looking for you. I'm Ghost and you...well, you been dead for a long time. So you're going to see a lot of things you won't understand."

"Ghost, I know a lot of things that you might not know. I remembered how I died. I know where I came from and I know what killed me."

The Ghost blink it's one eyeball at me like I cursed it out something, however, I raised a brow as I slowly got up making sure I knew how to walk. I knew how to talk so that's out of the way. I'm surprised it's not any other language like Russian. Glad it's English. Hearing my voice, it was the same before I died. Somewhat deep but firm but still had some highness to my pitch so I know I'm still a female. I reached for my b.o.o.b.s and pushed them up and have them come back down. Okay now I know I'm one hundred percent female. I don't remember this bodysuit though. I'll ask questions later. However, I heard the screeches again. This time it was louder than ever. We both turned our attention to the open field that was before us with dead grass and seen the Fallen coming after us.

Shit!

"This is Fallen Territory now, we aren't safe like we use too, Silvia. I have to get you back to the city. Hold Still." I frowned once I seen the ghost disappeared but a helmet was placed on my head, I guess for protection? Luckily I still have a wide outlook so I wouldn't be so blindsided. "I'm still here, but I'm your helmet at the moment. But we need to move fast because we won't survive out here. Get inside the wall."

Watching them get closer, I turned to my left and dashed towards the building. Woah? Have I ever ran this fast before? I personally don't think so. But I was running between a trail of dirt and rusted cars that were on both of my sides of me. "I didn't bring you back so you can die again, so move quickly!" Well, that answer one of many questions.

Caw Caw

Birds? So there is some lifeform on this planet. Interesting. However, I was already at the steps of the building and made my way inside. Luckily the door was open, so I just popped myself right in. Running on the first set of stairs, then another, then another, then another. Damn, there's a lot of stairs. Until I was on a what looks like a sturdy catwalk. Then more steps. Is this building made of steps? Nonetheless, it was becoming darker and darker the further I went but I guess the Ghost flipped on a light on my helmet for me to see somewhat clearly... Thank you? I have been through darkness once and I will never allow it l. My breathing was heavy because I'm running for my life from these things, maybe staying dead wasn't a bad idea after all. Although, I really want to find answers on why am I alive.

"Ghost, how do you know my name?"

"Quiet, I answer that once we find you a weapon. Also don't say anything because they might be above us. So stay here." He whispered. Well tickle me, Freddy, the Ghost ejected from my helmet but my helmet is still on. What? Okay yeah, maybe the Ghost is right, I don't know anything anymore.

However, I can still hear him. I guess it's a transporter, communication thing I guess. "Fallen thrives in the dark. We won't. So we need more light. I'll see what I can do."

The little light is gone, so I wait and turn my head just to make sure nothing was behind me. I swallowed because honestly, I'm scared. I'm normally not scared. I walked forward with my hands out and touched a rail. I walked along with it until I was on the edge. My light from my helmet wasn't bright but I could see maybe 5 feet away from me which was good because I almost fell down a hole.

"Another one of these harden military systems and a few centuries of entropy working against me..."

"I have a bad feeling about this," I whispered but to only see lights turn on quickly. But one slight problem that ruins the victory. Fallen was everywhere. And the Cosmodrome was bigger than I expected, lengthwise.

"They're coming for us!" We both shouted at each other." Luckily, The Ghost hurried up to get this gate open.

"Here! A rifle! Grab it!" Beating him to it, I already had reached down to grab it. Although it's been a while since I shot anything, today, that will change. "Hope you know how to use that thing!"

"Ghost, if you know me, I worked for the Queen many years ago! One thing for sure, we had to learn to shoot."

Moving swiftly I jogged across a walkway but something moved in front of us. Great. So we just going to play hide and seek? I seek very well. By the time I turned to that first corner they started to come out like mutated ants.

"Found ya!" I began shooting. Headshots only because they can't get back up. But if I remember correctly, Ether was coming out of their heads with each headshot. Remembering my training, I was careful each turn of the corner.

Headshot, headshot, headshot, they just won't stop coming.

However, one corner I stopped because it was a c.h.e.s.t of some sort, "Ghosts, unlock this for me." I was supposed to ask but it came out as a demand. He came from behind and did his scanning thing and it opened. "Thank you." I walked over to it and found a sniper and some glimmer. The Ghost already scanned everything and it disappeared. The hell? "Where did it go?!"

"In my...well your inventory." Ahh. That's neat. Placing my rifle back up to my eyes using the scope I see something red hanging from the wall as soon as I turned.

"Trip Mines, don't touch them." So what did I do? Of course, shoot them. And along with trip mines, there's Fallen. I had my Ghost find me ammo and luckily there were plenty. Each turn I was taking them out. One by one. I have a grudge against them. They killed me. So, I see this as an act of revenge.

"There's more ahead." No shit sherlock. When will this end? But I kept going. I don't think the Queen would like her favorite killer to be dead again or quitting. So with that, I just keep going and killing. Going further into the wall I killed those Fallen. I don't know where I was going, at this point I'm going along with the feeling in my gut. Because hey, when you wake up from the dead, you pretty much don't know jack.

"The Fallen have a tighter hold on this place than I thought. Just a little bit further. Let's hope there's something left out there..."

"Right before I died, they rushed in and killed everything. Nothing could stop them. I saw their faces before. They're pure evil." I spoke softly as I walked out from the wall to an open space in the middle of the Cosmodrome. I looked around and have seen old sheds or communicators to something that I couldn't comprehend. There were a bunch of satellites around as well that could possibly hear anything on different planets. Anyways, it was dark and the moon was bright enough to the point it lit the ground fully. I placed my gun down and walked out slowly and carefully just in case I get surrounded.

"This is the old Cosmodrome. This area is called The Divide. There's got to be something to fly out of here."

"Right. If anything, a ship will definitely help." I replied back but I instantly turned my head to the right because not only is the sky ripping apart with this purple and white portal thing, there's something coming out of it as well and it seemed like it exploded a star along with it. "Switch me out for the sniper."

Feeling a different weight I brought the scope to my eye and seen there were a few sh.i.p.s coming through the portal. I sighed so heavily because now I'm getting annoyed.

"Fallen sh.i.p.s? Close to the surface?!" The Ghost is surprised. That's not good. "Clear them out Sil." He even knows my nickname. Okay, I have serious questions. But you know what, at this point, I'm not surprised.

"Rifle please and thank you."

"You're welcome. I'm surprised you know your past. Maybe The Traveler has something store for you, I just feel it in my wires"

I scoffed. "I highly doubt that. Let's go." I placed my rifle up to my face and ran towards the enemy again.

Another headshot, another one and another one. Woohoo, am I having fun? Hell no. This isn't what I wanted. I was forced to do this and now, I'm thinking this going to be my new life. Killing and surviving.

"Well you are right about one thing, there is a ship. I'm picking up signs of an old one. Could be our ticket way out."

"Good!" I gripped tighter to the rifle as I move swiftly killing these ugly things. I could feel the sweat inside my gloves. The boots that I'm wearing are surprisingly comfortable. If they weren't, this probably won't be happening. I would be dead again.

Anyways, making my way into another building and I ended up clearing out the Fallen that was in there too. I haven't paid any attention to what is in these buildings because every corner or nook I'm getting shot at. But definitely know, for one thing, everything on Earth is old and rusted. Hearing my boots stomping the ground I stopped just to make sure nothing is around. I sigh as I leaned up against a random pillar of the building. I bent down for a quick second to take a breather. Coming from the shadows we walked up to another open space with water puddles around and there's a ship! It was hanging by cables but the ship is real! I can get the hell outta here.

"Welcome to Dock 13. Well, let me see if I can free this-"

"Dang it!" I yelled as I ran and slid behind a pillar. I unclipped the rounds for the gun and seen how much I had. Damn it. "Ghost, spot me a clip real quick!" It wasn't long when I had a full clip in my hand. I pop that mug in and brought the rifle up and went to work but was caught off guard when a Fallen was next to me. I punched it with the gun but it didn't any justice. I wish I had a knife. And I'll be damned, it popped up right when I needed it. I quickly stabbed the thing in the c.h.e.s.t and shot it in the head to make sure it stayed down. I turned around and another one tried to do the same thing and I repeated the stabbing and then shot it in the head. I walked around the ship for cover and noticed a Fallen had a blue shield around it. I guess it's their leader if I'm correct. I shot a few rounds into it and the shield drop, good. Because one bullet to the head and he dropped.

"Ghost, did you supply me a knife?" Coming from behind the ship, I sighed as I took a long look at this ship. It was...old for one thing. Brown and yellow with big round coils for the engine.

"Yes, I did. You're welcome again." I smiled behind the helmet as I held the gun by my side but still gripped it tightly just in case.

"So, the ship been here for a while so it's not going to break orbit, but it just might get us to the city. Luckily the Fallen hasn't completely picked it cleaned."

"All I need to know is, will it fly?"

"I can make it work. Now about that transmat..." I didn't say anything else but I looked around. Rusty cooper rods and a hole in the ceiling when I looked up. Looking back down I noticed a hole in the wall with glowing amber eyes. I quickly brought my gun up and started shooting and a swarm of Fallen popped on us.

"Ghost!"

"Bringing you in!" Before I knew it, I was already on the ship. Flipping some switches on and hearing the ship roar to life. Wonderful, power and I can feel it floating. I took the control wheel an began to lift us up. Once I clear the clearance thanks to my ghost for guiding me, I pulled the ship back, hand on the throttle and pushed it forward for full speed and we were out of that hellhole. However, before we were out of sight, I have seen someone or something watching. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks with me. I mean I was dead so I could be seeing a ghost. No pun intended.

"We can come back for them once you're ready. Let's get you home." Once we were in the air, I began to breathe a bit better. The Ghost took off my helmet and placed it in my inventory within him. I looked next to me and seen the little oddball machine. He was a cubic diamond literally with a little light in the middle. He floats and moves around and I know I have to get used to that. But thanks to him, I have a life and he helped me live for the day.

"Thank you Ghost for keeping me alive."

"Absolutely welcome. That's my job to keep you alive. That's exactly what the Traveler wanted."

"Yeah, the same Traveler that brought darkness with him too. Until I see differently, I still think he wants to kill me."

Ghost stayed quiet and so did I. However, noticing that we were going over snowy mountains, then a thunderstorm that seems so abnormal to me, and finally, some nice peach-colored clouds that would only mean that the sun was setting. I'm so glad that I paid attention because I had to steer this ship around this huge snowy white ball that was hanging over a city. What the....? I flew around it to see what has happened over the years after I died and I can say, I was amazed. It's an actual city that seemed to calm and safe. However, I flew around the ball again and came around this...Tower? and flew a bit lower this time and before I knew it I was transmitted on to the ground of a platform that I have just seen from the ship.

"Ghost where is the ship going?! You can't just do that randomly! You're going to be the one that kills me!" I shouted and the people that were walking by looked at me like I was crazy. Already starting off bad at a place I do not know. I sighed, rubbing my face as I'm already getting annoyed.

"I sent it to the hanger here on the Tower. It's safe and I put it on autopilot when we come to the city. Stop worrying."

"Heads up next time would be helpful thank you," I spoke to him like he was my friend. I guess he was my friend because he did help me out there. Possibly my only friend that I will have. The thought hurts but it could be the truth.

"Anyways, Silvia this is the last safe city on Earth-the only place The Traveler can still protect. It took centuries to build. Now, we're counting every day it still stands. And this Tower is where the Guardians will live. But personally, I think you'll do great things. Bigger things than most. Maybe better things than Vanguard."

I turned around to look at everyone talking and laughing. Just having a jolly ole time. I sighed.

I guess I will have to deal with this till I die again.
