Disastrous New Age

About 50 goblins were killed.

"Damn there are not many drops this time." After killing so many goblins, Lucian wasn't satisfied with the drop rate this time. Then he looked at Sophia and asked, "Do you believe me now?"

Sophia just nodded.

'It seems like I finally got her to work for me' He could see it by his expression that she was amazed. He finally got a party member.

As for now, Sophia would work for him until she decided to quit.

Now that Lucian was her boss, he left the portal with her.

"Now come to this place tomorrow and you can start working then." Lucian gave her his address and then left.

He needed to buy all the equipment that was needed for crafting. He had no equipment for that so he needed to use his credits to buy it.

Knowing where to buy that equipment, he decided to go to that store.

As he stepped in front of that store, he was greeted by a huge sign saying Crafter Shop Get Everything You Need Here.

Then he went inside. He was greeted by rows and rows of different equipment.

He himself didn't know what kind of the equipment he needs to buy so he went directly to the clerk and told him to buy the whole set of crafting equipment.

"Sir, the whole set of crafting equipment costs exactly 450 credits. Please come to the counter and let us make the transaction." As the clerk said that he walked directly to the counter and prepared all of the equipment that is needed.

Then Lucian sent him the 450 credits that were needed to buy and the clerk accepted the transaction.

"Thank you for purchasing a set of crafting equipment." The clerk then gave him all of the things. Immediately Lucian stored all of the items into his Inventory.

He thanked the clerk and left the store. He went to his home after that.

Since he didn't have enough credits to get a new building especially for the workers he will have in the future, the only place he could use as a workshop right now was his house.

He didn't have any other property, so he needed to put everything inside his house. Although his house was quite far away from the academy and was in poor part of the city, it was still nicely taken care of.

If the person didn't know, whose house this is, he would think it was someone's who is quite rich.

As Lucian came inside his house, he took all of the crafting equipment from his Inventory and placed it in the living room.

Since the living room was barely used in the house and it was the biggest part of the house, it was the best place to let Sophia work.

As he finished putting down all of the crafting equipment. A notification from the System appeared.

[Chinese Guild has beaten the First Floor Boss. With the first boss being beaten an even has been triggered. Everyone with a Job will be transferred.]

After reading this notification a blue light appeared around Lucian and he disappeared from where his was standing.

In just a moment he appeared in a totally different place. The first thing he did was to look around. He saw a lot of people around him. It seemed that they were in the same situation as he was in. they were all looking around.

But before everyone could look around even more another System notification appeared before then.

[Battlers are put into a different place than people who only focus on Jobs. Every battler on Earth is in this colosseum.]

Then a notification for people with a Job appeared only for them and a notification for battlers appeared only for battlers.

[You will be put into pairs. Pairs will be decided by age. The new Battlers that are 18 years old will be paired with the most experienced battlers. After the pairs are made, you will be fighting against another pair. Killing is allowed. After a person is killed, they will be revived after the fight and will be eliminated from the competition. The top 10 pairs get a reward.]

[Let the pairing begin.]

People were starting to be teleported around the colosseum. Someone in his forties was teleported next to Lucian.

"Hey there I guess I'm paired with you." The man looked at Lucian with a smile.

This was totally new for everyone here so people were hoping to get a good teammate and get to top 10. That man also told Lucian his Class and who he was.

Lucian was really surprised after hearing the identity of this man. The man he was paired with is actually the guild leader of the China Guild. His name was Zhang Ye and his Class was Swordsman.

Then Lucian also introduced himself. He told him his Class and that he was a student of Kansas academy.

It wasn't a problem to talk. Although that person was Chinese, he knew how to speak English very fluently. As English was taught in every academy, it wasn't a problem for people in different countries to talk in English.

[Everyone has been paired and had also time to talk between each other. Now the battle will start. Every person's level will be reduced to one, for the fairness of this competition. Skills and spells will also be reset to level one. Everything will be back after the even ends.]

"I'll put a mask on. Please don't disclose my identity, I don't want to have any trouble after the competition." Lucian looked at Zhang Ye while saying this.

Zhang Ye nodded in response. He understood that there were some people that didn't want to be recognized.

The only mask Lucian had was Ghost Mask.

[Now the rewards will be announced. ]

[From tenth to fifth place will receive a reward of thousand credits and a D-rank weapon that fits their class. ]

[Fourth and third place will receive two thousand credits, a D-rank weapon that fits their class and a skill. ]

[Second place will receive five thousand credits, a C-rank weapon that fits their class, and a skill.]

[First place pair will receive ten thousand credits, a C-rank weapon that fits their class, a skill and a spell.]

After reading through that and seeing the rewards everyone became excited. They decided to go all in this time.

Lucian decided the same. He thought of equipping some normal armor but he realized that he didn't have any.

Luckily the notification about the rewards appeared and he decided to use his full power here. He equipped his Flaming Lion C.h.e.s.tplate, Kobold's Leggings, Moon Wolf Dagger and Void dagger. He put Ghost Mask before the notification.

He was fully prepared to fight.

"You got some nice equipment there, how did you get it? Also that mask seems very familiar." Zhang Ye noticed the equipment. It must be a high quality one but he didn't see this kind of equipment before. Also he had seen that mask before, but he didn't remember where.

It wasn't strange. Ghost Face appeared in photos a year ago. But then he didn't appear for a year. After so much time it was natural that a lot of people forgot about him.

[Teleporting will begin in 10 seconds, please prepare yourself.]

In 10 seconds, everyone was teleported.

They were all put into their respective arenas. Lucian and Zhang Ye were faced against another pair.

"It's the Japanese Guild leader." Zhang Ye pointed at their opponent. Lucian looked at the man. The man was using a magic wand, it seemed like he was a Mage the other person beside him was holding a bow.

"A long ranged pair. This will be annoying." Zhang Ye was already blaming his bad luck for this.

Lucian nodded. Two melee fighters were at a huge disadvantage against two long ranged fighters. It was very hard to fight against them unless they had good enough skills for that.

[First round now begins. Fight!]

The round had started and Sakamoto, the Japanese Guild leader cast the Fireball spell. He was directly aiming at Lucian. Since he knew he couldn't do much against Zhang Ye since Zhang Ye was stronger than him, he needed to get rid of Lucian first.

At the same time, the young man beside shot his arrow at Zhang Ye. He knew that Sakamoto wanted to kill Lucian first so he just needed to distract Zhang Ye, so he couldn't help Lucian.

However Lucian already knew their plan. He used Stealth to disappear from their sight. They already knew that Lucian was a Rouge by seeing his weapons but they still didn't expect him to react so fast.

He already moved in Stealth so the Fireball spell missed it's target.

Now as he was moving Zhang Ye used Wind Slash skill. He swung his sword and a slash started traveling through the air. It was aimed towards the young man beside Sakamoto.

As the Wind Slash was going towards the young man, Sakamoto went forward to intercept it. It seems that they totally forgot about Lucian and were focusing fully on Zhang Ye.

Sakamoto cast a Fireball and it collided with Wind Slash. What was left of the collision was only smoke.

But just as is collided, Lucian appeared behind that young man and slashed his throat. Now from the enemy pair only Sakamoto was alive.

Seeing his partner die and knowing that he had no chance to fight against both Lucian and Zhang Ye, he decided to give up.
