Dragon Ball: New Life

Two young men casually strolled down the sidewalk of a large metropolitan city. The streets were busy, even though it was still early. One of the young men was wearing a long sleeved white shirt, a black vest with a circular badge with the Prometheus flame in the center, and red pants. He had spiky short cut hair and looked to be excited. His companion was just a bit taller and wearing a long sleeved black under suit with jeans, and Prometheus military black boots. He had long spiky blue hair and also wore the circular badge with the symbol of the Prometheus Empire. Unlike his friend, the blue haired young man looked anything but excited.

"How long has this city been called Raditz City, Gohan?" the blued haired youth asked.

"I'm pretty sure the name was changed not long after the Cell fight." Gohan answered. The city was previously Orange City, but they changed it in gratitude for their Emperor saving the planet.

The two turned the corner at the end of the block to head towards their destination. They talked about random things to avoid a silent walk. After awhile, Gohan noticed how disinterested his cousin was about the prospect of attending school.

"So why did you decided to go to school, Reiss? I mean I was pretty much forced to, but I'm actually looking forward to it." Gohan said.

"I was forced into it myself. Mom thought I should "Enjoy my youth" and "make friends," even though I was educated on Gren' dir," Reiss explained. Having Big Gete as a tutor really advanced the bounds of his scholastic knowledge.

Even though Reiss was older than his cousin, they would be in the same class. Everyone under twenty that qualified to attend would all start at the same level on their first year. Over the course of their education, there would be opportunities to skip grades if it was warranted.

The sound of weapon fire from around the corner ahead of them interrupted their conversation. They could see a balding old man peeking around the building in front of them. The Saiyans approached the man to find out what was happening.

"Old guy, what's going on?" Reiss asked.

The man old man was surprised by the pair of youths walking up behind him. He jumped in fear as he turned to see who the speaker was.

"Oh," the man clutched his c.h.e.s.t, "You really scared me."

After collecting himself, the man explained that a bank robbery had occurred and the thieves were currently in a shootout with the police. Reiss and Gohan peered around the corner to see the criminals exchanging fire with two officers who were crouched behind their vehicle. It was clear the officers didn't have long because they were outgunned and outnumbered.

"A bank robbery!" Reiss was excited, "We should take care of this, it will be quick!"

"If someone see us, we won't be able to keep a low profile at school." Gohan warned.

"Who cares, it's not like I can be low profile in Raditz City and attending the Prometheus Academy." the blue haired youth never believed low profile was an option.

"Okay, fine." Gohan agreed although he was sure his mother would not approve. "Can we at least turn Super Saiyan before we go in?" Unlike, his cousin Gohan was never a fan of attention.

The two transformed into their respective Super Saiyan states and headed into the combat zone. Reiss confidently walked towards the criminals with his green hair and golden aura blazing around him.

"Gohan, you should get the security soldiers to safety." Reiss ordered. "I'll handle the other guys."

"They're called police on Earth." Gohan corrected. "You can tell you haven't been on Earth for long."

"Whatever." Reiss shrugged.

The past month was the longest time Reiss had spent on the planet. If it wasn't for the fact that he need to register for classes, he would have waited until the start date to even come to Earth. He preferred travel through space over being on a planet.

The bank robbers stopped shooting in the directions of the police officers when they saw Reiss slowly approaching. Not know what the glowing youth could be intending to do, they focused their weapons in his direction. They knew they were close to wearing down the two cops and would soon be capable of making their escape.

At this time Gohan, who was hanging back, saw the criminals shift their focus. He used the opportunity to vanish to where the officers were hiding. The two police were stunned by the youths arrival behind the police car.

"I'm getting you out of here." he said, grabbing up the frightened cops and vanishing back to the end of the street.

"Stop right there!" the lead thief barked at Reiss.

The green haired Saiyan put his hands into his pockets and continued his casual stroll towards the burglars. The thief was getting angered by the fact his orders weren't being followed. Not only were his orders ignored, but the young man seemed to be acting like it was a normal day.

"I said stop kid! Don't think I won't shoot!" the leader threatened.

"Maybe if you had a Prometheus Empire military laser, I would be worried and that is a big maybe." Reiss chuckled. "And if you had one, you would have already used it."

BANG!

The leader fired at the casually strolling Reiss after his commands were completely ignored by the c.o.c.ky youth. The thief thought his aim was on the mark, but he lost sight of the mysterious hero as soon as he fired.

"Did you see whe-" the leader turned to ask his men but his words were instantly cut off by what he saw.

Reiss piled up all five of the thief's men and was standing with one foot resting on top of them. The criminal leader had no idea how the scene before him came to be. Somehow all of his men were beaten and broken in the time it took for him to fire his gun. Cold sweat drenched the thief as he thought about what fate awaited him. He nearly stumbled on the sidewalk as he tried to retreat a few steps back from the monster that ruined his heist.

The thief once again held up his gun prepared to fire, but Reiss quickly appeared a step in front of him. The Super Saiyan calmly reached out and clutched the gun, crushing it and the bones in his hand into dust. The robber was only able to release a short scream before being knocked unconscious.

"Ok! That's taken care of!" Reiss appeared by the reverted Gohan. "Too bad we still have to go to class."

"Yeah, we should go, we don't want to be late." Gohan said as Reiss reverted to his base form.

The two started to walk away from the scene of the foiled bank robbery when a pigtailed girl with a slender build landed on the sidewalk. She was wearing a long white shirt, with black gloves, and bicycle shorts.

"Hey! Did either of you two see what happened here!" the girl asked in an aggressive tone.

"Yeah we did, but we're late." Reiss said dismissively. He noticed the girl was flying, yet Gohan had suggested walking as to not draw too much attention.

Reiss had already started walking away from the girl. Gohan wasn't sure if he should leave or apologies for his cousin being short with the girl.

"Sorry, but we are late." Gohan bowed in apology and ran off to catch up with his cousin.

After they left, the girl couldn't shake the feeling she had seen the teen boys before, but just could figure out where. An old man wearing a black suit and hat ran up to the girl as she examined the scene of the ruined bank robbery.

"It's good to see you Videl." the man greeted.

"What happened to the thieves?" the girl asked.

"It was incredible, I never seen anything like that in person." the man beamed with excitement as he recapped the events.

Videl's eyes widened with clarity after she realized the people responsible for stopping the criminals were the two guys that left earlier. She knew she should have questioned them more before letting them leave the area. Now she was left without any clues as to the identity of the heroes.

"Do you have any idea who they were?" she asked.

"I was sure you knew 'em." the man said, "I thought they were classmates of yours."

"Why would think that?" she had never seen those two before.

"They were wearing Prometheus Academy badges like yours." the man pointed to the badge on

Videl's hip.

"Thanks." Videl said. Now that she knew they went to her school, it would be easy to find them. Her main question was why she never saw them at school before.

The 1-B classroom was full of chatter about the new students that would be joining the class. The students speculated wildly about the mystery students. Bets were made about whether they would be male or female.

Videl was seated in the stadium style classroom next to her friend Erasa. Their friend, Sharpner, was seated on the row behind them. The blonde girl Erasa was trying to talk with Videl, but she was lost in her thoughts about who the two fighters could've been.

"What do you think the new students will be like?" the cheerful Erasa asked. After not getting a response, she snapped her fingers in front of the zoned out girl. "Earth to Videl!"

Videl was shocked back to reality, "I'm sorry Erasa. What did you say?"

"I asked you about the new students." Erasa said.

"What new students?" Videl was surprised it was the first she was hearing about new students.

"Oh yeah, you weren't here earlier when the professor explained our class was getting some new students." Erasa explained.

Videl was about to process this new information when the classroom door opened. In walked the pair of teens she met earlier in the morning. The chatter erupted when the two walked into the room. The professor motioned for them to stand near his podium to introduce them.

"Eeee!" Erasa squealed at a low volume full of excitement.

"What? Do you know them?" Videl whispered.

Erasa rapidly nodded her head at her friend's question, "The one with the blue hair is the imperial prince, Videl! How could you not know?"

"I would like to introduce your new classmates." the professor began. "This is Son Gohan and Prometheus Reiss."

Reiss and Gohan went to find seats after their quick introduction by the teacher. Reiss noticed an excited blonde girl with a green tube shirt with horizontal stripes waving at them.

"There is space over here!" she shouted.

Seeing no better choice, they headed over to take their seats. After sitting down next to the girl, she immediately rolled out the welcome wagon.

"I'm Erasa. The guy behind us is Sharpner." she introduced them. "And that's Videl, she is a crime fighter in the city."
