Dream System Of Seven Sins

Chapter 18 - Ye of Little Faith (6)

The girl wreathed in flame looked to her left and right as if she too did not know how to react in this situation. It was obvious that this had never happened in her dream before. Eventually, she settled on what appeared to be the most appropriate reaction given the situation. She bowed. As she did so, the flame seemed to tip alongside her as well.

Eevie cleared her throat and began in a charming manner, "Honey, that was brilliant. If you feel like you have a ball of fire burning in you, let it shine, if not it will just burn you up alive from within, we don't want that now, do we?

"So, Emily, don't hold yourself back. Don't be afraid, be proud of your talent. Go and light up the world."

The girl stood where she was, probably not expecting the rush of compliments. She continued to bow and it was then that the flames washed away from her as if she was shedding them like clothes.

The hall was as spacious as she expected and indeed she was the only spectator in sight.

Eventually, the flames dimmed and everything returned back to normal. Eevie glanced towards the spot where the little girl stood earlier and there was a pile of blackened ashes where she once was.

Eevie's footsteps echoed through the hall as she walked out from her seat and up the stairs to the stage. The wooden stage creaked under her feet and she stopped at the edge of the ash spot.

She squatted down and used her hands to brush away the ash. Little black dusts of ash flew up into the air as she did so but magically none of them got stuck to her skin. As the pool of ash dispersed, a blue card was revealed to be sitting at the bottom. Written at the bottom was the words, "Essence of Sloth".

Eevie picked it up with a satisfied smile and stood up after that. She dropped the card right into her sleeves.

The velvet curtains of the stage started to close as she straightened herself. Eevie moved behind the curtains and after the curtains closed completely, the hall became deserted. The dream had come to an end…
