Electrify

Peter and I got out from the room and went to the runway. There was Natasha and a lanky looking man with her. Bruce Banner looked like an ordinary man when he was anything but ordinary. He looked confused and mildly irritated by the situation.

"Really, you want me to giant metal tube thousands of feet deep." He said sarcastically.

"Hello, Steve Rogers." Steve introduced himself. "The word is you can find the cube."

"Is that the only word about me?" Bruce said shaking Steve's hand.

"The only one I care about." Steve said and Bruce smiled a little.

"We should get inside, I gonna get harder to breath soon." Natasha said and the carrier began to lift from the sea.

"Oh, this is much worse." Bruce shook his head and headed inside.

I felt the carrier lift off and Agent looked at Fury and nodded.

"We're ready sir." She said and began to type something.

"Good, let's vanish." Fury said and a ground camera showed us that the ship had vanished.

The hologram gave a bit more detail and showed the retro reflective plates on the carrier being activated. In a weird turn of events, fury accepted a 10 dollar bill from Steve and looked at it before sighing and keeping it. Steve sat down and looked at the people.

"Dr. Banner thank you for joining us." Steve said.

"Thank you for asking nicely." Banner replied. He looked at fury and asked. "How long am I staying?"

"once we have the tesseract, you are in the clear." Fury replied.

"And where are we with that."

"We are combing through all wirelessly accessible. If it is connected to a satellite, it is eyes and ears for us." Colson replied.

"Sound like a major privacy invasion." Peter said.

"We don't have time to consider that because despite this we won't be able to find them in time." Natasha added.

"We need to narrow the field. How many spectrometers do we have." Bruce asked and fury got into details.

Soon, Peter also joined in on the conversation and they ironed out the details. I approached Steve who was looking lost.

"Hey, man. How are you holding up." I asked him.

He looked up from the tablet and smiled. It was a tired smile.

"I don't know. It could be worse, I suppose." He said.

"Are you at least up to date on the guns because we will be needing those soon." I chuckled.

"Not really. I was never a fan of them anyway." He said.

"Well, we are fighting against an alien threat, so follow me. We need to get you a gun." I said and we headed to the armory.

I introduced him to a few hand guns and a lot of assault rifles. He kept asking how they could hold out against the current threat and other old people questions. Finally, I handed him a AR15 and told him to shoot a target. He was hesitant at first but soon got into firing the thing like a champion marksman. The carrier lacked a moving target so I improvised and acted like a target. At first, Steve looked at me like I was crazy but sighed and shot me when I showed him I could literally catch bullets after they were fired. Although, he wasn't able to him me because I always moved out of the way, he got pretty close a few times. We stopped after an hour and headed back to the bridge.

There were schematics of a German museum on the screen and Loki picture in the still frame of another.

"What is at the museum worth stealing?" I asked to Fury.

"Nothing. Just a bunch of common metals." He replied.

"I will go." I said and headed to the hangar.

Natasha, Peter and Steve followed. We took a quin jet string to the museum. The flight was silent except for the Peter's fidgeting Natasha raised an eyebrow at him.

"Hey, I never went to Germany." He said and folded his hands on his c.h.e.s.t.

Natasha and I shook our heads. We got near the museum and saw Loki standing over a bunch of tourist while pointing his scepter at an old dude. Steve immediately jumped down and landed in front of the man and used his shield to block the beam. Peter landed on a light post while I landed behind Loki.

"You know, last time I was in Germany and found a man standing over some people, we ended up disagreeing." Steve said as he adjusted his shield.

"The soldier, the man out of time." Loki said as he pointed his scepter at Steve.

"No, I am not." He replied and pointed at the jet.

"Lower the weapon and stand down." Natasha said and aimed the guns at the God.

I saw the scepter glow and sped my self up. I ran up to Loki and swiped him off his legs. While, he was falling down I dropped my heel on his face and drove him to the ground. I pried the scepter from his hands and stepped away. The ground cracked from the force and Peter immediately webbed up the god.

"Should have stood down man." Peter said and jumped down.

I saw an moment in the web before it was cut apart. Loki stood up and took out two dagger from literally out of nowhere. I suddenly felt a poke in my back and immediately moved out of the way. Loki's eyes were widening slowly. I sighed and did the same maneuver gain, only this time his face was towards the ground. I slowed my self down to see another crack in the ground where his face should have been. This time, Loki did not wait to get up. I felt his energy travelling fast to wards captain and behind him. I sped and ran at the bastard again but this time he turned visible before he stabbed. I was about to reach him when I saw to muon beam hit him, throwing him backwards. I looked up at the source and saw Ironman flying at us. He landed in front of loki.

"Your move reindeer games." Tony said and more and more weapons were aimed at Loki.

He glared at me and raised his arms.

"Good move." Tony said as Loki went to his knees.

Steve came up beside and nodded at Tony.

"Mr. Stark"

"Captain"

They both stared at Loki before cuffing him up and taking him into the plane. We then headed to the carrier. We were all staring at Loki, until he flinched at the sound of thunder.

"Afraid of a bit of lightning." Captain said and I chuckled.

"I am not fond of what follows." He said and looked at the doors.

Tony smirked and opened the doors, he was about to say some thing when another huge dude with a hammer showed up. I was still unbuckling the belt, when he simply grabbed Loki and jumped out. Tony fired up his suit when Steve stopped him.

"We need to get Loki back, dead or whatever, we will never find the cube otherwise." Tony said

"We need a plan of attack."

"I have a plan, attack." He said and flew away.

I sighed an went after him. We flew for a few seconds before Tony literally tackled him away from Loki. Tony got in a few punches before thor caught his hand and began to crush it. I sped up and repeatedly punched him until he let go of Starks hand and kicked him away.

"Put down the hammer, you are out manned." Stark said and pointed his repulsors at Thor.

"You little." Thor yelled out and pointed the hammer to the sky and a few hundred lightning bolts fell on it.

He then pointed it at Stark and fired the lightning. I smiled and directed the lightning at myself absorbing it. Whoa, if normal lightning was like plain water, this was the OG red bull. I saw his astonished look and before I could say anything he f.u.c.k.i.n.g threw his hammer at me. I tried to catch it but the damn thing wouldn't budge from the air. I sighed and robbed the hammer of any residual current and saw stark firing beams at the man. Thor dodged then and put his had up. The f.u.c.k.i.n.g hammer flew back into his hand and speed greater than me. He threw it at Tony but it hit the shield in the air and bounced away. Thor called it back and looked at Steve.

"Stop. Tell us why you are here?" Steve yelled out.

"To put an end to Loki's schemes." He said.

"Then prove it. Put the hammer down."

Thor yelled out and jumped high in the air. "you want me to put the hammer down."

He smashed it against the Shield, I absorbed whatever lightning I could but the blast wave still threw me off a couple of feet. We all stood up and looked at each other.

"Are we done here?" Steve said both Thor and Tony nodded.

We boarded the jet again and flew straight to the carrier.

"You there. How did you control the lightning." Thor said as he pointed at me with his hammer.

"Mutant or experiment." Tony said.

"Mutant. I have the ability to control Lightning." I said as I sat down.

Thor threw another bolt of lightning at me and I absorbed it.

"Does the suit absorb lightning?" Tony asked and I shook my head.

"Well, mutant. Looks like you and I have something in common." Thor smiled.

"Don't attack someone just to test them." Steve admonished Thor.

"I merely wished to see how he does it. And he was controlled far powerful strikes." Thor said as he put the hammer on a nearby table.

I on the other hand was completely relaxed. I felt Thor's roam around inside my body, it was a bit like getting massaged from the inside. I sighed and enjoyed the feeling till my body absorbed that bit of godly energy.

We reached the heli carrier and Fury showed Loki the inside on an unbreakable room which not saying much since, I hear Magneto broke out of these. I sighed and held the wall for leverage. It lightning was having an effect on my biology and I was getting difficult to stand now. Peter noticed this and got closer.

"You okay man." He asked.

"What's wrong with him." Steve asked.

"Don't know. Did he do something weird, when you guys were fighting."

"Yes, he absorbed some of my lightning." Thor answered.

"Yeah, do that again and don't stop till I give you a signal." I said and Peter punched me in the gut.

"Are you crazy. We talked about this." He yelled out.

"look man I am going to pass out either way. It would be faster is there was a greater amount of energy to work with." I said and felt my legs give out.

Peter sighed and nodded. I held my fist up and looked at Thor.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked and I nodded.

He pointed his hammer at me and fired. I absorbed the electricity as it came. Soon, the world fell to silence and I was feeling a bit hot. It wait till the last second before I gave away to pain and waited a bit longer. I saw Thor sweating a bit before I released my fist. The lightning stopped and Peter caught me.

"That wasn't so bad." I said as Stark entered the room and began cursing out at thor.

I closed my eyes and fell unconscious. Even though, I was unconscious, I felt the godly lightning still coursing through my system. I felt as if ants were biting everywhere and the feeling grew till it felt like I was getting stung by bees everywhere. I opened my eyes and saw an immense cloud of lightning, it was all consuming. It looked like a fluff of wool but every strand was made out of lightning. I touched it and I felt a gentle pull. I let my self be pulled into it.

"Maxwell Dillon, you are not from the dimension you reside in. Yet, you treat it better than your counterparts in other dimensions." An ethereal voice sounded through the space. "I see, what happened, what you have accomplished. I see no reason not to grant you my powers."

"I am not even…"

"Maxwell? There is only one Maxwell in your dimension and it is you. You have risen time and time again to do good." I felt a power grip my soul itself. "Remember Maxwell. I have granted you the cosmic lightning, others may draw upon it, yet you are its true wielder. Earn it and make it yours." The voice said and I felt myself slam back into my body.

I woke up gasping for air, there were alarms blaring on the ship and people were running around in panic. I got up and made my way to the bridge. There were signs of explosions, a few arrows here and there along with some webbing. Maria came and ordered everyone to run maintenance and repair. She glanced at me and raised her hand to her ear.

"Electro is back up." She said and hurried away. I went to a terminal and looked at the footage of what transpired. They got into a fight, an engine blew up, hulk and thor duked it out and destroyed 10% of the carrier, we got Barton back, Thor was sent flying in the Hulk cage while Loki escaped. Now, everyone was at the cage room looking a very dead Colson. Damn, that was a punch in the gut no one needed.

Soon, the main gang came back on the bridge and looked at me. Tony and Steve took as seat while Peter came close and hugged me. Peter and Colson were kind of close because he was the one that recruited him and gave him advice all the time. We separated and took a seat as well. They sat with sad looks and frowns on their faces. Fury came in and looked at everyone.

"We are flying blind. No navigation. No leads. We lost the scepter. Banner and Thor are god know where. I got nothing." Fury said and pulled out a set of cards covered in blood. "He had these on him. He wanted to get them signed." Fury threw the cards on the table.

"Yes, I was making weapons but I never put all my eggs in that basket. I was playing something bigger. There was an idea, that a few remarkable people would come together and work as a team. To do what we never could. The idea was called the avenger initiative, Stark knows of this. Colson died believing in that idea." Stark got up and moved away from the table.

"was he married?" Steve asked

"No he was a cailist, I think." Tony replied.

"He was a good man." Steve said.

"He was stupid." Tony sighed.

"He was doing his job." Steve said.

"He should not have been there alone." Tony yelled in frustration.

"Sometime there is no choice." Steve yelled back.

"He was an agent. Putting yourself at risk is always the case. In fact, the moment we get the badge we will likely be killed before we can return it." I said.

"We are not some kamikaze soldiers." Tony yelled out.

"Speak for yourself. I am here in this suit with a badge on for a reason. That is to protect. Form the shadows, and from the light." I said and pulled off my helmet.

Their eyes widened in surprise and they looked at me and Fury. Then they doubled down on Fury.

"Before this gets ugly, he was in the suit before I found him." Fury said sitting down.

"The brashness and the jokes." Steve looked at Peter. "He is a kid too."

"they should not be here." Tony said and looked at us.

"Mr. Stark, we are here by choice and even though I am big fan, I will continue without your permission." Peter said in his voice before turning the modulator back on.

"And what were we supposed to do. At least, this way I have a sort of net to fall back on if I ever screw up." I said. "You 2 need to get your head straight, there is your friend's killer out there with no human rights applicable to him. I say we find him and beat his a.s.s till this goes away."

"That is an idea." Tony said and sat down.

"I still don't agree to you 2 being here." Steve said as he sat down as well.

"we know that he is a big diva. A drama queen if you will." Tony said.

"We caught his act in Germany." Steve replied.

"That was just a trailer, he want poster, the red carpet, his name on the sky." Tony continues on his rant.

As soon as he went on this thought train, Fury, Peter and I realized that Loki would definitely would go after something similar, Tony's tower. He realized that as soon as we did and stood and slammed his fist on the table.

"That bastard. He will go after my building." Tony yelled out.

"Can your suit make it?" Steve asked.

"It damn sure will." He grinned and went to his work bay.

Fury arranged the hangar Bay to be cleared out to get a working quin jet in the sky. Peter and I looked at each other and sighed. He slapped the back of my head and I sighed, putting my helmet back on. Tony and I flew ahead and reached his tower in an hour. We separated, and I headed to the bottom and he went to the top floors. The basic plan was to sweep through each floor and meet in the middle. I went to the bottom and found a bunch of people injured and unconscious. I began to help them and move them to a more accessible spot for the Para medics to get to them. I was about to move to a different floor but a boom caused me to looked to towards the window. I sighed and pulled out the head piece I had. It was electrocuted beyond repair. I grumbled and broke the window to fly up. I saw a beam coming from somewhere on the building and I spotted selvig running for cover. I approached the device and tried to touch it but the there was an energy field around it. Only the beam was touchable but the way it shredded my lightning and how I could not absorb the energy told me that physically blocking it would be impossible.

I saw the worm hole grow to a formidable size and many creatures fell out along with what appeared to be a flat flying huge snake.

"Holy, shit." I gasped.
