Chapter 40 - 40 - The recruitment camp (1).

3 hours later.

'Huff...Huff…'

Bilal gasped for air heavily as he stood taking the support of a nearby gigantic tree, his hands shook in anticipation as tried observing the distant structures.

Gazing at it he pondered whether this kind of gigantic tree was present back on Earth because they appeared to be quite large, but as he wasn't a Botanist or someone along those lines he wasn't able to affirm the truth.

Bilal had been walking straight north for 3 hours already, following the directions given by that Glowing Skeleton along with some help from the System's Minimap, he was able to remain on a straight-line path and refrained from diverging into some other path.

According to the System he already had walked over 21 Kilometers, it was far, far away from the twin mountains. The unsurmountable mountains appeared small and tiny from there.

Speaking of the Skeleton, quite many things came to his mind, which he had to ask the Skeleton and essentially had to inquire him about that Black Jar's entity who resides in his body now and had appeared on two moments already, but letting alone getting these questions answered, Bilal wasn't even able to get the name.

Shaking his head and dispelling these useless thoughts, he came to know his body's condition while rubbing the aching parts of his body to somewhat relieve the pain.

In the first few minutes of his journey he felt like Hercules very brimming with energy and adding it with a consistent replenishment in the stamina he didn't bother saving it, but his incorrect judgment exhausted his stamina by an enormous amount, since leaving him empty and dry.

'Hope, it's not just corpses this time as well' Bilal prayed laid there for some moments taking his well-deserved rest.

Within his hours of walk he had already encountered distant buildings two times already, both the times he anticipated It as the Olga Federation camp but instead, they turned out to be Massacred villages filled with corpses everywhere, the scene wasn't even a bit nice to look at, bodies upon bodies could be seen stacked into layers, many of those bodies were without heads, the spectacle was especially gore and horrible.

Many trails of blood could also be seen on the ground, but they didn't let him anywhere since they ended near the village's perimeters.

Taking a good look, Bilal to find that not even the Elderly, Women and Children were spared. On every other corpse's neck, pierce and slash marks could be seen probably killed in a flurried frenzy since the slashes didn't seem uniform on every corpse. And accompanying those corpses were their houses, they've been made to accompany their owners till the end.

And if going according to the Skeleton, Bilal was the cause for their deaths even if he didn't do all this, their deaths made him frightened of his supposed enemies 'The Empire' and 'The Sacred Lands' stated by that Glowing Skeleton.

This act of avid hatred couldn't be comprehended by his definitions at all whenever he thinks about it, he wouldn't help but get frustrated and frown nonetheless what else could he do about it. The only plausible choice left for him was to approach a quiet and peaceful place which would in turn would procure him with a safe environment for consuming that Multi-coloured Orb.

These observations led him to heed the instructions given by the Skeleton carefully even more!, so he took off those clothes from 'Earth' and threw them inside those burning houses to destroy all clues.

He became somewhat glad of his decision to wear the Hide clothes inside the Protective clothes else he'd have to wear the plain white clothes, at first sight, both appeared same thickness wise, but he couldn't be more wrong, the Hide clothes that he acquired from the Wooden Hut were extraordinarily sturdy so much that even his Refurbished Shamshir saber couldn't pierce or tear it in the slightest.

The random objects which he just wore turned out to be a treasure.

Adding it along with leather armor and plain white robes that he stole from those villages, he raised his defenses abnormally high and probably better than before.

His basic Human intellect attracted him towards some kind established forms of civilization because Humans are social animals and they tend to live in groups eventually fabricating huge gatherings called as villages and cities or even countries.

And without the necessary nutrients, his body would become measly weak and lose strength which he definitely didn't want to happen especially in this strange World.

Taking a few more steps ahead, few archaic styled houses of cobblestone and wood came to his sight, not far from there, Bilal could observe the premises clearly, the fences surrounding them had no blood stains or broken parts to be seen.

Moments later, Bilal came closer to the fence seeing no other entrance he tried jumping off it.

"Stop right there…" A muffled voice came from behind.

Before he could turn his head to take a look, a sharp sensation was pressed onto his spine, as if knowing the meaning of that sharp sensation and sensing the danger he didn't dare try turning around once again and stood still.

"Who are you to trespass here, don't you know this is the territory of Olga Federation?" The voice befell yet again.

"I'm a local tribal, here to seek refuge and enlist in the recruitment" Bilal stated scaredly and portrayed himself as a frightened individual.

And quickly he threw up the made-up lies he created on his way analysing the situation and utilizing the limited information available to him.

"A deserter, huh? This is not the front entrance, go along the fences and you'll find the front entrance, don't try jumping off it and Tomorrow starts the recruitment trials till then stay inside the camp don't come out"

The sharp sensation suddenly vanished from the spine along with the presence of that voice, immediately turning around he found nothing hit empty air, as if the person behind him was never there.

Firing his gazes everywhere, Bilal tried finding that person and quite unsurprisingly he wasn't able to find that person.

'Must be a guard or something, just quite overpowered' Bilal muttered and went ahead with the fences, looking here and there warily.

Luckily no one obstructed his path again and he managed to reach the front entrance, it was a stone-henged gate with some burnt torches situated on both sides.

Even though he arrived there at last, no relief could be seen on Bilal's face instead a look of confusion gloomed over, the recruitment camp which he thought to be a bustling place was nowhere to be seen, other than silence no sound could be heard, the place appeared to be deserted.

Just as he was about to turn around and leave this worthless place, he speculated something and outstretched his hand inside the gate.

And surely his wits didn't go to waste, the outstretched hand's palm quickly submerged into the entrance and disappeared after hitting into an invisible thin wall.

"As expected" Bilal stated confidently and drove himself into that strange entrance.

The scene was somewhat similar from the Dual mountains, when hit by that Silver Blast it revealed the houses which weren't there before, it was probably a type of Illusion.

A thin wall collided with his body suddenly pulling him inside, landing on both the legs he collected himself and fared his gaze around.

Just passing that gate somehow changed the entire scene, the deserted village suddenly transformed into a crowded marketplace, there were hundreds of people inside, they clamored the whole place with noise and filled the premises with their presence.

Men, women, children and elderly alike filled the place, many had bloodstains on their clothes and looked haggard while some clutched their legs and sat in a corner against the cobblestone House's walls, the atmosphere seemed gloomy and disheartening, clear sadness could be felt from their eyes.

The main entrance of the camp resembled a busy market day, labourers were seen lifting and moving heavy objects on their shoulders, while traders were shouting out high to attract customers, withlist many could be seen conversing with the stall owners probably bargaining.

Too engrossed in their own work they didn't notice his arrival and while those who did just spared a glance at him and resumed their work.

Just adjacent to the gate a small line of people could be seen moving towards a bench where an Old man sat and appeared to be asking something and handing out wooden pieces, he was different from others as he was adorned in a Bright Blue outfit resembling a soldier's uniform.

Having no idea of the situation, Bilal too joined the line and soon his turn came.

"Worker or Soldier??" The old man asked.
