Endless Adventure

Chapter 15 - First Stage.

It was him. It was him. It was him. He was a short, fat man with tan skin, brown hair, a large nose, and thick eyebrows. He wore a large, blue v-neck shirt, with a white symbol resembling a lowercase "i" on its right side, over a matching pair of light, blue-grey sweats. He also carried a satchel. It was him. The "Rookie Crusher". From all of the people I never wanted to meet he is the number one champion because when I see his face I just can't control my wrath. He was the type of person that I hate the most. The ones that can't do shit and just find excuses for their failures like "I never wanted to be a Hunter".

He came before me and asked, "Is this your first time taking Hunter exam?"

I just ignored him and kept walking to the forest. Just keep walking. Just keep walking.

But he did not let me. He again ran up to me and said in a innocent and warm tone, "My name is Tonpa, and I'm kinda a veteran here. If you have any problems during the test just ask help from me. I have participated in more than 30 Exams."

I looked at him and released my bloodl.u.s.t. Experiencing it he was so scared that he almost peed himself. Just after I released my bloodl.u.s.t I felt a gaze land on my body. 'Such a scary presence' I thought and then looked at the particular person who was leaning on the tree. Our gazes met and I was sheathing my blade, when I heard someone said' "This is everyone 431 participants gathered here, now let's start the exam."

The one that yelled that was a muscular middle aged man who wore a fur of a ferocious wolf. He had a big beard and long spiky hair.

He looked at the everyone and yelled, "I'll say this once so hear it clearly. First stage of the exam would be held here on Big garden island. You just have to score more than 100 points to advance for the second round. How would you earn points you say? This island is full with many beasts and to earn points you have to hunt them. One living creature is worth one point. You just have to hunt 100 of them. To pass. Now go and hunt." There was a silence at first but almost everyone except the few started to frantically run to the forest to hunt.

When I heard what he said I didn't just start to run but started to observe. There were 431 participants in this exam and we have to hunt for 100 living creatures. This would mean that there were 43100 beasts in this island. But considering the size of the island it doesn't look like this island has enough prey for everyone to pass. So many people would think this is fight against the time. Who would score 100 points first.

I looked at the ocean and asked the examiner, "Can we hunt the creatures that live in ocean? Do they cost any points?"

He looked at me and answered, "Any living creature be it in the water or in island costs one point."

I looked at him and asked again, "How many points I can get if I hunt the human."

He looked at me and answered in the same tone as the last one, "Any living creature costs one point."

So this is what they want. When the beasts in the island end up being hunted. The participants would start to hunt other participants.

I went next to ocean observed it and dived into it. There I saw nothing no living creature was living in the ocean. So there was no way to get points from the ocean life.

After I exited the water I started to look for the small insects like ants and bees who have many numbers. I searched everywhere but couldn't find anything. Just then a big muscular guy came back from the forest carrying many different animals.

He looked at the examiner and said, "I have hunted 100 living creatures as you said. What now?"

He looked at that big man and said, "If you hunted 100 animals you just need to hand it to me and you can pass."

Big guy was excited and with all the animals he killed he walked to the examiner. But before he could get near him I attacked him and with one punch to the stomach I feinted him.

I looked at the examiner and asked, " I hunted 101 living creatures what do I do with extra 1."

He calmly looked at me and answered, "You could still hand it to me and pass with 101 points."

I carried all my hunt and gave it to the examiner. Then I found a comfortable tree branch and closed my eyes."

Let's take a nap before the second stage starts.
