Endless Adventure

Chapter 30 - Desert Temple!

I still had time till the Greed Island Arc starts. That's why I wanted to explore the Hunter x Hunter world.

HunterxHunter world has 6 continents just like in Earth from my past life. But only two were named in the anime itself. One being Yorbian Continent and other being Azian Continent. Most of the story takes place in Yorbian Continent where Yorknew City is located. It's also the place where a severed body part of the Chimera Ant Queen was first found. The Yorbian continent is roughly similar in appearance to the North American continent of the Earth.

Azian is the other named Continent in an anime. Kakin Empire is located at the middle of Azian Continent. Gon and Killua visited Kakin using "Accompany" card from the game Greed Island. After you finish the game, you could take three cards from the game to the real world. They used "Accompany" card to transport them self's to person named "Nigg" who they thought was Gons father Ging. It was also the place where Phantom Troupe was expelled by Razor, after they tried to enter Greed Island unofficially.

I would like to travel to Yorbian Continent, most specifically Gordeau Desert. It is the place where battle between Phantom Troupe and Mafia takes place. After Phantom Troupe's first attack on the Mafia's Underground Auction, the Mafia community pursues and confronts them in Gordeau Desert. Uvogin slaughters the pursuers, including four of the 10 Shadow Beasts. As Kurapika captures Uvogin, Shizuku, Machi, Shalnark, Feitan(best boy), Nobunaga, and Franklin chase after him, but are stopped by the remaining Shadow Beasts. So Shizuku and Feitan(still best boy) finish off the remaining Shadow Beasts, while taking the Shadow Beast Owl as a prisoner. Gordeau Desert is also the place where Kurapika battled Uvogin and later buried him.

I wanted to visit Gordeau Desert for several reasons. Main reason being that it's quite close to Yorknew City where I have to join Greed Island game. Other reason being "Desert Temple" located there. It's one of the restricted areas which I have access to because of Hunter License. It was said that it's an ancient Temple where many Nen users trained in. It's a place of spiritual enlightenment.

Many years passed and slowly that place was forgotten by everyone. Desert Temple is now in ruins and hardly anyone visits that place. I booked a ticket for an airship. My destination was Lingon Airport which is an airport in the Yorknew City suburbs. When I arrived at Lingon Airport I took a taxi and went to Gordeau Desert.

As expected from a Desert it was covered in sand everywhere. When I looked around I remembered one quote which always makes me laugh. It says, "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere."

This ladies and gentlemen why making prequels to Star Wars was one of the worst decisions in Cinematic history.

I was quite far away from the desert Desert Temple so I started to walk. In two days I finally arrived at the ancient ruins. Before me stood once majestic Desert Temple. It is unclear why the Temple was left in ruins. One of the theories suggest that ancient Nen practitioner once sacrificed his own friends to get an ultimate power. He tried to steal life energies of all of his friends and become the strongest Nen user and rule the world. Interesting thing is that he almost succeeded. He sacrificed everyone in the Temple and using his Nen ability he absorbed their life energies. But ultimately he failed. His body couldn't contain so much power and he slowly became insane. Slowly his body turned into that of a monsters after absorbing so many life energies. After that many monsters started appearing near the Temple but they never left it. They always stayed in the vicinity of the Temple as if to protect something. Later those monsters were exterminated by the Hunters and investigation has taken place there. But hunters found nothing there.

Later even though monsters were exterminated, Temple became a restricted area as those who entered it could never leave.

I started exploring the Temple. The first thing that shook me was the sheer size of the Temple. It was gigantic. And most of it was already destroyed, less than 20% of the Temple that was left was already so big. Other thing that caught my interest was drawings on the walls. They depicted all the history of the Temple. From the time it was built to the time it was destroyed. If it was not restricted it would've been a great scenic tourist attraction site. To try my luck I conjured up "Stalker Ghosts". They were ideal for exploring the ruins. They could be summoned for long periods of time. They could travel between walls and sink deep underground as they were intangible. Most importantly I shared my sight with it.

I found a nice place to sit and controlled my "Stalker Ghosts" to explore the ruins. I searched for secret passages or deep underground bases. There has to be something as those monsters were clearly protecting something. I looked at everywhere in Desert Temple and found.........Nothing.
