The second characteristic was that in order to use the law of sins and virtues, one didn't need to understand the world but rather to understand oneself. Be it sin or virtue, every living being had them. By using this kind of law, one was essentially studying a part of their own personality.

Finally the third characteristic and the cause of all problems. The more loyal one was to one of those fourteen, the greater the boost in power and the larger the number of abilities. For example, the more slothful someone using [ACEDIA] was, the more powerful he would become, and said the user would even receive a great boost towards his defensive abilities and abilities to manipulate others' laws.

But this characteristic was also a trap of sort. If you opposed it, you'll weaken. A sloth shouldn't be running around all a time and someone with kindness shouldn't do an evil act.

This didn't seem much in the beginning, but as time passed that would generally cause the undoing of the user. After all, people with one mind track were easy to understand and use.

The best example was the saintess Jeanne d'Arc. She was a true monster who managed to learn all seven virtues, giving her a power level so high that even families leaders, apostles, and demon feared her.

She was night indestructible, fast as the lightning, able to heal thousands of people, would never tire and many more, in short, she was the very definition of the word badass.

But even someone as badass as her, in the end, was nothing more than a weapon that was used and later discarded by the very people she swore to protect. The worst was that she was so ingrained in her virtues that she didn't even try to retaliate. Right now, from what he knew, she was sealed somewhere in the catacombs of the Pendragon family.

Sol shocks his head. There was no need to think of people who had nothing to do with him. He had no relation with the Pendragon nor with Jeanne d'Arc.

He came back to his decision. His choice was divided between [INDUSTRIA] and [GULA]. Between the sin and virtues, they were the ones who could allow him to have enough energy to fight as long as he wanted. He truly needed energy, he had more energy reserves than most, but, it also means that it was far harder and time-consuming to replenish his reserves.

[INDUSTRIA] didn't give many abilities, but the user would have a body that would never give up as long as his will to continue stayed firm. For him who was a close combat fighter, it was a godsend. Sadly there are two problems. One, there is the "will". He knew himself, he was extremely far from diligence. Two, that would mean giving up in most non-physical abilities he had.

[GULA] was different. There were many abilities geared towards making his enemy suffer. What more one of the concepts of gluttony really attracted him. This concept was... [DEVOUR].

ENGLAND: NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Two men were walking in a forest with a shaking leg. They wore black armors, showing their rank of black knight from the Pendragon family.

To be honest, even though the white knights were known as the best unit, the black and white knights didn't have much difference in term of power, the minimum rank necessary to become one was Myth. The difference in power came mostly from their fighting experience. Some years ago, there were neither white knights or black knights, only golden knights.

The separation of this unit came from the friction between the two most important members of the family. Richard Pendragon, leader of the Black Knights and... Viviane Pendragon, leader of the white knights. She was also known as the [IMMORTAL BERSERKER].

The forest where the two black knights were treading right now was a previously cursed forest declared off-limits, until a few years ago when Viviane took a part of the golden knights now known as white knights and fought a bloody battle against most of the cursed Nightmares that were living in the forest. Nowadays, the Nottingham forest was basically her hunting ground.

Since that day, the white knights followed Viviane in different wars and battlegrounds, making their name known and feared to all as a group of lunatic across all plane. While the black knights stayed in the castle and became more known as cowards in the inner circles.

Still, despite the rift that existed between the two groups, the black knight accepted that the one to become the leader of the family should have been her. That why they generally asked her opinion when Richard acted without thinking. If she didn't exist, the Pendragon family might have fallen in this generation.

After a while, they reached a clearing. There, on what seemed like a boulder, sat a young girl so beautiful that she seemed like a fairy.

She had a regal air around her with her sparkling golden eyes that seemed to see through you, long, golden hair tied to both sides of her head, and a braid running down from the back of her head that flowed like water. She also wore a white headband around her forehead, a golden armor, a blue cape, white leather boots, and a short white skirt.

This scene was truly out of a fairy tale, at least it would have been. If she didn't hold a large heart in her hand while munching on it, if the boulder she sat on wasn't a boulder but in reality the decapitated head of a wyvern, if the clearing wasn't naturally made but the result of all the three and grass beings completely erased in a radius of one kilometer, if her white skirt and golden armor weren't stained by blood and grim.

In short, a truly awe-inspiring and frightening sight. Once again, they were reminded of how powerful she was now and why they were shaking so much before reaching her.

The two of them had served the family for hundreds of years in real-time. As they bowed in a show of respect, they remembered the scrawny little girl who couldn't even correctly lift a sword and was declared as unfit for fighting.

For some unknown reasons, she went from zero to hero in one shoot after going missing for few months. She showed the powers of many concepts and laws, the most notorious being [INDUSTRIA], [IRA], [SUPERBIA], and [HUMANITAS]. Even now, no one knew who taught her how to harness the power of sin and virtues. After all, they weren't like the constellationist who were innately close to some laws and could harness most of them even without being specially taught.

Of course, as they lived so long, they had their suspicions on who could have taught her so much. Those suspicions became even greater when she accepted the conditions imposed on her by the previous leader in exchange for a wish. But it didn't matter. No one could question her loyalty to the family.

She would never tire, the angrier she was, the most powerful she became, she could nullify basically all laws and all attack launched toward her and she could heal all wound on her and her knights. A true monster on the battlefields. The only reason she wasn't called [GODDESS OF WAR] was that only suicidal idiots would use the term "god" in their nickname.

Viviane, seeing the two guys rooted on the ground as they bowed toward her, cleaned the blood on her mouth with the back of her hand and threw the rest of the heart to one of the six white knights standing behind her. After a burp, she asked nonchalantly as she crossed her legs under her skirt in a very unladylike fashion.

"OK guys, what problems did my stupid older brother cause this time? "

The two black knights let a wry smile. They didn't know if they should complain about her lack of manners, her lack of respect toward the leader of the family or about the fact that she didn't even need them to speak a word before understanding the gist of why they were here.

After taking a breath to calm their hearts, they began to explain. At first, they spoke hurriedly, but the more they spoke, the slower and lighter their voices became. In the end, they simply closed their mouths. The princess was too scary.

They watched as a smile slowly formed on her face the more they spoke. They might not be her close aids, but they knew that this smile was all but friendly.

Finally, the smile transformed into a sneer when they finished. After that, she simply began to laugh out loud without care. Her laugh was so loud that it was nearly deafening, even the earth began to tremble a little. The cry of beasts still presents around immediately ceased.

All the knights knelt without hesitation. They didn't want to be the target of her wrath. She was kind, she had to be kind, but sometimes kindness to one was evil to another. For some reason, she seemed adept in using the sin and virtues without falling for the usual traps.

After a few seconds laughing, seconds that felt like an eternity for them. She finally stopped and looked quietly at the two with her golden eyes slit like that of a dragon. But for the black knights, this was even worse than her previous laugh.

They didn't dare to raise their heads. She may be always acting like a barbarian, but the feeling of inferiority they felt in front of her was so high that even if she acted even more uncouth they would still feel that they were the ones who should be ashamed. Finally, she opened her mouth

"You may rise"

A single sentence, but it was like heaven decrees itself. Their hearts could finally settle down. They escaped the most dangerous part.

"From what you said, it's already too late to stop my foolish brother. He already sent the red knights didn't he?"

"Yes your highness"

"What foolishness, what idiocy, truly, my brother never ceases to amaze me by showing that his stupidity is without limits. Pride without basis is nothing more than arrogance. "

After that, she jumped from the head of the wivern and after a light landing began to walk toward the two knights. Weirdly even during her fall, her skirt silently floated without showing anything below it. Not that they would have dared to watch if it showed anything. Once she reached them, she said in a low voice, a deadly serious glint in her eyes.

"It's the ninth time isn't it?"

She was shorter than them and had to raise her head to look at them. Despite that, they feel like she was looking down on them. They dutifully nodded their heads. Her golden eyes were truly sharp. They knew this wasn't a question. She didn't need any other answers than a yes.

"You understand that will happen once the twelfth happens. Right?"

Once again they nodded their heads. They exactly knew what would happen. Seeing them nod, a toothy grin appeared on her face.

"That why I love the foolishness of my brother so much."

She turned and faced her knights,

"OK guys, follow me to Ireland, we have a witch to meet."

She then turned back to the two and said clearly.

"You two, take this head and send it to my castle. If I don't see a soup made out of it once I came back, you'll regret it. "

After that without caring for the two of them anymore, she left the forest with great stride as she gently whistled a tune of unknown origin.

She couldn't help but be happy, she really hoped her brother would make many more mistakes. Just three more to go.

Once she left their perception, the two knights let a breath of relief. Being next to her was like facing a dragon. No, it was even worse. The feeling of being nothing more than an insect that could be stepped on at any moment was truly hard to bear.

They looked at each other with a bitter smile. Finally one of them spoke as he looked at the wyvern head.

"Do you think the old leader made a mistake when he made his choice?"

The second simply shook his head

"I am sure that the old master had his reason for imposing such conditions on her highness"

"I guess you're right."

"Of course I'm right. Rather than talking about that, how do you think we should cook this head?"

This question was truly an important one. They never wanted to be the target of her wrath.
