ENDLESS MYTH : Surpassing The Gods.

Chapter 29 - CH 9: THE MANTIS STALKS THE CICADA UNAWARE OF THE ORIOLE BEHIND(Part 1)

LITTLE PARADISE :

The moon was high, under it, on a hill, stood a young woman.

She was a beauty, she wore a long white, robe. Her white skin and long black hair made a perfect contrast with her robe. She had enchanting curves that immediately grabbed the attention.

Be it her larges b.r.e.a.s.t that seemed to hold the dreams of men or her perk bubble b.u.t.t that gave one the envy to give a slap to see how they juggled, she was simply perfect. Youth basically radiated from her.

This girl was holding a large rectangular mirror in her hand. The back of the mirror was covered in gold or something that looked like gold. There also many different kinds of runes marking.

"Mirror mirror, tell me, who is the most beautiful?"

"Your mother"

"F.u.c.k.i.n.g mirror ..."

She immediately threw it hard against the ground. Sadly, as the girl already knew, between the mirror and the earth, it was the mirror that was harder. The earth cracked a little around the area where the mirror crashed.

As if it was alive, the mirror began to slowly levitate before standing at the level of the face of the girl. A different image was shown. It was the image of a little girl. She looked like a fairy, she even had the height of a fairy. The fairy in the mirror was simply pulling her tongue out without care.

Natalie gritted her teeth in frustration. This f.u.c.k.i.n.g spirit was taunting her. All mythical weapons had a spirit inside it. After all, how could they choose a master if they didn't already have some sentience?

She let a sigh knowing that she failed and simply let it go. A radiant smile appeared on her face as she said,

"Dia, Could you connect me with mother?"

The spirit inside looked at her with disdain before humphing and slowly fading out. Natalie had to give her all to keep her smile, even though it already looked a little cramped.

After the weapons spirit completed faded away, rather than the black-haired beauty that should have been reflected, the image shown was that of a golden-haired woman.

This beauty thought wasn't just a woman, but a woman full of charm. She had long golden hair and a body that could even make a monk forsake Budha without even having the time to say "Amitaba". The only regret was that her face was covered by a veil, but even that gave her an air of mystery and regality. The woman in the mirror began to speak.

"Dear daughter, how many time did I tell you to stop trying to steal my mirror? "

Natalie didn't blush in the slightest at the accusations, she knew that her mother wasn't mad at her.

"It's not stealing if the mirror accepts me"

The woman simply smiled at those shameless words. She was very proud of her daughter. One should stop at nothing to reach their goals. Even though her means were very cute and far from harmful. If only the big sister was as cute as the little one. Still she had to keep a composed way of speaking and couldn't show to much affection.

The Mirror wasn't Natalie's conceptual weapon, but a true mythical weapon. This weapon was once the mirror of the goddess of beauty and s.e.x.u.a.l love, Aphrodite.

Like all mythical weapons, it could choose is user, and the only requirement to become the new user was to be more beautiful than the previous one.

Aphrodite had two myths about her. In some myths, Aphrodite was born from the white foam produced by the severed genitals of Ouranos, after his son Chronos threw them into the sea. Aphrodite was, in fact, widely worshipped as a goddess of the sea and of seafaring; she was also honored as a goddess of war, especially at Sparta, Thebes, Cyprus, and other places.

In other myths, she was simply the daughter of Zeus and Dione, his consort at Dodona.

Aphrodite, despite her questionable personality, was a powerful good. Her mirror was no less powerful. It could reflect all truth and dispel all illusion. This didn't seem much, but for those who knew the truth of the world, it was a terrifying weapon if used by someone powerful enough.

Natalie was looking at her mother with eyes blazing of respect and admiration. She was the ideal woman in her eyes. Her dreams was to surpass her mother in all fields. Beauty beings only one of them.

Her mother was named Venus. Like Artemis, she was blessed by a goddess. In fact, the name of a god could only be given to those who were blessed by said god. If someone dared to go against this rule...well, some words didn't need to be said.

Venus looked at her daughter, she could see the glint in her eyes. Hidden behind her veil, she let a smile. The reason was she wasn't afraid to let the mirror in her hands was simply that no one could be more beautiful than her apart from a goddess of beauty at the same level as Aphrodite.

That why she always hides her face behind a veil. Anyone seeing her face would directly fall in love with her, they would fight and die just for a smile from her. Even her daughters weren't an exception. This was part of her blessing and her curse.

She decided to take the discussion back to its proper course.

"So, why did you call me?"

Natalie, seeing that her mother was serious, answered calmly.

"The operation seems to have diverged. It's the wrong fish who bit the bait"

Venus, hearing this simply said.

"Don't worry, there no way the wrong fish bit the bait. It's simply that the big fish is smarter and sent a little fish to probe the situation first"

Natalie was a little surprised

"Small fish... are the two workings together?"

Venus began to laugh. Natalie, hearing her laugh began to blush. It was like this laugh was the most beautiful sound in the world. Simply hearing it could make one wish that it never stops.

Venus, seeing this, simply stopped laughing. Despite all the seal she put on her, her [CHARM] was simply too powerful. She sighed. Those gods were real bastards. What the use of a blessing if one couldn't even laugh with those dear to them.

"The two fish aren't working together. The first doesn't even know that he is being used."

Natalie gritted her teeth in frustration at her previous reaction. But since her mother acted like nothing happened, she decided to do the same.

"Alright. So what should I do?"

"Nothing changes. You must be close to him at the most critical moment and give your service."

"He doesn't seem to be dimwitted. Wouldn't he see that something is fishy?"

"So what? That why you must act at the right time. Sometimes one must drink even if he knows that it's a poison."

"Ok, I understand."

"I hope so. After all, he is your..."

Her words were drowned in the wind. Natalie didn't seem surprised hearing this. She simply nodded her head and cut the connection.

After looking at her reflection on the mirror for a while with a troubled expression, she took a deep breath and let her silly smile appear on her face. People always underestimated those they thought were too stupid.

-----

SOMEWHERE IN ITALY :

A veiled woman let a sigh as she looked at the mirror in front of her. After relaxing her neck, she said in a tired voice.

"It's done. You were right, they really dared to use Richard to test the water, and with that, Viviane would owe us a debt."

She was in a rather beautiful bedroom. This bedroom was the kind only king and queen of could use. It's was made following a French style of decoration.

"I told you so. I never make... No, I rarely make mistakes."

The one who answered with a smile was a man that was seated on the queen-sized bed that was in the room. He had spiked red hair red eyes that gave him a particularly Savage look. The kind that attracted women.

He was partially n.a.k.e.d as he only wore a pair of shorts. On his b.a.r.e c.h.e.s.t, multiple scars could be seen. They were scars made it seem like his upper body had been once completely burned. They were ugly scars, but for the woman, those scars could never hide the inner beauty of the man in front of her.

She stood up and she began to walk toward him. She had a perfect golden ratio, enough to think that the golden ratio originated from her. Her clothes were in large part black and red, they exposed most of her stomach and b.r.e.a.s.ts. It was a very sensual dress.

When she finally reached the man, she took off her veil. No words could describe her beauty. Her silver eyes seemed to suck the soul out of anyone who would dare to look at her in the eyes. Anyone who saw her face, be it, man or woman, even animals would prostrate and worship the very ground she walked.

Anyone... Expect him. The only one who could look at her face without danger. She let a smile. This wasn't a sensual smile. But one full of love. She loved this man. He was the only one who could allow her to act as she wished.

In front of him, she wasn't a demi-god ranked being. She wasn't the leader of one of the most powerful families. She wasn't someone whose beauty could literally hide the sun if she wished. She was just a simple woman.

She began to giggle, as she pounced on the man and cradled herself in his powerful arms. The kind of giggle that only little girls in love could let. If Natalie were to see this scene, she would most likely have a mental breakdown.

"Of course you were right. How could you be wrong? You're the [PERFECT ONE] aren't you?"

Minos let a bitter chuckle at the mention of this nickname. He really hated those Nickname. Only a chunbyo would have such time to waste. Still, they were useful for teasing others. He smiled as he looked down at the woman in his arms.

" Yes, it's exactly that, but I'm inferior to you. [ULTIMATE ONE]"

Venus let a haughty smile when she heard this.

"This isn't my fault if I'm so beautiful isn't it?"

Minos simply answered with a chop on her head. She was the weakest of all demi-god he ever knew, but she was also the most frightening. Since she came into power, her family had the greatest resources and territory between all the nobles families. She was the ultime weapon, the [ULTIMATE ONE]. A smile from her could literally start a war or end one.

"It's hurt"

This grown woman acted like a child as she held her head in her hands. Minos simply smiled and said

"Stop acting. Last time you showed off by containing a nuclear explosion barehanded without a scratch. How could this chop hurt you?"

"It's not my fault, those guy from NEWGENE tried to bully me. I had to give them a lesson"

Venus only pulled out her tongue and stopped acting. She then began to sniff his body as she hugged him tightly, an intoxicated look on her face. She even took a lick sometimes.

Minos didn't stop her. He knew that she missed him. They couldn't see each other regularly. In fact, their relationship was even a secret.

Relationsh.i.p.s between normal members of different nobles families weren't a problem. But when it was the two leaders, this became a thorny problem.

After Venus had her fill with his body odor with a last deep breath. She stopped acting like a little girl in love and took a distance from him. Her expression was incredibly serious.

"Your plans are all soon coming to fruition. What do you think?"

"Nothing much. Only when everything is over will I be happy. What happening on the island is only the first plan of my plan."

Venus frowned a little. She was in love, but she wasn't a dimwit who would simply nod because her man spoke.

"This first part is already very risked. You're manipulating many forces at the same time. Do you have a way to cope if you fail?"

"If I fail... Yes, I took failure into account. Don't worry"

"How could I not worry? No matter whether you fail or succeed, the first part of your plan will already make you an enemy to many people"

Minos let a sneer of derision

"Those guys can never harm me in the slightest. Let them come if they dare"

"Even Sol and Helen?"

This sneer was frozen. It would have been almost comical if the situation wasn't so serious. Venus let a sad smile

"Seeing your reaction, seem like you understand that after that you'll be greatly hated by them"

"It doesn't matter"

"They will never be in contact with you"

"It doesn't matter"

"They most likely will try to kill you"

"I. Said. IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!"

Venus didn't even flinch and still had this sad smile as she looked at him. This brought him more shame than any words of rebuke.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have screamed at you."

He let a sigh as he swept his hair with his right hand.

"The very moment I put this plan in operation, I knew that I may lose my family. But I'm sure that they will understand sooner or later. Everything I'm doing is for us",

Venus let looked at the man who stood at the peak of this world with a little pity. At the same time, she had a little bit of envy in her heart. If it was for her, would he have deployed the same resources and took the same risk?

She didn't dare to voice this question. When the three of them were together, she always felt that she was a nuisance. Even now, she still knew that her place in his heart didn't even amount to half of what he dedicated to "her".

Still, it didn't matter. All those years ago, she knew what she signing for. She had no regrets. Her whole life would be dedicated to him and she would die for him. She let a chuckle as she thought it must be how those who saw her face may feel.

After calming himself with some self-assurance. He gave Venus a deep kiss before laying her on the bed and getting up. Any other day he would have been in the mood for some naughty things, but today he couldn't.

Venus, understanding this, didn't try to seduce him. She also got up from the bed and began to dress in a more appropriate way.

After the two dressed, Minos took her hand. Suddenly he let a low chuckle. Venus turned an intrigued glance toward him.

"No. I just remembered a Chinese quote that I always liked. I just think that it completely describes the actual situation"

"Oh, what is this quote?"

"The first part of this quote said, The mantis stalks the cicadas, unaware of the Oriol behind",

After that, hands in hands, the two immediately vanished from the room.
