ENDLESS MYTH : Surpassing The Gods.

Chapter 4 - Ch 2 Part 3 :

Earlier in the days

Sol entered the room pointed by Nicole. Some peoples were already present. Some were in groups while others stood by themselves. You could feel a palpable tension in the air. In here everybody was enemies. After all while sol didn't particularly care about the school, for those outsides of the nobles' families, entering this school was the equivalent to be set for lives.

Not only did the school teach much important knowledge about the use of the blessings, but they also have course taught in any high-school. All those who graduate would automatically receive a recommendation for the job of their choices no matter if it's on the mundane side or the reverse side.

After all, even blessed don't necessarily want to fight every day. In fact, very few blessed choose to dedicate their lives to fighting. Of course, they must learn the base in order to at least be able to defend themselves in case of danger but, after that, they will live like any normal human. Sadly it's far harder for a blessed than for a normal to gain a job.

While he was observing peoples and thinking about the hardsh.i.p.s of job hunting, other people were also observed him. His handsome look was one reason for the look but the other and most important one was the golden ring on his right annular. This ring was something only nobles had the right to wear. All the other present in this room also had rung, but only those from the nobles were golden. Those rings while seemingly simple were, in fact, a sort of ID. Each ring was tailored made for it wearers and different type of ring gave different perks.

After some seconds of silence, the stare stopped for the most part. After all, while seeing a noble was rare, there were already three others present in the room. They were very hard to miss. Even though they were nestled within the crowds, they still attracted other people's attention. It was as if they carried a unique vibe that allowed them to be identified easily, even amongst the crowd.

The trio comprised of a male and two females. The male was a muscled youth with a chilly look in his eyes. There was a scar on his face, and a black bandage on his right hand, with waves of red auras emerging continuously from the bandage. As the aura surrounded him, it made the youth appear even more prideful and vicious, his rebelliousness accentuated.

The first female was exactly the opposite of the male. She was extremely beautiful, elegant, and pure, like a white lotus flower. She was dressed in a long white skirt, her beauty extremely pure. However, for those who knew her, she was definitely not a weakling.

The last one was without a doubt a huntress. She wore beautiful green clothing, clad in verdant green with her cold, sharp eyes containing a beastly glint. Her hair was stretched out long and unkempt, and it is completely lacking in the silkiness that would be found amongst those of noble birth. As one who can be called a beautiful beast in human form, it befits her appearance.

From here, he felt not just pride, but a certain feeling of danger. He couldn't look down on the other two either. Nobles were known as the kings of the constellationists, not because of some superior blood but because the power they wielded was truly incomparable. It's wasn't unheard of some powerful non-noble coming in power, but those were the exceptions. On average a properly trained noble could beat ten or more constellationists of the same rank. So even though he was sure that he was stronger than them, he would never look down on them.

After a minute of tense silence, footsteps could be heard. A door suddenly appeared out of nowhere and after opening, a group of nine men and women entered the room. The eyes of Sol hardened. He couldn't recognize any of them, but the level of power coming out from them was something he only felt when facing some of the elders in his family. He shuddered as he thought that he should seriously review his opinion of the school. It seems like his sister was right and that he underestimated the power of this school.

The nine didn't stand in the same line. Eight of them were half step behind the ninth one in the center. Sol had to rub his eyes to be sure that he wasn't seeing things. One of the centers was a girl. More precisely what looked like a young girl. She couldn't have been more than thirteen or so years old. He didn't seem to be the only one asking himself some questions but none of the candidates were fools. It was wiser for them to shut up and observe the situation.

She was extremely beautiful. She had calf-length rosy pink hair, partially done up into two pigtails by black hairpieces that resemble bat wings and had large, sharp, slightly slanted eyes that are red

On her, was a short black, frilly style dress with a layer of white ruffles over black ruffles of the skirt. The top has a raindrop shape opening between her b.r.e.a.s.ts, and the straps of the top cross before reaching her neck on either side. The top has an open back with two x-shaped crossing stitches tightening it at her waist.

The sleeves of her top were loose and black and under these sleeves, she wore a pair of black gloves that are tighter against her skin and reach her knuckles. Her get-up was completed by tall black boots that are folded below her knees.

All in all, she was the perfect gothic loli. The impression she gave was that of ephemeral beauty, but the moment she opened her mouth, that impression was immediately destroyed.

"Oi!! F.u.c.kers, do you think that you are worthy of entering my school?"

Those words were met with stunned silence. The contrast between her look and her word was so great was some had their thoughts process crash. The peoples behind her had a helpless look on their faces, it was an if they already knew that it would have happened.

The girl, on the other hand, seemed dissatisfied with their slow réponse, turning her head, she addressed a man with glass on her right.

"Edward, what the f.u.c.k is happening? I thought that this batch was supposed to be one the best"

The man named Edward had the appearance of an elderly butler and was dressed gracefully in a traditional black uniform. His hair was entirely white, just like his immaculate beard. He had visible wrinkles on his hollow face, which makes him seem gentle in appearance, but his grey eyes were filled with exasperation.

He sighed a little before stepping in front of all the students and with a short bow began to speak,

" I'm the vice principal of the blue star academy, you can call me sir Edward or simply vice principal. I speak on the behalf of the all the professors and the principal, Eleanor Maxwell, by saying that we are happy to see so many young and promising constellationist, sadly our school only accept the best of the best so, we will have to reduce the number" his word made the earlier tension came back.

The girl, who Sol supposed was the principal was silent while sir Edward spoke. Once he finished she continued,

"Let me say this more clearly. Most of you guys are trash, no you're less than trash. At least trash can be recycled, you on the other hand... "

The look on her face as she was saying this was of utter despite. She didn't simply look down on us, it was clear that in her eyes we simply weren't worth even her looking down on us. Sol was listening to her while daydreaming. Frankly, he didn't really care about what she was saying. He heard far more hurtful things during the last 10 years. In fact, he even found her somewhat cute.

The other candidates though weren't so calm. Most of them had their fists clenched as they tried to control themselves. The three form the noble's family seemed even ready to fight if she continued her insult.

Eleanor looked at all of them with a somewhat satisfied smile. She thought that at least they had some spunk in them, that was until her eyes fells on a fellow who stood apart from the other. What drew her eyes wasn't his incredible good look. No, it was the expression of boredom she found on his face that intrigued her. She had lived far longer than any normal humans had the right to. She knew this kind of gaze. It wasn't just one of boredom toward what she was saying. It was of boredom toward life in general(so this is the son of that bastard Mino, poor boy.. ).

She knew what happened 10 years ago. Someone who was supposed to become a new star had his wing broken by his own father. She wondered what he was feeling, still, she had a job to do, even though the batch of this year was somewhat lacking, it was still good enough, she was even more satisfied by the candidate from the Sagittarius family.

"Now that I told you exactly what was your place in my mind, it's time for me to give you the occasion to rise above and prove that you aren't less than trash.".

Behind her, a huge screen lit up. On the screen was the picture of an island.

"This is a little paradise, an island owned by the school, the second and final test will take place there".

She posed a little to give them the time to process what she said. Some seconds later, she continued,

" This island is protected by a barrier, so no teleportation, we will go there by sea on a ship. The travel will take two days"

The candidates were once again surprised, some of them even wanted to ask questions but she raised her voice,

"I know that you are confused, but shut up and let me finish or you'll be recalled even before the start of the test".

After obtaining the silence she wanted she continued to explain. Frankly, it's wasn't that hard to understand. The island was isolated at the other end of the earth, the fact that they needed only two days to cover such a distance was a miracle. She also explained that during the travel, all form of unauthorized fight was strictly forbidden, any person not respecting this rule would be recalled. After a few minutes of explaining the situation and throwing an insult at them after every two sentences, she finally ended by saying

"Let me be clear, I don't care where you came from, who you're parents are or how powerful your clan is. In my school, I'm god, if you become a student you'll live by my rules. I say to fight you'll fight and I say to bark like a dog you'll do it. If you aren't happy if you don't want to accept this, you have two options..either you f.u.c.k off out here or you fight against me right here right now. If you are able to impress me, I will give you some leeway".

"And what if we manage to beat you?",

The one who asked the question was the guy from the noble family. Silence once again descended. All the teachers had a twitching smile on their face, finally, one of them couldn't help but laugh out loud. Even Edward laughed a little before controlling himself. The worst of all was Eleanor. She was laughing so much that she was basically unable to breathe.

"Oh.. Oh.. Oh my God, It's been a while since I laughed so much "

Then with a feral smile on her face, she asked while looking around

"Is there anyone else wishing to fight me? No one? OK you, what is your name? "

The guy arrogantly raised his head and said

"I'm Emilio regulus, never forget this name"

she simply smiled at that and after seeing no one else raising their hands she nodded and gave a signal with her rights hand. Instantly a new door comes into existence. She walked toward it and once in front of it she stopped, turned around and said with an even crazier smile than earlier

" Follow me, I hope you won't regret it "...
