ENDLESS MYTH : Surpassing The Gods.

Sol watched in silence as the two entered the room. He was frankly surprised that such a stupid guy could exist. Sol knew that there some people at their age who already reached the level of elder. His big sister was one, the same for the leader of the Perseus family. But they were incredibly rare, there no way such a level of prodigy would be allowed out of the territory of their families without sufficient protection, otherwise, they would most likely be killed by the different enemies.

 No, he was sure that that guy wasn't at the level of elder. So, if he wasn't at that level, what gave him the gut to ask what he would obtain by beating someone at that level? After all, even though few people had his ability to feel the energy, you don't need to be a genius to understand that someone like her isn't something people like them could fight. 

He could understand the frustration and shame they must feel will being insulted so much by someone looking so young. But in this world, appearance and age are the worst measures of power. Only power matters. If you're strong enough, no matter how young you are, you'll be respected in the same way, if you're too weak, no matter how old you're, no one will care about you. It could be said that the system is an extreme meritocracy. Of course, the experience is still needed for certain posts, but such a problem doesn't matter if they are given aid with said experience. 

From what he could see, the principal was without a doubt a powerhouse, and Sir Edward should be the aid given to her. Of course, there is also the possibility of her being an old monster who simply stopped aging. 

Either way, fighting someone like her was simply asking for a trashing and he had no m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.tic tendency. So like most others, he simply decided to wait while looking at the door and thinking about how much a beating the guy would receive.

Emilio regulus, that is my name. Since the day of my birth, I was destinated to greatness. As the son of one of the elders of the regulus family, one of the noble families, few people could hope to stand above me. Today was supposed to be the day I shined and awed everyone with my talent. I, of course, knew that I had no hope of beating her, but I still confident enough in giving her a good fight. So why... why I'm looking up to this bitch while kneeling on the ground?   why are her red eyes giving me such a feeling of dread? Still, it doesn't matter, my pride dictates that insult must never be forgiven, I will repay it even if I have to die. The red-eyed girl clearly disregarding my conviction looked at me with a smile. I felt like a mouse being starred by a snake and then she smiled 

"Oh! Are you wondering why you act like that? It's just the mythology suppression at work " said the girl still smiling.

 Her word made my mind snap. mythology supression? impossible, I am of the regulus family how could I be suppressed by someone, not of a noble family? No.. don't tell me... 

"You.. you are... a usurper...!!! "

Usurper or tyrants. One of the rare kind of constellationists who can stand against the families. Constellations aren't obtained by blood but by destiny during one own awakening. The only exception to the rules are members of the nobles' families. Everyone born from such families will have one of the constellations that belong to his family. But that doesn't mean that no one outside of them can be born with a destiny great enough to attract one of the fourteen.

 If the families are called king, then those who obtain kingship without noble blood are called usurper. The usurper, or tyrants as they call themselves all stand at the peak of the world. Their numbers are exactly fourteen . There can be only one usurper for one of the twelve zodiacal constellations and only one tyrant for the Heracles clan and the Perseus clan. Another one can only be born after the death of the previous one.

That what Eleanor is. She is an anomaly between anomalies. The normal age of awakening is 10. Her, on the other hand, awakened at the ages of 3 to the Heracles constellation. At 14 she was already strong enough to give some elders a run. She reached that level sixteen a year ago, so now she is without a doubt the equal to some of the leaders. She stopped aging since she reached 14 years old. 

Myth suppression, on the other hand, is a little more complex but at the same time rather simple. The constellation in the sky is born from beings who were rewarded by the gods. But those figures weren't all at an equal level. In their own myth, some were killed by others. The situation here is the perfect example. Eleanor, as the usurper of Heracles constellation, can be considered as his incarnation. The Regulus family is under the Leo constellation and said constellation was born from the death of the Nemean lion. 

The Nemean lion was an extremely powerful beast. It's most striking characteristic was its impenetrable skin. Nothing could ever wound the Nemean lion. Sadly for it during the twelve tasks, the first labor of Heracles was to kill it. Since it was impossible to wound it, Heracles used his godly strength to slowly strangle it to death. This relationship in their myth made it that members of the Regulus family will always have the power reduced when fighting a member of the Heracles family. The larger the difference between in power, the stronger the suppressing will be.

You could say that Emilio was really unlucky. There are only fourteen usurpers. Of those fourteen only one have the Heracles constellation. The probability of fighting someone like that was so low that it's was basically non-existent. Still, it's not like he could have lasted long even without that.

"Let see, it would be boring if you're to be beaten like that. So let me give you a chance to redeem yourself for your stupid pride" 

As she said that with a smile and a twinkle in her eyes you could practically see a foxtail behind her. Yes, from the very start she had dangled a bait for those candidates, the fact that a slightly bigger fish bite was even better for the rest of her plan. " Listen to me, I won't repeat myself, I want you to..."

About 10mn after they went in, the door finally opened. The first to get out was the principal and behind her was Emilio. While he had no visible wound on his body, Sol could see a haunted expression on his face. Whatever happened in the room must have been a great shock.

Acting as if nothing wrong the principal went to the other professor and asked 

"Edward, how long until the circle is ready ?" Edward took what looked like a pocket watch and said:

 "Only five minutes will be needed". 

She seemed satisfied with this answer, she now turned toward the candidates and said "Now that all nuisance is over let go over what will happen once you step foot on little paradise."

One of the professors advanced once she stopped speaking. It was a tall and slim man with glasses and slicked black hair. He wore a black suit with two golden markings on it over a white shirt with a curious collar, with spiral-like protrusions on the edges, and a standard black tie. He also sports striped shoes.

While sir Edward gave a gentle impression, this man on the other was more strict. His cold cold voice sounded in the room. "I'm Faust Schaeffer teacher of summoning and close-quarters combat courses. Those of you who will succeed will have to call me professor Faust. Pleased to meet you"

 The candidates answered in kind. After waiting for the greetings to end he continued, "The test this year will be a little different. It's will be a survival test. This test will compile many things such as, your ability to act in a team, you're the ability to survive in the wild, your personal strength, etc."

The candidates began to frown. This test was more than hard. It was an extremely comprehensive test. It seems like the rumors were true. 

Faust continued without taking in their expression " As you could easily deduce. You won't just have to stay on a deserted island. Little paradise is called like that because it's a paradise for divers nightmare beast, poisonous plants, and insect, what more you'll have to fight among yourselves. I can assure that anyone who succeeds will be without a doubt the best of the best of those here or... The one with the best luck ". 

He made a pause as he looked as most of the candidates were pale-faced. So taking pity he added, 

" Of course, our goal isn't to send you to your death. Teleportation is impossible from the exterior, but the other way is possible. Each of you will be given a talisman. If you tear it, you'll be teleported out of the island. Still, as accidents are always possible, I will have to ask you to sign a contract which stipulates that you're taking this test while fully knowing how dangerous it is and as such our school will hold no responsibility in case of death" with those chilling words he took a stack of papers. 

He continued with a serious expression "This test isn't a gamew. I have no doubt that people we die. I ask you to seriously think about it. You'll have until we reach the island to give me your answer. Don't worry, If after we arrive at the destination you feel that you cannot continue you'll be taken back to your home without a fuss".

The silence was deafening. Everyone was brooding. In the face of death, few things could stay meaningful. For young people such as them, talking about death might have been a little too much, but they had to. 

Faust thought about the discussion they had with the principal and the others professors . He knew that it's was necessary to make them understand a part of the dangers they will have to face during this test. If the plan proposed by Minos succeed, it will an incredible victory, sadly such a victory will never come without a price and this price might have to be paid with the life of few candidates or even some professors.

 Thankfully, after so many years since his contract, he became a little weary of life. Perhaps dying and going to hell will be interesting. And it's with such a morbid tough that they were instantly moved to the boat by the transportation circle which was finally ready.
