Everlasting System: Changing Stories

Chapter 5 - A Plan Half-formed and Half-ruined.

"And here I thought you'd end up dead." She barely raised her head up, already matching the tone from Delphi's other memories, and the fitted her perfect, innocent sister, Helena. Ever since they were children, Delphi has always been favored, and loved. She was stunning, and she was a borne genius.

'Who could possibly dislike her?' that was the question that had always remained unanswered every time her parents gave a fond look to the young girl.

Now, a like-minded 24-year old individual, she was a blossomed beauty. She wasn't the cutie as she was before. She was devious and she was cunning, and it was the traits that had grown into her younger sibling, Helena.

While Soren was cruel, he was kind enough to give her bits and details that would ultimately aid her to surviving in his current world. Helena wasn't the jealous type, but she was the type who was filled with greed. Delphi wasn't the cannon character here, she was the second female lead. How she'd missed that, Elena did not know.

"Sorry to disappoint you sister."

"Didn't go radical this time around, did you?" The unique brunette beauty took a sit beside her. Elena didn't care to give the main lead her attention. She was the main star of this story, she didn't have to waste her time giving her any attention when if she had died, the woman would have had it all.

"It was stupid to be so unreasonable, that's all." Delphi lazily waved a hand while the soul inside was forming a plan to chase the other one out. She was to be discharged today and she didn't need the main lead ruining her day. "I'm supposed to be cunning..." She purposely wove a hand into her own curls, bringing out some of her charm that the younger sister could never execute well; the seduction of someone m.a.t.u.r.e. While Helena had her own charm, she was five years younger. She had that innocent facade, but she had her methods and means to survive. The kind that the past Delphi had not expected.

As expected, the other woman tensed. Her shoulders grew stiff, and her palms were into fists in her l.a.p. Age, as irrelevant as it was to the younger generation who saw love as the greatest thing to have ever existed, it was still relevant. Age was a number, but it was the type and kind of number that told of the amount of experience in life a person had.

"So... You finally caught up?"

"I have always knew that you were a little, unique elf." Delphi looked up, the true genius behind grinning with delight as Helena frowned. Both sisters had the same shade of brown in their eyes. While Helena was darker, Delphi was playful and light. And the two sisters used it to their advantage to form personas. "Unlike you, I grew dependent on my parents... I trusted them and their favoritism to carry my revenge... I never knew..." She gazed into her sister, a longing look she had perfected in her last lives. No one would see she was playing. No one would see the pieces she conjured, and shaped to perfect the plan. Elena knew what to do now, watching the other woman shake in rage.

"You never knew I'd stoop so low as to try to kill you?" Helena cackled. "Please... I didn't kill you... Trust me when I say this sister, you must have offended someone else. I was glad someone was brave enough to try to kill you. But I was not the cause of your murder..."

This was wrong... Helena was supposed to be the killer, the murderer behind all this. The accident, the sudden downfall of the beautiful life of Delphi. But now, as she looked into familiar shades, there was no deceit in her words.

"I would've thrown your body into the sea, killed you off in somewhere more private... Whoever you had offended... Well, you better watch your back." The other woman looked cool, not at all stressed as she was earlier. It seemed as if she had caught on to her train of thought and did the last kill. Helena had diverted all her suspicions and directed it to somewhere else, ruining half her plan. "You might die at the very second. Blood may run thicker than water, but my blood will certainly not save yours."
